They rang him up to ask for authentication and he said 'see if it's full of confetti'. It was- the plan was for the confetti to go everywhere when he smashed it, but instead the neck just broke off...
Yes. He placed his bass next to his amp, and Moon knocked it over. The neck and headstock fell off, so John, very angry, threw it down on the ground, sending pieces everywhere.
