when jagjit died i was crying n my parents were unable to find cause..

  • ik udari aisi maari,o mud hath ni na aya.....

  • Time is more prscious THEN THINGS....RIP...May the creator bless us all with more of it, it's such an old story!

  • " ik udari aise maree , o murr watani na aaya " WE MISS YOU .RIP.

  • full justice to shiv batalvi poetry....soulfull voice......

  • This is perhaps best Punjabi song by Jagjit Singh. Shiv's poetry is like a dirge which goes through the heart. Compared to this all other versions are passe, including the great Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan. All th elate artists were great talents and we are fortunate to have them.

  • thanks for uploading

  • mind blowing. masterpiece.

  • nice jagjit ji nice

  • Thanks for uploading the is awesome ghazal by a Legend, have been looking for this one for years!

  • Very nice song of JS with great lyrics

  • Why Lord why? Why did you do this to us? We Punjabis have suffered so much. And now you have taken another legend from us. Son of Punjab is gone. Rest in peace, Jagjitji, he's finally united with his son and daughter.

  • @ZooniIndian With all due respect to your sentiments towards Jagajit Singh ji, he was born and brought up in a Sikh family in Sri Ganganagar in Rajasthan. All that apart, he was a philanthropic son of India, not just Punjab or Rajasthan. God bless his soul.

  • @bharatnaruka Dear Bharat, I know he was born in Rajasthan, but his family is a native of Dalla village of Punjab. Jagjit Singh has been a proud Punjabi all his life. Why can't we say we are proud to be Punjabis, when Gujratis, Marathis, Bengalis, Tamils have all the right to do so. Because this is a Punjabi song, that is why I mentioned his punjabiness.

  • @ZooniIndian No worries. Nothing wrong in being proud of where one belongs.

  • @bharatnaruka I just hope India gives birth to another legend like Jagjit Singh. I am a student of Hindustani classical and have decided to put my focus on ghazal. It is going to be hard, but I want to keep his legacy alive.

    Afterall, we're proud Indians.

  • another legend passes away,, very sad day for Music lover, JAGJEET SINGH makes us sad,,, after the death of Ustad Sahib NUSRAT FATEH ALI.

  • Rest in peace, sir

  • choori kuttan te o khaunda nai...ve asaan dil da maas khavayaa.

haunting lyrics and the perfect magical voice, jismein saraswati virajmaan thi. and we lost him....I am so sad. His songs have always been there in those tough days, esp. those of heartache....and well happy as I am today in life( Thanks to God), his voice and the meaningful songs still leave me misty eyed. God bless such geniuses. he'll live forever.

  • we will love you always, even if your singing with the angels

  • RIP, Jagjit Singh ji

  • No complaints, dear, for little commentry,I 'M STRUCK SPEECHLESS every time I listen

  • fabulous...just fabulous..!!!

  • my all time fav thanks for uploading

  • what is shikra?

  • 'Shikra' is a carnivorous bird which looks like a small eagle and hunts other birds. However, as far as this poem is concerned this word subolises a lover who doesnt care about u any more and has left u. now listen to the poem and u would understand the real depth of shiv kumar's poetry.

  • @tobhupisandhu thank you, sandhu sahab. that helped a lot.

  • The Great poet shiv kumar batalvi and singer jagjit singh both awesome ... dardaan de saudagar...

  • One of the saddest love songs ever! Great lyrics and great rendition by Jagjit Singh! Thanks!

  • tuch my heart song thnx thnx thnx for upload

  • what does the song mean Can someone translate the lyrics please. :)

I understand he's singing to his mother?

  • @munrith basically he is telling his mother how he fell in love with a hawk ' in this case refers to a girl ' .. and then he tells what he did for this hawk but in the end he says that hawk took a flight and never returned back to the country ..

  • @lordniazi90

    Oh cool. Thank you,

So I'm guessing the word "shikra" means hawk? :D

  • @munrith yes basically shikra means hawk .. but in this poetry it refers to a girl, so he indirectly tells how he served the hawk, by doing so much for her, but at the end of the .. 'ik udaari aisi mari, o murr watnii nah aya' .. he took such a flight that he never came back ..

  • @lordniazi90

Oh great thanks for the meaning lordniazi90 :)
