Excuse me Heetgas, but is the air redirected back into the tube where the power piston is via the pistons which move horizontally on the sides? Or is it just a beta type? I am new to stirling engines..and very interested, please respond.
@Glewnie This is a twin alpha type Stirling. The air is heated in the glass cylinder with glass displacer in it and is directed to the cold working cylinde through a horizontal bore in the (black) mounting plate (and this 2x).
Thanks for your reaction and friendly greetings from Holland,

This was not that easy; my most complex Stirling, but makable for sure. Unfortunately I didnot make a complete drawing plan yet for this engine; may be I will do that somtime.
I like the way you are driving the sprung displacers via an eccentric lobe. Simpler than a full linkage. But I can't see where the expanded gas is getting into the power cylinders...

What does this device accomplish?

@awesomeguy678
This kind of small model engines mostly don't accomplish much more than turning themselves around and that is the only intention.

What it accomplishes is the encouragement of others of a like mind
and possibly, the advancement of the technology.

It basically is one more way to convert energy from heat to rotational energy. Shows how imaginative the human race can be. 'Nuff said!

@BRIGHTLIGHTSIDE
Groeten,
Jan Ridders

@BRIGHTLIGHTSIDE draaibanken zijn zo duur niet.
kijk eens bij liney machine () com bijvoorbeeld.
of cnc-steuerung () com <---- duitsland

What type of stirling is this? A Beta? A Gamma? Or an Alpha?

@legox50
This is a alpha type.

There are two horizontale bores through the (black) mounting plate connecting the power cylinders to the dispacer cylinders.
