I must agree, as an Englishman I beleive most british indie-pop kind of sucks. I mean we have Kaiser Chiefs and Scouting for Girls and America have OK GO and Vampire Weekend. It's sad to see indie rock go downhill in england at the moment. It's the main reason why I got into other genres.

For example: The Strokes The White Stripes Yeah Yeah Yeahs Wilco Queens of the stone age The Raconteurs Foo Fighters the list goes on..... A lot of good newer bands are unamerican though, Arctic Monkeys and Radiohead for example
