  • the classic tires were huge! I want to know teh size?

  • i have one exactly like yours..... do you have air or coil suspention

  • @bebobblebobble - No. I'm running the electronic air suspension with a redundant bypass syatem for backup. I've replaced most components of the system including all airbags, compressor, valave block etc...so it's pretty much brand new. Works a treat.

  • @smeary10 u must have spent a lot of money on it. am thinking of getting range rover p38 how reliable is it as I will be doing shidloads of off roading. would you recomend isuzu trooper over it?

  • @shav4life - No. I have spent nothing, really. There's no modifications. Everything is standard. I love the P38, so I would recommend it.

  • @smeary10 Quick question for you. I'm looking for a P38 now for a weekend cruiser and general woods rig. I have heard nightmares about the air suspension, even up through the new body style, what are you thoughts since you have one personally, and per your comment above, that you have spent 'nothing, really'...how much, under $500? $1k? I am seeing the older RR's all over eBay for very good prices and would like to pick on up if you really do suggest one. Early thanks for the reply!

  • @LGeorge18- @LGeorge18 - The first 12 months of ownership cost me a little as I replaced most of the air suspension. Having said that, I now know enough people to have done the same thing for much less. If you're in the States, it will be cheaper again. Less then $2K. Buy it.

  • Nice car! My fav.

    Kisses. Maria Inês.

  • i have a p38 and 110. both exellent cars. p38 will go places 110 wont. been offroading 25 years and gotta say the guy driving this p38 is up there with the best drivers ive seen.thanks for posting.

  • would you say these were better than most jeeps, cos i sure would.

  • @godzillaisnuclea123 - Easily. And twice as good on Sundays. Both on and off road. In every way.

  • good driver,great car

  • @aluminium4ever - And that's a complimet brother. Cos I am a bloody good driver. But God knows, the Range Rover is a GREAT car. I could never be an equal with such a perfect machine.

  • @aluminium4ever Agreed. Nice driving and love the Range Rover.

  • nice range rover

  • Theirs a legend in Land Rover circles of three white standard P38as coming across two tricked out Jeep Wranglers on the Rubicon, after getting bored of waiting for a Jeep to climb a boulder, one Wrangler owner suggests passing them and going on there way, of which they do. Lol.

  • Awesome, cross-linked air suspension, working beautifully. Excellent work mate!

  • @SamTheSuave - Ta mate. Great fun.

  • Thats pretty nice man... I would put a little support on the front bumper though or put a hand made one on the front if it scraps it wont pull your plastic bumper off. happen to me a lot in california foot hills.

  • @oddsource - Agreed mate. I'm getting a proper aluminium bull bar with winch on the front and proper steel rear bar with wheel carrier. It will increase my approach and departure angles as well as strength significantly.

  • 1:05 cross-linked air suspension at work. thaat system offers the best of independent air suspension and live axle. love it!

  • @DisposableWarrior the p38 range rove has live axles front and back no independent suspension

  • My parents have a 03 disco 2 V8, but the block on 4.0 cracked, so a new engine was needed so they purchaced(srry if i spelt wrong) a 4.6 short

    .

And in my opinion its the far superior engine.

  • @MrBeastandtheharlot - Yep. Great engine. In this clip I have my 4.6 HSE and my mate has an identical coloured 4.0 SE. The 4.6 is the same engine which derived from the original 3.5 block. The difference between the 4.6 and 4.0 is that the 4.6 is stroked to give the extra capacity and power. Not really quicker off the mark, but I have a faster top speed than my mate's 4.0 and the extra torque (towing/climbing ability). 4.6 would have dropped straight into your parent's Disco. Same engine.

  • ... and if it has diff locks, how do you activate them?

  • The P38 does not have diff-locks. My car has traction on the rear only. From 98 onwards, traction appears on both front & rear. You can get difflocks installed, though. I'd only need one on the rear. They are activated with compressed air. The beauty about the P38 is that we already have a source of compressed air for our suspension. So, you get it plumbed into that. You activate the diff-lock by firstly pressing a button to get the air going, then another button to activate the diff-lock.

  • All right. I Love range rovers! I love all land rovers, but especially range rovers.

I love the p38's the most.

  • Does a P38 have diff-locks, or does it only have traction control?

