this is great and helped me a lot. this is my second year winterizing my RV, and I just reviewed this to make sure I didn't miss anything. One recomendation I have is to take apart the waste traps under the kitchen and bathroom sinks. You dont need any tools; just your hands, and a bucket for the water.
Excellent video. Tip: add a little RV antifreeze to your kitchen sink and bathroom sinks to replace the water in the trap with antifreeze. Doesn't take much.
Thanks, but I wish we would all agree to call it a "water heater", not a "hot water heater". This is like calling a refrigerator a "cold air cooler". Why would you want to heat hot water or cool cold air?
You are awesome dude. I learned so much . The fresh, grey, and black tanks have always been a grey area for me. rimshot, rimshot, cymbal !!? I am living in my camper for the winter by choice next to my house, Because it is just fun, Screw what former girlfriends say about it. Honey, if you don't like it you know what you can do. Stay at your own place. I have my new flat screen TV, Xbox 360, awesome kitchen, new electric fireplace ie: all my cool stuff.
wow..thanks! My first rv , I had no idea what do do. I put some water in the fresh water tank, dumped a couple of gallons of rv antifreeze in...and pumped it thru. It worked, but I guess your not supposed to mix with water like that...lol.
thanks from a first timer, i am green at this and really am thankful that i found this video. i would like to add one thing though, i would like to see more work at teaching the green people like me before your purchase is done rather then sending me out into the wild. i really appreciate you doing this great job..
Great work. I would like to see an additional video on how to winterize your batteries, closing up the outside of the camper, keeping the mice out etc...
Great video thanks...I'm replacing plumbing in an older travel trailer that I don't think was ever winterized. What a chore! Everyone that camps should watch this.
Sorry, no. Perhaps the correct terminology would avoid such confusion:
A CAMPER sits in the box of a pick-up truck, and has no wheels of its own. A TRAVEL TRAILER is pulled behind a tow vehicle using a trailer hitch fixed to the rear framework of the tow vehicle. They have their own wheels on single, tandem or triple axles. A FIFTH WHEEL TRAILER has a front section that rides above the rear axle of the tow vehicle, where the fifth wheel hitch is located. It also has its own axles and wheels.
Actually all of the water will not drain out by gravity. A lot of people will blow the lines empty using compressed air. If you do this be very sure you got all the water out. All it takes to freeze is for a lot of drops to pool together.
Thank you so much for posting this video. We're native Californian's and this was the first time we've ever heard of winterizing. Your video was the perfect teacher. Again 1000 thanks!
Thanks to everyone for leaving such nice comments regarding our video! Glad to hear that it was helpful!

wombatstew1 you have to get a life... grab a girl your travel trailer and go camping!

Nice video. It's kind of funny hearing the fellow repeatedly refer to this travel trailer as a "camper" but the information is sound.

WOnderful. Just wondering, what if I drain the water and don't put antifreeze? Shouldn't be freezing, right?
