I don't dry it at all before screening it. If the castings are too wet I use a door with screening that allows air to flow through and dry the vermicompost. So far I have not had to dry it. I screen it and then store it in 5 gallon buckets with lids.
They are spring tails. My bins all seem to be very good at raising spring tails. I wish there was a market for them - I'd be rich. I read somewhere that 80% of the soil in the world has been through a spring tail. If my bin is the example it's true.

yup. they are very busy little workers and they can produce a LOT of castings.

The screens come as a set. The set is known as a sieve. I get them from Dallas Bonsai. A quick search on Google will find them. Thanks for asking.