  • Great vid mate, Nice to see some P38 rangies off road :-) I had a 300TDI classic with air. Great off road with T/C but did have a few problems with it. Now back to defenders that i have always had

  • Great to see you guys getting dirty in your Range Rovers, looks like you had a lot of fun.

Do you mind me asking whereabouts this was? I'm near Sydney, and unfortunately the councils have been closing off a lot of the tracks close by

  • @mekadodo thanks mate. This one was at Appin. Just near Bulli/Wollongong. Now closed off. We tend to head to the Blue Mountains now. My other vid is shot there.

  • Great articulation on the p38. I thought it would be rubbish in the bush, but it is really impressive. When compared with the Classic, it has better articulation.

    And i love the Classic...

Any problems related with EAS?! Any electrical problems related to offroad activities?

I might get on of those my september, but it needs to be rough in the wild to keep up with LC's and GR's.

  • They're brilliant off road. Get the right tyres and they'll not only keep up with the Cruisers and alike, but will leave them behind. They simply don't have anywhere near the articulation of a P38. Power and torque of the V8 is also a plus. Even though they are very thirsty. EAS problems? Yeah I've had couple over the 5 years. Have a redundant bypass system now, so she can't throw her hands in the air whilst off road. All good though. Part and parcel of the P38. You'll love it mate.

  • I would like to know more about that redudant bypass system.

    Best Regards

  • Find the following person on eBay. They're here in Australia. He makes them. son_of_bundalene. It presents 5 tyre valves on an alloy block which you install under your bonnet which you can pump up the air suspension and fill the tank with with any other air supply and then lock them off. Brilliantly simple.

  • Get in touch with son_of_bundalene on eBay. He's here in Australia. He can send it to you via mail mate.

  • That's just great. I will check that out.

  • Does a Gaylander even have a diff lock?

  • Na. But neither did the 2 P38 Range Rovers.

  • good to see some aussies in the rangies bush bashing, so sick of landcruiser vids

  • Thanks mate. Wait till the next trip over Christmas break. That'll be a doozy. Don't worry about Land Cruisers mate. They're tractors that can't keep up with us on or off road.

  • Can you do that in a standard Hilux?

I doubt it! LR all the way!

  • H1 is also very impresive

  • pure off road

  • Un bloody real. I currently drive a shorty paj, somewhat modified and im looking at upgrading to a p38 rangie, but a few of my mates got wind and said "you can't take those off road", so i will be showing a few people this vid and i just might buy one as well, cheers and keep up the good work.

  • You cab definitely take these off road. Actually, there's not much, standard, that will keep up with it. I'm not sure what your mates drive, but see if they can keep up with your P-38. Then hit the freeway and see if they can keep up. Good luck mate.

  • I drive mine where i want to go,and don't stick to the tarmac...been stuck a few times too ...use them for what they are intended......the quickest ive had mine to is 170kph.

  • I was going to trade mine in fot the latest vogue or the range rover sport supercharged, but i didn't think much of the dash layout in the latest vogue ...not as much wood in the interior.

  • Yeah. My wife has the latest Vogue. It's a bloody nice car, but not what I'm looking to take off road. She'd kill me if I did to her Vogue what I do to my HSE.

  • Great sound system in the p38 too...harmon/kardon...awesome sound.

  • Yep. Pretty good stuff standard. Mine has the H&K gear in it.

  • nice one...i have the vogue model 2002 4.6...great to drive...i take it offroad all the time.

  • Nice. Comfy too.

  • Brilliant film mate, I'm glad to see you drive your Rover where its meant to be driven =)

  • Thanks mate. Just like the Poms in Sollihull intended.

  • Great video.

    Thanks for posting... ;)

  • No probs Flash. We're going out again soon, so there should be somemore good footage.

  • how on earth have you gotten so many views! That is incredible!

  • I responded with one of my videos so you can see what I've done with mine. I might be getting rock sliders put on it soon too

  • Nice. I'm getting front and back bullbars with wheel carrier etc... there's a mob here in Australia that's making the world's first proper snorkel for them as well. I'll let you know when they're available. You can install yourself apparently. There's some suspension mods without messing with the EAS as well. love my P38, i do.

  • I would love to see that snorkel! I was driving home today thinking about some deep water/mud spots I wanna hit, but I am afraid my intake will suck up some mud. The only things I dislike about my Range is how the intake system works, with that said, I would be very interested in the snorkel.

