I am really suprised to find out she uses PMI for tremolo. Is any one aware of other world class guitarists using PMI for tremolo? Very unorthodox, but I guess it works for her.
pmim is harder in my opinion, you have to have great speed, which is probably gained from playing at an early age i guess (like paco's insane shred); I get a really good tremolo using 3 fingers or even 4 depending on the case. Its difficult to get the consistency in pitch using more fingers, but sounds amazing to me, but i'm self taught in classical, so i'm probably wrong :D
@SerbKangsta thats ok if you are self taught, but the trick is realy is harder keep consistent sound on pami fingers rather than pmim, in way pami is easier you are right because you have probably first taught pami and then you was learning pmim but that just matter of practice to get habit. But have look at other masters on concerts there is no use of pmim. as a trying for different techniques to practice is no question. a good one.and about paco pena, he came from totaly different background
That's not true. P - thumb, I - index f., M - middle f., A - ring f. She said that you can play the tremolo part with ami fingers or mim fingers and she plays it with mim. Sorry, but I don't see you point here...
@AhavaRabboh meant way as it was written down on music sheet just look how it is playing for example john williams :D i know that tremeolo pmim is much more easier that's the point
@tomasemilio the first one is actually the Prelude Bach's Partita No. 3 in E Major for solo violin and the third one is from Bach's cello suites if you were still looking
I only wish she were asked more about her favorite composers, performers and her favorite pieces to play, and her favorite performances by others. I would love to hear her interpret wonderful music of Leo Brouwer, Antonio Lauro, Manuel Ponce.
rain1ny is being clever! He's plugging the electric guitar maker.
Ana Vidovic plays a Jim Redgate lattice top, unless she's had a sudden change of heart. It's is a modern design based on the Greg Smallman original innovation. Externally, the headstock and rosette are the giveaway.
@MegaPickle99 I see that someone responded already, but it's technically, BWV 1006a. I don't mean to be pretentious, but it may make a difference. The Bach catalog is ENORMOUS. There are 4 famous Bach lute suites frequently played on guitar, and 6 cello suites. Those, you may be able to find under "Suite 1, Suite 2," etc. These pieces are cross-referenced in so many ways, that it can be difficult to find what you're looking for.
@1011viktor Hmmm...interesting observation Viktor. Bad technique???? I usually use p-a-m-i but hey, if it works for her. Just tried it and if feels uncomfortable for me to do it Ana's way.

She really slowed down the BWV 1006 prelude. She used to blaze that piece in her younger days.

I hope she has a long and prolific career recording and performing!

@fingerstylefan You can also do pimi and if you add 'a' you get flamenco style tremolo, piami.
