How about Stockdale is absolutely full of himself? Heskett and Ross were the backbone of Wolfmother. Andrew should have hired a vocalist and taken guitar lessons, listen to this, this song is amazing for it's day. Rock and roll isn't about the clothes you wear, it's the beast released from within. And Myles is a fucking monster! The new line-up pales in comparison. A tragedy, really.

I don't know if it's just me, but all of these new songs they played at this gig just didn't sound like Wolfmother should. It seems a little more...(modern? Too heavy metal?) than their first album. That must have been where the "creative differences" were. I'm kinda glad Myles and Chris left, cause now his new songs seem much more like the old Wolfmother; Pilgrim is phenomenal.

Have you heard far away yet? It's terrible, sounds like Nirvana or Pearl Jam. The other songs do sound great though, I just wouldn't be so sure that Myles or Chris tried to modernize the sound.

I'm pretty sure the original line-up offered the perfect amounts of varying influence and thus created the first album more hooky and catchy with thick, fat tones. Now that there is a new line up it leans more to the sabbath side of things with songs like back round. Instead of having like one thick heavy guitar they just build walls of 'em, and I'm worried that the sweet bass and organ breakdowns that the original bassist offered aren't gonna happen anymore haha.

Wolfmother's split is a catastrophe, but it didn't actually surprise me.! The two other guys are like track shoes-skating-guys, while Andrew are much more into the old kinda Rock-school thing. He's by far the driving force if you're talking about classic rock style. I hope we have a lot of exciting music from at least Andrew ahead of us. But I'm in doubt. The first album was MAGICAL, like a phenomena you'd never expect to get as popular as it did. Fulfilling the expectations is some task!

I didn't say I liked modern music at all, did I matey? Quite the opposite. I enjoy older bands/artists such as Pink Floyd and Neil Young etc. What I am saying is that there is little new in the sound of their new material. I would like to see bands break of the norm and EXPERIMENT instead of rehashing a sound that was around 30 or more years ago. I'm not saying discard the genre all together, but create something new, fresh and exciting. A case of deriving, like how this crazy genre got started.