  • No worries. This will be a Safari styles jobby that will run down the left hand "A pillar" and into the clam shell bonnet on that side with a short outside run. It will then work it's way into the airbox from there. Should be good. He'll make a fortune if he pulls it off. I'll absolutely post it up here on my 2 Rangie vids to let everyone know. He'll be sending the kits all around the world as well, no no dramas there. That'll open up a whole new level of deep water wading for us.

  • Yep i´ll sign on that. i managed to bend the shit out of one of my connecting rods and cracking a piston as i was driving a little too fast through 60cm of water same place as i have gone much faster with both my former pajero and toyota hilux.

Love the Rangi tough. but the air intake is just plain stupid

  • Agreed. Hard Range out of WA are working on a snorkel for them. Self fit jobby. Can't wait.

  • Don't know mate. Just popped up here on the interporn and away she went.

  • The thing about Rangies is this: You can get it ankle deep in shit and it will get you through it, and at the end of mud plugging day, wash it, then take the WAG out for dinner in a posh restaurant and will not look out of place next to an S-Class.

No other car can do this.

  • I have said this over and over:) It's what I love about my Range Rover

  • Spot on peanuts. Nothing else has the Jekyll and Hyde factor like a Rangie.

  • 00:30 second bit is a wimp bit its a small rock like any car can get over that but the rest pal is good i want my car to go over

  • It's a lot worse than it looks on film. But thanks anyway mate.

  • No problem pal is that your car though?

  • Yep. There's actually 2 different P38 Range Rovers here. Both the same colour. Mine, the HSE 4.6 and my friend's SE 4.0. The best way to pick us apart in this vid is that I have the spotlights and nudge bar on the front and the 5 spoke HSE wheels.

  • awesome !!

  • range rover classic rti 703 standard.

    p38 rti 600 standard.

  • Yep, yep & yep. Road tyres as well.

  • cool vid! i drive a 73 rrc every day no problems,

and someone still hasnt shown me a vechile that has a higher ramp travel index like a rrc standard,

some m/t tyres on ya p38s would look great,

:) whats every other none l/r 4x4 do to try and keep up with them!!!after market lockers and axles, offroad tyres and maybe a v8.

  • Thanks gonfellon. You're spot on, brother. Not much, standard, can keep up off or on-road. I'm getting very lumpy mud tyres, a snorkel and a slight lift without losing air suspension. Then we'll see how that goes. then if necessary, diff locks and away we go. Then NOTHING will keep up except those purpose built hard core things. But I'll be able to drive home in comfort.

  • Comment removed

  • In addition to my comment below. Yes Rovers have good articulation but the P38 isn't as good as the MKII, RRS, and LR3 with the cross linked. Grand Cherokees have pretty good articulation themselves though. In summary, Rovers have better suspensions, but QuadraDrive is a much better 4wd system. I'd stick with my rover though anyday..

  • I agree mate. The new Land Rovers (RRS, LR3, MKIII) are all years ahead of everyone else now with their off-road ability. The new Terrain Control system is mind boggling. They just go anywhere and work it all out themselves - suspension height, traction control, wheel spin, power usage to each wheel - unbelievably brilliant. Don't get me wrong, Jeeps are good. But year for year, not as good as a Land Rover.

  • Comment removed

  • Land Rover are British. That means that they are inherently unreliable and costly to repair. That was up until BMW bought them and produced the LR3, MkIII etc... They are now much more reliable and reasonably priced to fix. The problem with once being unreliable and costly is that the perception stays with you for many years after it's fixed. Just ask Jag, MG, Triumph etc... Ask Alfa, Fiat, Lancia, Ferrari & Lambo about rust perceptions that originated from the 80's.

  • Comment removed

  • ratings very low on dependability why? educate me

  • And Jeeps are dependable? If cars from the US were reliable, you wouldn't have invented your lemon laws.

  • horrific reliability record?they just fall apart

  • If US cars were a top world wide product, the whole US automotive market wouldn't be going bankrupt like it is right now. Your Jeep will be owned by Fiat by June. That's a good thing too.

