On 0:50 is the location where author Richard "Deek" Ezra Probert spent countless tea and coffee with his craftman friend Archie Raasch. This place is called the Indianhead Cafe. The book " Archie's Way" is a detailed story of an unusual friendship between a young teacher and an elder craftsman-all set in and around Ladysmith, Wisconsin.
I was born here in 1980. We actually lived in Radisson but that town (or village, I should say) is so small, Ladysmith was (and still is) the nearest hospital. My 15-year-old aunt drove my mom there in the dead of winter, in the middle of the night. lolol It's amazing I lived to tell the tale.
Didn't a tornado tear through here a few years ago?
my dad was a teacher at LHS highschool! and i remember my dog Sisco in an Annie Play! he was the dog! hmm lets see what else... oh ya when they created that chinese place by the bridge that place was my favorite! and the mc. donalds when it had the ball pit but now they dont... i moved before they made the wal mart! darn! The tornadoe destroyes my fence. lolz!
i wanna go back!!! i miss my family they all live there and michagen now i live in californa i miss the old smokey train and the weather i was scared of the thunder though but ya... and all my friends! and my old church that i went to was called: First Church of Christ! if you know it... but grrrrr... i remember walking to dairy queen every saturday! my dad was a english high school teacher ther his name in Mr. Dobney or Gary Dobney.... =( *sniff* im crying now... My husband and I and our 3 kids are originally from the inner city of Chicago born and raised except we had our children here in wisconsin. We lived here for 10 years and We love it. We were baptised at the New Hope Apostolic Church next to green acres resturant 2 miles north on 27...gave our lives to Christ. We got married in 99 and God has been blessing us! Ladysmith is a great place to raise a family. My husband started out playing basketball for the Mount. Thank you for showing Ladysmith!
Wow! I hadn't been back there since the tornado went through! Boy does it ever look different with the ole watertower & A&W etc. gone!
That's my hometown, I moved back up there for a few months back in 85,......Wasn't the kind of place for me to live,......But more of a great place to visit! Thanks for sharing!
