I love the old gospel. It`s what brought the older generation thru many trials- I love you tube - pull up songs i haven`t heard in many, many years. I`m old school. thank you so much. plus I love the Lord
this is priceless!! you cannot find these anywhere...it is nice to come out here and listen...thank you for posting...you wouldn't happen to have rev cleveland singing ...secret closey would you?
I remembered this song when I was very young, and I was going to Gospel Ark Temple Bible Way. The church was annointed under the Spirit of Christ when they choir sung this song. Praise God!
Oh my Gosh! I remembered this song when I went to Gospel Ark Temple Bible Way Church. The senior choir used to sing song under the anointed of Jesus Christ. I loved Jame Cleveland. I cried many times to Christ under his anointed music.
Also good to see Albertina and the Caravans again Rev. Whitman just a lot faces from Chicago, IL
Talking about church we use to have church especially with my Pastor who is now gone on with the Lord, Bishop James L. Anderson, and the Redeeming Church of Christ at Friday Deliverance Service.
on this video, it's good to see Pastor Isaac Whitman, my cousin Deloris Barrett, and my dear good friend who helped me with my voice, Rev. James Cleveland.
this is a true story.............I started playing for my church at age 7 (now 50). My mother went to music store and bought me a gospel book by Roberta Martin.............I played for the senior choir.........(by music) and played for them (and other choirs in my church till i married at 35 and moved to Richmond,Va................I still love these songs, they touched my heart at a young age and up till and even today..................may God bless.
When the other "white boys" were into the ol' blues records, I was into stuff like this: Cleveland, shirley caesar, caravans-- hearin this really brings me back to a great time!! Bless God for James -- and for the Hammond organ too!!!
Glory, glory, glory hallalujah. As someone just said this is true gospel. Oh God how I miss this type of music and services. I thank God I was part of this era.
This is a teasure, this is also good sunday morning church music. i believe this was recorded at mt. pisgha on 46th king dr. chicago il. in the early 80's
I'm 63 and I still go back. I love some of the music from today, but when my soul needs restin' I go back to these old, old songs that never fade away.
Some contemporary gospel is ok, but when you want unquestioned, undiluted and absolute true annointing. There is NOTHING like old school TRADITIONAL. God bless all those who are still with us and receive those who aren't. Thank you for this beautiful piece of annointed history.
People don't,or I should say, can't sing like that.We still have a few that sings like that.We need to go back to that. When i need a blessing from God,Amazing Grace comes to mind.
I had the pleasure (and I DO mean pleasure) of praying with Mrs. Campbell just before her celebration this year. She is ANOINTED. Even from a hospital bed (and I called to check on HER) she encouraged ME! Dig that.

I enjoyed this number greatly.... thank you very much. Reverand Cleaveland has been a inspiration to me. I have just started useing youtube recently...here where I live, I know very few people who enjoy African American Gospel Music...so thankyou for such a variety....yes the Lord is watching over us! my right hand of fellowship extends to you all....... in the beautiful name of JESUS....amen...
Its amazing that I was in the audience. I am so honored to have been a part of some of the greatest history. My Godmother Patti Punch was directing. My uncle the Rev Issac Whittmon was singing. I remember meeting Rubin Lightfoot afterwards and he and my god-mother wrote a hit song. Jesus is real. I thank God for the experrence. Now, I'm producing some of the best music ever recorded.
Hallelujah! I hope that our youth see this, especially in the GMWA. Here are all the stars of that time getting together to bless GOd, without a contract rider. We don't get these kinds of moments at the GMWA anymore. If so, they are very few. God Bless you, minjimmierodgers, for posting this.
This was when gospel music was the real gospel music! God, I miss that great sound! Most everything now is jazzed' up, feels good to the foot' and messed up with no anointing of God!
To ebufford, I also do lament was has happened to our gospel music as a whole.Very few of our young people today under 40 yrs. really know the sound of what has been labeled golden gospel recordings( not the you-tubers, i know you all know)! Also there are other young people than have come to appreciate the real thing in black gospel. However ebufford, i share as others do, your point!
Hi ebufford, Also much thanks for the james cleveland, caravans(my favorite group),roberta martin singers(my other favorite group)video post!I bought the double album set over 20 yrs.ago but is not like being able to watch them(live).Ebufford, sir if you will,go to pewburner records website for golden gospel music c.d.'s you won't find in the stores! This is what I call Sho Nuff Gospel... I don't know what happened, but it just seemed to have gone away. I'm 34 and I always look back to James Cleveland, The Caravans, Mattie Moss Clark, etc. This is what you call real music.
Psalmist84 yeah you are right for the most but Albertina wasn't born in the south and neither was Cleveland but yes they all made their living there.Roberta Martin was born in Arkansas,Sallie Martin was born in Georgia and so was Dorsey Inez was born in Alabama I don't if the barretts wuz born in Chicago or the south someone knows though.
Whu is it that Chi-town got to have all the greats huh!I am so upset yall got Tina,Inez,The Barretts, all the choirs and the big names that gone on like,Mahalia,Cleveland,Dorsey and both Martins we only got Rance Allen and Shirley Murdock lol!
This is real gospel when you heard a gospel song, felt something and knew it was gospel. Now I have to make sure I listen close to tell the difference.
We as the Pentecostal Ambassadors (musician as to myself)remember him as a great person 'off stage'. We are flown in for Keith Pringle's choir anniv. to LA. Rev.
