These people are superhuman. A Coast Guard officer can see that there's no one at the wheel of a drifting boat even though the view through his binoculars is miniscule. A woman on the deck of Mike's boat yells a warning to him even though he's about 60 feet underwater.
Environmentally friendly, this show ain't. Mike brags about helping to bring huge oil platforms to what was once a quiet, pristine area. And then he cruelly hooks a Manta ray with a hook and gaffe.

I can't believe the constant arguments on You Tube! Even on a great old show like Sea Hunt some people can find an agenda and argue about illeagals or the President. Why can't you just enjoy the show for what it is. I got me into Scuba Diving. Just like Sky King helped me pursue a pilots license and I even got into skydiving for about 6 years because of Ripcord. I just hope some young kids watching will be insired
Excellent show all around. Did anybody notice the copyright date at the end of the credits: 1956? I know this show started in 1958...was this the pilot? Thanks for any input!
"I was hired by Starkist to help with the low supply of tuna. Then my sultry, seductive assistant Kate had an idea. Plenty of dolphins in this area and they do taste like tuna. Another corporate problem solved by me...Mike Nelson.
Even way back then Hollywood was running interference for the industrialists.
Note how Mike is proud that he helped build these oil rigs where before there was "empty ocean".
Great program with hidden agenda.
Filmland does the same today. Ever notice how ALL illegals are portrayed as homespun job seekers who are just here for the work. As if work grew on trees.
Wow! A conspiracy in everything! (Though I know what you mean...) Eisenhower was President then. As he left the Presidency, he said to beware pf the Military-Industria complex. Surprising statement from a republican...
As for the so-called illegals, in those days, there was plenty of work everywhere. Almost zero unemployment. There was no "out-sourcing" of jobs to other countries. Thank big business for that...
Streets of sf, kojak. all dragnets, all cop shows tell us over and over how wonderful illegals are . The lies continue. America is as big a lie as christianity {or any religion}.
Am making one half of what I made 10 years ago. Can't even enjoy mex food anymore.
A conspiracy in everything? Fucking A
Glad we only live a finite number of days as I can't take much more bullshit.
Uncle Tom Obama will begin cracking down on the net soon. Enjoy while you can. Mazeltov.
I am truly praying for you to find peace of mind. Do not fret or worry. Our Savior is coming to rectify everything. Uncle Tom? Is that any way for an intelligent person to talk?
Be strong in the Lord and have faith. Good WILL win in the end...
Thank God for the Hollywod power machine-Thank God for TV & thank God for the US OIL Indusrtry...Thank God for Brains and sweat- ...If you are so sweet on being anti oil sell your car - You probably own 3...
There has never been a major "spill" on any California Coast resulting from off shore drilling- Just be blessed that there were intelligent men in the 50's who knew better than to eat granola & hug trees- If you don't like the Hollywood industry shut off your You Tube ...
@ You should google Calif. oil spills for the actual history of oil spills in Ca., before spouting off w/ inaccurate information. There have been several offshore oil spills in Calif. The Dos Cuadras oil spill of 1969 was a huge ecological disaster. 80,000 to 100,000 barrels of crude oil were released into the Santa Brabara channel when a Union oil platform blew out. As a So Cal native I can tell you it was a huge deal that affected the coastal environment for several years after.
There's nothing like the old classic TV shows, even in black and white. They were clear and crisp and didn't need special computer effects to have a good storyline. I am looking forward to YouTube having more selection of these old classics I remember as a kid...