  • just like quadradrive systems

  • Not really. Jeep's Quadradrive system is good, no doubt. However, Land Rover's articulation and 4WD system is the best in the world, bar none. Jeep's don't have the articulation or ground clearance of Land Rovers. Period.

  • As the owner of both Land Rovers and Jeeps this is what I can tell you. In this specific situation it doesn't really matter. The P38 Range Rovers in the video appear to be pre 1999.5 meaning they have only rear Traction Control and a center locking diff. The Quadradrive system is far superior as it as a Center locking diff and front and rear limited slips. The Range Rovers have the advantage of ~2" extra clearance with the air susp and they are heavier which I personally prefer.

  • Hi! I really want to get a P38, I didnt know they did so well off road! I drove a 96 Defender 110 for a security job keeping traveling folk off a farmers field after a couple festivels had been held, it had been raining for all 3 and the field was a mess! So much fun and that thing was unstoppable! However I am a student, I will be getting a job, is a diesel P38 any good? Because I will be doing the same security job this year, Or should I stick to my Astra and hope it doesnt rain!

  • Get the Rangie. Then it won't matter if it snows. I don't know about the oil burners (diesel) as we never had them here in Australia in the P38 or Classic.

  • To Ninjafoolz

"If I'm sooooo fuckin poor then y did my dad just pay for me to go to yale without a scholarship?"

No Scholarship because your soooo fuckin STUPID!

  • ye i have a question. i had a 97 land rover disco and i had lot of fun with it in even more hardcore terrain than in your picture (see my vid)

now i bought a 98 range rover but the thing is so nice i am worried something will happen to it when i take it on a rough trail. is it built as good as a land rover disco? and i also heard that the air ride can blow up in terrain like this..

  • Yep. The P38 is better built and better both on and off road than the Disco. The Disco was designed as a lower entry product. Great car by all means, but a Range Rover is a superior vehicle in every way. Take it off road mate. You'll see and you'll love it. There's not much standard that can keep up with a Rangie.

  • HAHAHA! I'm still wondering, what the hell is a mog!?

Anyway, Rangerovers are fuckin' sweet. I have an Xterra 4x4 but I can't wait to get rid of it for a Rover.

  • Love ya work, brother. Fuck only knows what MOG is. But I can say this, it's not standard and Fuck Knuckle runs around Youtube comparing it to standard vehicles. Completely understandable why he spends his time around Land Rover. Isn't it? Enjoy my friend. There is no better. King of the road. Welcome to Land Rover, Brother.

  • I can totally afford a landy I just think it wouldn't b worth it

If I'm sooooo fuckin poor then y did my dad just pay for me to go to yale without a scholarship?

if I'm sooooo fuckin poor then y do I live in a mansion?

if I'm sooooo fuckin poor why did my dad put me on the waiting list for a lamborghini super-galardo???????

a mog is a much better choice personally I really don't care about comfort I care about performance

  • wow smart ass . lets see my dad payed 4 yale my dad owns a mansion your dad put u on a list 4 a lamborghini ? never saw i or me if there u ass hole

  • lol shotgun boy got "shotdown" whats a mog? lemme spell it out:

    M: Major

    O: Offroad

G: Gaymosexuals.... who cant afford Land Rovers.

    LOL.

Jk to each his own i suppose.

  • lol.

I thought MOG was "munchin' on gonads".

    lofl

  • Someone forgot to take their pills this morning. Didn't they? You're so full of shit your breath stinks. Fuck off, off my Youtube site and get your hand off your dick. Yale, mansion, Gallardo...ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha.Yeah right. Cos every millionaire brat kid gets on to Youtube bragging about it. You are living reason why trailer trash cousins shouldn't fuck. Consider yourself blocked as well, Fuckwit.

  • thats gay my mog could do that easily

landrovers are a waste of money

  • Jesus wept. Special comments from the moron brigade and his toy truck.

  • shotgunboy....wow. someone cant afford a range rover... jealousy much? or is the eas too complicated for you to understand?? just got my first p38, coil conversion soon to come. im excited.

    LAND ROVER.....BEST 4X4XFAR .

  • LOFL

  • u are just sayin that cuz u can't afford one.lol

  • good man you must be my long lost soul m8 you take a range rover where it belongs and then know how to drive it. :)

  • Ta mate. And loving it.

  • cool, i got the same one! again, great driving, and a beautiful truck.

