its not that the 760 is slow, its that the 4.6 is fast.. do research, they only made 3000 X5 4.6 models in the world. and they made it well...

We have also recently gone up against the Range Rover Vogue Sport, and the 760Li stayed in front, not full throttle. Then again the range rover is heavier. But 750hp in the Range Rover's engine is pretty nice... compared to the 438hp in the 760Li. It was a close match actually... but in long run the 760Li is much faster.

sometimes people could mistake the number because of the way its placed on the car, it happens... other than that i loved the video. And bungarz886 is right about the tire things, the 760Li does not wheel spin, ever. Even if the floor is wet, the tires don't spin, BMW did a great job on the 760Li.

nice input, however i would like to let you know that it is my friends car, and i see it almost everyday. its a 760Li and i've seen the engine too.

unfortunately, my friend was reluctant to participate in the drag, as he's never done it before, so he was kinda amateur with the settings and launch.

The 750Li has a 12 cylinder engines as does the 760Li... the engines are visually identical. So visually you won't notice the difference. Have you seen the badge on back that says 760Li, because the 750Li looks similar to the 760Li badge. I know the performance of these cars and I have had the chance to drive them both, there is just no comparison between both.

I don't think that was a 760Li... maybe it was... but the 760Li does 0-60 in 5.4s, the 750li does it in around 6.4s which is the time of that x5 4.6L's 0-60. We own a 760Li and it beat a Ferrari 360 modena in a straight line race from about 40km/h to around 180km/h not enough room for more, but the 760li left it behind. We have gone up against even the new x5 4.8L and it doesn't reach the 760Li. Are you sure it was a 760Li? im about 90% sure that is a 750Li.

those tires should never have spun in the 760. when i was test driving one they exclusively made me test in, my foot to the floor in wet gravel to show how the new launch control will not let the wheels spin. i couldnt make my old 745 wiht the same system spin to save my life.

Hang on, the x5 does have an AWD system but its on Xdrive, its only Xdrive in the facelifts

well, technically the 760, with its v12 making over 400hp should win, as opposed to the BMW X5 4.6 which makes about 320hp or so, and they weigh about the same.. only advantage that the X5 has is its AWD system (xDrive) which would give it a quicker launch... however, the BMW 760 is much faster and quicker in acceleration.

at the finish line that we decided, it was X5 just half a car's length ahead of 760.

The X5 said had the stip been few meters longer, the 760 wouldve easily taken over.

it should be the X that won ... the 760 dropped all its power into smoke at the start whereas the X5 had its 4WD on and got away a lot faster
