  • i was born 1983 but im so glad that i was able to finish all seasons of hogans heroes and carter is one of my favorite!

    i love his voice! ...

  • great vid....luv "But Beautiful" song....if that was his voice singing...nice sound. wish I knew if he was with "The Mascots" or "The Four Spades"...or where.... when he recorded that.???

  • Larry Hovis is my hero. He was my mentor and an incredible man. Thank you for this.

  • This is great. Thank you for making this. He was my favorite character on Hogan's Heroes. He did the best various impressions. I always thought they should have stuck with having only him do the over-the-phone impressions since he was so great at them. I think his Hitler impression is probably the most looked up HH show clip on YouTube. :)

  • HOGAN'S HEROES- Like No Other- What a Combination Group of Warm Spiritual Human Beings- LOVING, CARING Characters & Personalities- So DAMN FUNNY-

I've Just Started to Check Out the Tributes- Though I've Watched HOGAN'S From the Beginning & All the Reruns- Especially on KSTC-Mpls- Have Been Connected in Many Ways! LARRY HOVIS was So INNOVATIVE- AMAZING- & I am Always in AWE of the WRITING-The Mental Capacity & Knowledge of These Cats are SECOND to NOBODY- GOD BLESS LARRY HOVIS & The Whole GANG!

  • Larry Hovis voice is beautiful, I'm looking for his song A Rose to Remember You By, someone must upload that.

  • Thanks for making this. Very beautiful tribute to a very funny guy who brought smiles to a lot of people...including me.

  • Larry Hovis is the creator of some of the funniest moments in Hogans Heroes... Thank You

  • I didn't know Larry had passed. He was very funny. RIP, Sgt. Carter.

  • Thanks man, your brother will be remembered throughout the ages.

  • That was a fine tribute to a great person who lives on in the hearts of millions. And who will be entertaining future generations, also. Thank you so much for posting this.

  • Carter was one of my favorites from the show

  • Thanks for your wonderful work, Mr. Hovis! It shall be remembered!

  • VERY NICELY DONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • My father went to Reagan High School with Mr. Hovis in Houston. Always had good things to say about him.

  • Wondering if your the brother who he came to see in Thailand. It was a great story told at the memorial service. I also remember a great scene shown where he plays a nebbish Hit-man trying to get Doris Day to stand still long enough to kill her... Unbelievable!! My girl watchs Hogan`s every night instead of the news. Its brought us closer together at bed time.

  • A fine voice and a lovely song. So long as Hogan's Heroes is around, Larry will always be Sgt. Carter!

  • What a talent he was! I really appreciate how brilliantly Mr. Hovis played the role of naive Carter--he made it look so natural and easy. He was a first-rate actor and craftsman.

Thank you to his brother for sharing the lovely family pictures and for creating the beautiful tribute.

  • Larry Hovis had a big success in CHILE, year 1958: WE COULD HAVE LOST A FUN. (Sorry, But I don't speak english).

Now, that song and DO I LOVE YOU? are playing every day on chilean radios.

Salsamonster 2003, your brother was a great person. Congratulations for you and family.

  • This was an awesome tribute and like most people I remember Carter from Hogan's Heroes where he was my favorite character, especially when he'd dress up as a Nazi officer. Your brother had a true art of making people laugh and as long as we remember him, he lives on.

  • Thanks for sharring those memories. Hogans Heroes was my Favorite show, watched it every day when I got home from school. Now I have many of the series on DVD so I can still laugh at the crazyness of that great show.

  • im only 13 and never met larry, but im a huge freak for Hogans Heroes. Best show ever made. most shows today suck, but the only one i really like is two and a half men. larry was a guy with great talent, and he will never be forgotten. most, if not all people back then who acted in those shows had the best talent ever. i recently e-mailed Robert Clary and he said he would autograph a copy of the book he wrote. he seemed so nice and everything.

  • wat Robert Clary's eamil. I love hogans heroes and would do anything to meet any of the suviving cast members of the show

  • I agree with you completely. Hogan's Heroes is the best show ever made!

  • We grew up with Larry on tv in the 60's.......we'll miss him dearly

  • What a wonderful singing voice.

  • I'm only 25 years old and a Hogan's Heroes feak (just love the show since the first time I seen it) and Larry Hovis was awesome the way he brought sargent Andrew Carter to life and a true legend of that show and the many other things he did in his career.

  • when will we see the "larry Hovis" film festival?

  • Thank you, Tom, for these pictures of Larry. Your brother was one of the best talents. He made Andrew Carter a real person in my thoughts. To Larry's students : I read their tributes to him just after his death on the website dedicated to his work. Such an outpouring of respect and affection showed he was not just a fine teacher but a man who loved to teach - to give and share with his students. I wish I had met him. I may see him in the afterlife, but he'll be in the center of such a mob!

  • You were great Carter... say Hi to Bob Crane for me!

  • RIP Larry Hovis.

  • Hi Tom! I just want to say, first, I'm so sorry for your loss, and also that Larry and HH played a big part in my life when growing up. Today, I have all the episodes recorded and my kids, especially my 14 year old daughter ADORE Larry (Carter) SO much, as well, she is a huge fan of him and the entire show.

Thanks for this wonderfull tribute. He will live on in my family's hearts!

    Cheers

  • Larry makes me laugh, and he always will.

  • nothing more I can say that hasn't already been said here. Larry will always be alive in us who remember him.

  • Tom, Your a wonderful brother to post such a fine tribute to your brother. larry was a actor in the days when TV was good to watch with the family not like todays crap thats on the air. Im sure that Larry is proud of you for everything that you have done for him and he has a very large smile on his face too.I thank you also for taking time out of your busy days to share this video tribute. " Oh where have those good old days of TV went ? "

  • Great tribute to a talented guy.

  • I met Larry once on a set in Austin, he looked me up because of my name. What a nice guy. I wish I had taken his classes at Texas State and known him longer.Bob Crain

  • Dear Bob, At least you got to meet him. I've been a fan since before Carter. I e-mailed him when the film "AutoFocus" premiered at the film festival in Toronto. He e-mailed back - a nice e-mail from a nice man - saying that he was not concerned about himself, but how such a caracature of Mr. Crane would hurt his friend's family. He thought of Bob often, he wrote, and missed him a lot.
