only in North America can you get an "manny tranny" in the E60 M5. They responded to the American public for a non SMG model. Problem is, the car, engine and 7sp SMG were designed and engineered as one. The 6sp manual in the US, is actually the 6sp manny lifted from the previous E39 generation M5. Therefore, it doesn't respond like the SMG

Well, the interior can be alittle bit more vibrant, it looks dull, especially the centre console. For interior design I prefer Mercedes but exterior, yes, BMW M series are more aggressive and I like that.

Look to Top Gear UK and the E60 M5 review. Jeremy Clarkson who [SL55AMG] and loves Mercedes-Benz cars [Like his joy in testing the Brabus], even said that the E60 M5 he tested is the 'best car I've ever driven'. It means nothing. M5 is brilliant, absolutely brilliant. But if you're not going to take it to a track etc and you're just going to make a lot of highway miles a CLS63 will be an equally good companion, maybe even slightly better.

Having said that, for that sort of usage the new RS6 will rip both to pieces.

M cars aren't what they used to be, they're seriously excellent all round cars though. I'll take an E90 M3 manual any day of the week.

The only thing what is good in Volvo is the engine - it never dies. :-)
