If you shop in thrift shops chose the ones in the 'upper class' areas, the stuff is better quality even if it a bit more expensive, it looks better and lasts longer.
I lost 100 pounds.......I bought clearence items and asked family members to buy me clothes instead of other things.... if they didnt know my size I gave them the names to my favorite clothing stores....... our second hand stores in canada are worning out clothing with the same price tag as the new clearnce Items.
@MoldytoasterMedia I actually use to work at one and they over priced stuff all the time and the stuff was crap. who would pay 5.00 for paint stained pants with some thing nasty in the croch yuck. the clearence items from the stores are nicer. I can get a whole outfit for about 30.00 inc underware and winter jacket (canadian winters have -40 weather) I guess canada and the states are truly diffrent in that way.
@MoldytoasterMedia I am not a hoarder. my house is not a mess. at my house you can eat off the floors. I just love clothes. I have clothes from the second world war (I am not that old) clothes that are not name brand and some that are. I do wear all of them and there is no price tags left on any of my stuff. I do live cheap but not to the point were I have to money. Hey, my question to you is what would you spend your money on if you had it.
I totally agree with you. I love to buy from charity/thrift shops here in the UK. You can get some great clothes and some have never been worn with labels. Iv seen designer brands for rediculous prices.
I also sew my own stuff, and use old clothes to make patchwork quilts, bags, etc.
I look for free giveaways at churches. Some people give wonderful things away to people who need them for NOTHING! Save money by editing what you own! Save more money if you need to buy by using church thrift stores and not goodwill! Garage sales are cheaper as well! I pay .50 a shirt at a local thrift shop and 1.00 for pants
@GrenadeChick99 when you work 12 hour spreads and have split shifts just to pay the bills sewing kind of goes out the window. some times, time is money. I do agree with you sewing is a lost art. when my kids were little I use to take holely jeans and make them in to summer shorts.
looking to start your own online business.. i can help visit me at my channel and i will train you buy showing you all tricks you can use to become successfull online.
Great video! Your wedding dress is beautiful! So far I haven't had to shop I've been able to dig into smaller clothes I had stored and my sister in law has lent me a bunch of stuff so I'm lucky that way. But yeah I definitely thing 2nd hand is the way to go.
We have a fabulous thrift store associated with Purple Heart I think-- My daughter can spot a cashmere sweater or banana republic clothes from a mile a way there. I have just begun to buy my clothes there-( cause now I can fit in them) Mondays some 50% 0ff the rest are 30% off.
great tips! I didn't go much because when I did they didn't have much plus size clothes, but i've lost almost 70 lbs now so maybe I should give it another try. :)
LOVE your wedding dress.. When's the big day? Great clothes love the bargains.. Take care of yourself.. Like seeing the smiles ...And Rarrr what a cutie..
I go to our Salvation Army on Wednesdays because all clothing is 50% off that day. I also go to Goodwill -- I have favorite ones. We refer to the "best" ones as the "Gucci Goodwill" because they have the best name-brand clothing, separated by sizes and colors. I have lots of nice brand-name clothing that I paid almost NOTHING for! I rarely pay full price for anything anymore. :) I get great jewelry there, too!
Love the wedding dress girl!! and everything I was wearing was also from the salvation army here every friday woo hoo girl good for us...love ya..love rosemary

You can also check your local dry cleaners. Most sell clothing and other tiems that were never picked up and all for just the price to clean them!
