  • My only problem with my machine: when I turn it off, it goes spinning around the room like an psychotic Dalek on speed.

  • Just got one of these. I've been hand-washing clothes for YEARS, but never had a good way to get them from "sopping wet" to "ready to be hung on drying rack."

Just found out (by calling the company) that you *have to remove the wooden block* thingy on the bottom (just use a phillips screwdriver). And make sure the vessel you're catching the water in is big enough - mine starting overflowing after a minute or so (guess the clothes I put in were pretty wet :).

  • I love mine! It gets soooo much water out!! LOVE it, cuts down drying time by it least 60%

  • Like a big salad spinner ... cool!

  • aww, I remember when I covered the outlet end of it....... it wrecked the machine though... :)

  • wow! 3000rpm dats is alot!

  • cool!

  • I have a thing that looks sort of like this, but it makes ice cream instead.

  • How do they spin? Is it just electric? I want one :))))

  • @jobeanie123 yeah it's just electric, plug it in to a standard outlet.

  • @jenbp60

They've addressed the customer complaint issues. Their most recent rating is A+

  • @gmmcnair Great! So they've fixed that. Now they just need to be BBB accredited. Status: This company is not a BBB Accredited business.

  • @gmmcnair Great! So they've fixed that. I bought the mini spinner with warranty and it was replaced. So I didn't have a problem then (I got warranty to back me up.)

  • i have noticed they are very loud too?

  • @mullconn only if you have an unbalanced load. I've found that if you sort of fold the clothes before putting them into the dryer it helps create a more evenly distributed load. Most of my spins have been pretty quiet, this video is of my first time running it.

  • @redwafer mmmm true that, yeah that does help but i am starting to think mine had sonething loose? as sure it went away and never came back! :( nice vid though :)

  • @mullconn Unless the machine is damaged or the load is unbalanced, they are not all that loud.

  • Does your spin dryer leaks on the bottom? Mine did.

  • @onevoice70 only out of the nozzle where the water is supposed to come out.

  • IDONT GET IT

  • What the fuck! I have a serious concern.

  • it would make an ideal juicer: cram it with chopped up fruit then, put a glass under the spout? (lol).

  • @vulcathene hmm, interesting idea. I think you might want to line it with a canvas bag or something first, otherwise you'll probably end up with a lot of fruit pulp in the machine and your juice. Sanitization could become an issue with this idea though. ;)

  • If you don't mind me asking, how reliable has the dryer been, and how was The Laundry Alternative to work with?

  • @mx4123 I haven't had any issues with the dryer (other than sometimes being too lazy to use it) and my experience with The Laundry Alternative is limited to me ordering the spin dryer from their website and them sending it to me with no issues.

  • my bumbass brother paid 152$ for 1 of these HaHa

  • hey, us guys in the uk have washing machines that spin at 2000 rpm, so we dont use spin dryers!!

  • We do not have automatic machines in the UK that spin at 2000rpm. The fastest spin on a UK automatic washing machine is 1600rpm. Yes we do use spin dryers in the UK and they are on sale at most retailers. A spin dryer spins at approximately 2,800.

  • @Greenstead i have a gorenge which has a spin of 2000 rpm, (purchased at house of frazer!!)

  • I have a georengi automatic which has a spin of 2000rpm, my last machine was a Aeg which had a max spin of 1800rpm.

  • It sounds louder than usual in this video. This could be due to an unbalanced load and/or the volume settings. They are certainly louder than the Mini Countertop Spin Dryers which is very quite. A lot of the sound comes from the rapidly spinning perforated drum.

  • I notice you bought yours from The Laundry Alternative. Mine stopped working after only six uses and The Laundry Alternitive ignored all my requests for assistance. AVOID THE LAUNDRY ALTERNITIVE.

  • Hmmm. I have one I bought from them and it is working just fine. I emailed them several times and got responses all the times I emailed them. Even when I gave them suggestions or let them know something about this thing, I got polite responses. May be you emailed them before they had more help with customer service?

  • I've since gotten a replacemnt spinner from The Laundry Alternative. It seems I tried to contact them before they had someone in place to respond to customers.

  • Thanks for the demo. I use the Mini Spin Dryer and have been thinking about upgrading to the big one. Does it always sound so loud or was it just unbalanced? Thanks!!!

  • It always makes noise because it is spinning super fast. Even the one mounted on the wall at FSU to spin wet bathing suits dry was loud. That's just the nature of these things. If it is off balance it does thunk against the sides, so you just have to open it, re-distribute the clothes and pack them down, and start up again. But it does work and work well.

  • This load was unbalanced. As you use it more often you learn how to achieve a better load balance (basically cram everything in as hard as you can) and it runs much quieter than you hear in this video.

  • @redwafer Yes, it's important to push down on the clothes with the clothes protector too, as this makes them more balanced.
