  • OK - so his Cockney accent is a bit strange when he's speaking but his (and the rest of the ensemble's) actual performance of the song has plenty of life and, therefore, works really well. My only criticism is that he should've got a haircut.

  • For Americans they seem to manage the London (Cockney) accent reasonably well, but they just don';t seem to be able to pronounce Lambeth properly. To most English people, especially Londoners, their version sounds quite strange. It's quite simple really - it's LAM'buth" - as easy as that. - Lambeth, you've nevah seen - the skoy ain't blue an' the grahss ain' green , bu' tha' down' mah'uh very mach..........

  • Very nicely done! My high school did "Me and My Girl" for the musical this year. I really regret not going and seeing it, even though I tried out. I got to see "Lambeth Walk", "Me and My Girl" and "The Sun Has Got His Hat On" performed at a choir concert though. Kinda makes up for it... a little.

Well done. Congrats. :-) (Love the enthusiasm!)

  • I thought this was great for an American high school production. Nobody is especially talented, but lord are they ever enthusiastic! I think they did The Lambeth Walk proud, considering that no one here ever became a professional performer -- but that's just a guess.

  • @ptrichmondmike

    Ya guessed wrong.

  • my school had performed this play yeserday and i went and it was great

  • This was poorly done. I'm in this show right now and opening night is next week. The boy who plays Bill is horrible and very young sounding. The boy in our show who plays bill is a 17 year old from England. He's fantastic. I dont know what we would have done if an American had done the part. He probably would have sucked worse than this guy.

  • Yes, Bill sounds young. He IS young. I'm sure that words like "horrible" and "poorly done" will thrill the student, if he still reads these comments [he's all grown-up now]. He was the HS best student who auditioned! I liked his.. as well as all the young students' performances in this show.

Although I'm not sure why you even took time to write a comment, I'm glad that you have an excellent guy playing your lead.

Let's see some clips after you open.

  • @roxybabe22428 = Bitch

    Nicely done kids.

    .

  • @skeilak skeilak =Creep

  • @theraviolicat2 true

  • my high school is doing this play this week. i'm a techy though.. haha our sally was england for a period of time so her accent is great and everyone else in the play has bee working on their accents also.

  • very nicely done!!!

    NYC

  • i love your sally!! :D

we're doing this show this year (actually... opening night is next week. oh boy)

this is the hardest song, in my (and probably everyone else's) opinion. but its fuun!

  • Great. I liked the guy's hair. Everything about the video is wonderful. I wish I had seen this show in person. Thanks for the video.

  • That kid's hair makes me want to throw up all over the place.

  • amazing i absolutly love this song - our musical is tommorow and the next day and we r doing this show - i love it and i wish i could do more than just usher but this is by far one of the best musicals (of course next to cats and thoroughly modern millie)

  • OMG!!!! SO IS MINE!!!!!!

  • Have to say, Bill's voice isn't that great but he is a great dancer.

  • Haha, we did this play. Twas awsome. I believe our bill was the best :) same with sally....but not as good as bill. he was just so damn convincing.

  • The girl playing Sally has an amazing voice the guys good but not as good!

  • I belong 2 a youth theatre and we did this show! I loved doing this song. We just finished doing "me and my girl" a few days ago!It was lots of fun :)

  • Im English and these accents are not bad at all. If you want to hear bad listen to Dick van Dyke in Mary Poppins!

Our colonial cousins have developed pretty good accents since then!

  • These are 16 and 17 year old kids doing a High School Drama production.

  • Once again I am blown away. Wish I'd been there.

  • Not bad, but the tempo is way too slow! Speed it up!

  • We're doing this and this is sucha fun song to perform, i love it

  • I'm worried, is this an american production or an English one?

  • If I said "American," would you worry?

If I said "English," would you?

    ..

    ..

    Okay - it's American!! ;-}

    WHY?

  • because that is NOT a cockney accent, bless them for tryin but it's just bad! not a bad version of the song though :)

  • my school is doing this and i hope i get in. Great show! I loved it! Great job and great accents. Super!

  • tears in my eyes of joy and nostalgia for my home town. great effort!

  • Not a bad production. Voices could have been a bit more cockney bt im just being picky. Some things were a bit too well pronouced for harsh cockney but blah dancing and acting was brillaint and voices (excluding my pirnicky thing on the accents) were bloody great! Good show!

  • Excellent for a High School Production! BRAVO!

  • i did this song in my broadway show! ezcept it was a little different moves~

  • Cool! What do you mean "in my broadway show?" What part did you play?

Your profile says that you're 25 years old.

  • Let's see.. Since the show ran from 1986 ~1989, that would make this actor 5 ~ 8 years old, right?

  • Chill out! Maybe sexyducks didn't mean ORIGINAL B'way production.

  • my school did this last year. i completely love it. next year im so doing musicals! im like obsessed with them. and me and my girl has too be my completely favoritee!
