  • Hi, I was wondering how did you cure alopecia? My hair was sheddind so much and that's why I cut my locs off, not sure if it's alopecia don't have any ball spots that I know of but it is scary, is there any thing you use to grow hair back?

  • Great video. Lots of good information. :-)

  • ur locs look great sweetie....i have 1 question....i wanna get dreads and i come to find out that ur hair shrinks up when u get em, so im guessing if i use the braid method my length still be there vs if i get the twists? let me kno if im wrong..thanks

  • Hello. My 1st set of locs were started with braids. I had shrinkage with the braids also.

  • No, you do not have to latch. You can twist your roots or freeform.

  • your videos have been the most informative dread videos I have found. The latchlocking and how to start a dread ( where you use the doll ) tutorials are my favorite on the net.

  • Does nappturality still exist?

  • Hey, I think my daughter has alopecia also. I have done research so this is what I think it is. She would loose hair natural and now has locks. She has had the locks for a year and so far has lost her back and hairline. Anything I can do to help this.

  • hi..i love your videos...are you on facebook?

  • thanks for this vid

  • Thanks sis, you included one of my questions =)

  • Loving the video, esp. the q & A. Very creative yet informative!

  • Very informative and clear! Thanks for sharing your knowledge.

Just wanted to tell you the some people start w/relaxer and latch. They eventually have to cut off the permed ends but yes alot of sisterlockers start w/permed hair

  • very informative and down to earth video.

  • Very informative,I really love your hair,I started my hair with braids..so far good,I also use the latch method works well for me,by the way you look nice ,saw your little prego hump in yesterdays vid..cute..I wish I only had the 2 stretch marks ..lol, Question,What can you do to control the fuzzies? Or is that a part of the process? Peace and blesssings.

  • Yes, the fuzzies is part of the process. In the beginning I would curl my locs whenever I got tired of the fuzzy look.

  • I pay someone to latch my locs because I have about 375 locs and I am not comfortable doing them myself. However, I now started to see holes in my locs. I have had my locs now for 7 months.

  • I don't know what happened to my first comment, so here I go again. Sorry if it's a repeat. ~You addressed the question of how to prevent holes in your locs, but how do you correct the holes if you find that you have them further down you loc. Let's say maybe an inch away from your scalp and/or new growth?

  • If the hole was noticably big and the hair hadn't loc'd yet, I would try to relatch by going through different directions. It's hard to explain.

  • that was a great video sis!!!

  • great vid to add to video- you can start sister-locs with an inch of new growth you have to have natural hair in order for your hair to loc permed hair want loc. I had sister locs instaled and once my hair would grow every 5 weeks i would cut a lil of the perm off the ends untill i cut it all off .

  • Thank you, Thank you, THANK YOU!!! You addressed many of the questions/concerns that I have been having since I decided to loc. I work out a lot so I found that latching works best 4 me but I am concerned about thinning locs, have u experienced this at all?? Thank u 4 EVERYTHING!! YOU LOOK MAHVELOUS GIRL!! That pregnancy glow is working, your daughter is BEAUTIFUL.

  • I'm glad the video helped. I haven't experinced thin locs with latching. When I 1st latch, the roots are thin, but within time it plumps up.

  • that is a really great good excellent video! answered alot of questions and i have been using taliah waajid ock it up gel n now that im out i have been using ic fantasia olive oil gel. i did not know u can use only olive oil to start locs. maybe if i only retwist with it i wont have so much build up i wonder.

  • great video....i have a question....what is alopecia? (i think thats how you spell it) and what is that caused by?

  • Alopecia is a type of hair loss. It causes bald spots. I'm not sure why,. I started experincing problems w/ alopecia in my teenage years. I used to get steroid injections in my scalp to grow the hair back. But, nowadays I just let the hair grow back on its own. Every now and then I will get bald spots in my head for no reason (at least none that I can think of). For this reason, I don't really style my hair. The problem runs in my family. I have aunts who are just about completly bald.

  • wow so basically for you...its hereditary?
