If they just fix some of the faces during the CGI segments it'll be much better. And this music fits perfectly, Berserk isn't about macho violence, it's basically yaoi.

Berserk isn't about blood and nonsense killings. Those are just consequences of the deep criticism inside the story. Specially in the Golden Age arc of the manga, I can think of many scenes where this music would fit beautifully. I can't understand why you're bragging about it.
@MatheusManentee While it's true that it wasn't about the blood and gore, it was there to get a point across, and definitely gave it a certain edge to its genre. It's what separates Itself from other Yaoi dramas like Naruto. I'm seeing more love-story in this movie then needs to be.

I think it fits perfectly fine. A great reflection of Berserk's larger than life characters. It's not the kind of song that should be played in the middle of the movie though I agree.

Why did they have to animate it like this? If was ALL cel-shaded and had a decent framerate like the Appleseed movies, that would be one thing, but this jumps back and forth between regular animation and CGI. The transition is jarring and the CGI parts look really bad.

Me i personally can't wait for the movie. It's so awesome to see Berserk animated like this. Details like how Gut is using a different sword durring the assasination doesn't bother me even the slightest. Doesn't even come up on my radar.
Thing is, some of the changes really do work in a logical narrative sense. Guts having his sword unsheathed before approaching Basuzo, using a mask for the assassination and a more discreet sword (come on, I don't care how "careless" Guts is as a character, as a fucking lifelong soldier he has to have some idea as to how this shit works), and some other small adjustments make a bit more sense than shit like "OH WE WAS JUST MOVING HYPER FAST LOL SO THEY COULDNT SEE HIM LOL."

@Boog609 Basicly, I'm happy as long as they keep the "core" story intact. Visual changes like the shockwave what guts & griffith makes in one of the trailers adds visual flare to a scene. Things like that i'm cool with. And you are right. Adaptations are always different to some degree. In this case they gave Guts a hood to mask him. It's common sense anyone would do that given the task he was given. And a change of sword makes sense as he wouldnt want people knowing who he was.
@BaggysAnime In no way does this "ruin" the movie or destroy a characters personalty. It's just common sense. And any changes they do make in the plot are for the sake of run time and length. This applies to shortening of scenes or merging of scenes. And these changes again do not ruin the story. They lay out a more understandable plot for the first time viewer for Berserk. The changes they have made will probally make sense more when we actually have watched the movie.

These movie adaptations are made in collaboration with him as well, Japanese copy right laws demand that every little change or even the the suggestion of a change be made with the consent of the author/artist of the source material. So those skullknight weirdos are all the more irrational by raging over teasers of an OVA approved by their idol.
I'd like to see what laws you are talking about. I'm not going to pretend I know how the business actually works first hand but from what I've learned the kind of control over creativity you're talking about is simply non-existent in the entertainment industry regardless of what country you're talking about. When an adaptation of something is made the owner of the work signs off that he gives creative control over to another party.

1:40 LOL looks kinda crappy.
But damn, this looks so perfect. The animation on it is sweet. And the attention to detail is perfect. Too bad im sure theres alot of annoying fans that will nitpick on the most smallest of details.
