As someone who was brought up by Christian parents (who kept referring to the Holy Bible and various rules, etc) I soon discovered that The Bible (and many other religeous tracts) is like a supermarket. People take out of it what they want!!. They 'amend' and consider that senior religeous people are endowed with the right knowledge. Rubbish!!
I believe in one God - for all people - but I do not - and never will believe in religeon, which mostly is tailor made to fit the political aspects.
I am sick of people/states making up stupid laws in the name of Islam! Just show me a verse in Qoran that says women can't drive a car!! Cars didn't even exist back in Qoranic times!! Who decides that driving a car is a sin for women than???
definitely the cars didnt exist back in Quranic times, so what? women were, are and will be restricted to do things that are considered inappropriate, no matter what time it is. I am neither for or against women driving cars, i stick to the religion, Islam, based on this, if its right or wrong i think one shouldnt stop oneself to do it or not to do it.
Show me a verse in the Quran that says watching porno or smoking pot aren't allowed!! That's what your "logic" leads to if applied & well it just doesn't work that way. Do you want a Quranic verse for every sin imaginable from here to the end of this life?!
I'm not referring to women driving, I'm just pointing out that that's NOT how all Islamic laws are derived. Besides, the Quran definitely works for the time we live in just as it did centuries ago & will still work for all times to come.

I lived in Saudi Arabia for six years. I you look up the stats, the ladies are doing a lot better in education then men. They need there freedom to go as they please. Lets all give peace and equality a chance, please?
cant saudi women think of anything else than just getting the permit from the government for driving? talk about business, cultural exchange and educational values, there is hell lot of problem in Jeddah, check out the traffic level in Jeddah, its horrible, men themseleves find it difficult to move around in the evening, think about the women, if saudi women really wanna drive then go out of saudi, why kill others and yourself on the road like the men do in Saudi.
Dear mshl8188, You find it difficult to drive in Jeddah? Then, do NOT drive. But, believe me, there are women who are better drivers than you are and will survive the traffic of Jeddah. Do not be too considerate (!) Women can think for themselves.
thanks for your opinion heavenlymilano, i think i also gave women some option of driving on an autobahn or head to the nurberg ring, the driving of men itself makes me wonder the driving of women in Saudi, i am not a sexist, and personally i do not discourage women from driving, i like the way how experienced women drive, i have also experienced the flight of women pilots, i have seen that the landing done by a woman pilot is much smoother than a male pilot. But,its Jeddah that i am worried about
i fuck arab nations
