  • Are most airliner approaches ILS or VFR? I mean I know it's ILS in bad weather, but if its fair weather is it usually VFR? Thanks

  • Missed the touchdown zone by a bit?

  • Dude, you have the best job in the world! It tops my list of cool dream jobs. Have fun flying!

    Boeing 747-400 pilot

    Astronaut

    U.S. Army Special Operator

    Japanese Shinkansen engineer

    U.S. Freight train engineer

    Tokyo commuter rail engineer

  • beatiful landing!

  • my god!.....a seven forty seven on landing procedures , the real heroe here it is not the fuckin plane....is the commander in charge because try to land that kind of monster is a masterpiece , i pull down my pants and i say to the captain....use my ass!.....hahah.....well , probably not!

  • The 747 is VERY easy to fly and land. It's taxing it around that takes a while to get used to.

  • LOL, you said it.. but I am not a captian, May I use it?.. I can make you Fly, also. :)

  • hahaha! this promotion its only for the commander in charge of that plane....perhaps you only deserve a blow job! hahahaha iam kidding!

  • Awasome point of view!

  • No 50.40.30.20.10? just tones?

  • Possibly because the plane was one of the first manufactured, it's the second 744 to be delivered to NWA, and I'm guessing it might be the second 744 ever built...but thats my guess. It's interesting to see though...if I flew I'd rather have the numbers said lol.

  • Which company?

  • Northwest Airlines, you can tell by the red winglet.

  • SAd to say No longer Northwest.

  • これは成田国際空港(新東京国際空港)への着陸ですね。

This is landing to Narita International Airport (New Tokyo International Airport).

  • avihandler, flying is very safe.

  • If I were a 747 pilot doing that for the first time, I'd be in a cold sweat!LOL Great Job! once again

  • actuallly the aoutopilot is linding you up to the runway so you would have to flair

  • it depends if you land in manual there you're the PIC.

  • Great job Capt Jack! Nice landing and they gave you a lousy runway that was too short.

  • no, that's the longest runway runway at Narita, 34L/16R

  • I can't believe how little time it took to slow down and exit the runway! Great job.

  • Fantastic

  • Awesome video, well done !

I am flying on a JAL 747-400 in August...Are these safe planes? I have a deathly fear of flying and am anxious about taking a 14hr flight to tokyo...

Any reassurances would be welcome. Thanks !

  • yes they are safe, you don't have to worry about flying pilots do a remarkable job, if you have questions during the flight you can always ask a flight attendant, hope you have a good flight.

  • They are extremely safe... There is litarraly a 1 in a trillion chance that even just a small engine burnout would happen... you are safe... I hope you had nice flight! I flew from Atlanta to Narita on 34L for a 13 hr, 55 min flight just 2 days ago. it ws a verrrrry pleasant flight! It was a Delta 777-200LR in BuisnessElite

  • Great Vid

  • northwest airlines

  • The signal tone of height-indicator(?) is unique, isn't it?

  • I think he just had the audio for the runway markers turned on

  • I agree on all 747-400s,they have the "Minimums!"voice callout from the Flight Management System. I almost mistaking it for a different 747 variant.

  • Great landing!

  • congrats capt jack for a perfect landing!

  • Yeah, That's how it's done!

  • best cockpit vid i saw!! 5 stars