  • Thanks mate.

  • great driving! does this truck have those sway bar disconnect things or is this stock suspension? oh, and are those Gen 3 airbags?

    just wondering.

  • All stock standard mate. No Gen 3 airbags yet either. Will get them when these wear out, though. Just caressing her across the rocks mate. Nice and easy, letting the famous Land Rover articulation do it's thing.

  • landcruisers4life2 has been blocked for being an uneducated, inflammatory, antagonising, abusive, dumb fuck. His final message has also been removed. His username alone clearly precludes him from accepting any facts brought to his attention that may challenge the performance of anything else compared to his beloved rice burner (Land Cruiser). Absolute moron. I'm sure the rest of you nice people will understand.

  • Just another "Perfect" example of why converting to Coil Springs is NOT THE WAY TO GO!

  • I agree mate. I was going to convert to springs, but have decided against it. I've now found a valve based locking system for the EAS which can be topped up with my portable compressor. Then locked in. The computer can't throw its hands up in the air if the going gets REALLY rough like it has once before. Very happy.

  • I have driven that track. Without diff locks mister landcruiser4life2 that you have obviously would have no chance.I know this for a fact .Took the treasurer of the landcruiser club out for a look around before there club meet.Dont have DIFF LOCKS but he did.His comments were im very impressed with the RANGE ROVER......

  • gotta love Appin

  • terrible articulation, look how fast it lifted a tire

  • You're kidding about Land Rovers having terrible articulation. Aren't you?

  • not trying to bash you to bad, its refreshing seeing someone taking a P38 off road. as for your question...no im not kidding, they do have terrible articulation(as shown in video) and an all in all unaffective off road suspension, its smooth as silk for on road but not off road, and dont get me started on how insanely unreliable they are!

  • Coil sping conversion will and do creat terrible articulation, while remaining with the stock EAS is without any doubt, make Range Rover superior to any Off Roader bar none.

  • no its not the wheels leave the ground quite fast, and could never compare to real solid axles and lockers like a Land Cruiser has, and the stock eas only lasts a year or so...its garbage, and is a terrible off road vehicle

dont get me started on RELIABILITY

  • rr do have solid axles

  • they have independent suspension(the new ones) and the old ones had a crapy designed air suspension with VERY weak small axles, they can never keep up with real solid axles and lockers(the Land Cruiser)

  • m8 what the hell are you on about range rover has one of if not the best suspention/ articulation systems ever created

  • it would need to have articulation 4 u to call it the bests system in the world!

  • great car and great music

  • wow..now that's real offroad driving,nice video

  • Thanks mate. I'm going to start doing up my Rangie now with mud tyres, diff locks, snorkel etc... Will make a big difference.

  • Absolutely awesome!!! I just recently lifted my P38 a couple of inches!! thanks for the inspirations!!!

  • My pleasure. Nice to see someone appreciate a similar interest.

  • Bravo, this video is awesome its good to see P38's treading off road.

  • Thanks mate. More to come.

  • good stuff

my transmission on my 95 classic went so i got one of these

    only a 4.0 se though

i havent had the chance to do anything with it yet although this really makes me want to haha

  • There's both a 4.6 and a 4.0 here if you look closely. Look for the difference in rims. 3 spoke - 4.0 SE, 5 spoke - 4.6 HSE. Both did equally well.

  • Very Good Driving!

  • Thanks mate. Had a ball.

  • Got to love the P38. Does anyone know where i can purchase a winch bumper for my P38. Ive tried "rockrover" but they dont supply to the UK???

  • There are some custom manufacturers out there. i know of some here in Australia, but I'm sure there are some in Old Blighty. Unfortunately, due to the low build quality of the P38, they must be measured and fitted on a car by car basis. Same with rear bumper/wheel carriers. that's why nobody has mass produced them for sale.

  • thanks for the info

  • Aw mang I think I want a P38A what a beast!

  • Mate, wait for the new vid on it's way from last weekend here in Sydney (long weekend).

  • my father drives his up 50 degree wet grassy hills in da back garden on road tyres. in that car you can do just about anything. best offroader ever created

  • Yes, they go well.

  • Nice technique with the P38s. Goes to show that clever driving on road tyres can get you the same places as brute force on big fuck off tyres (as shown by the classic). Brute force can be more fun though :D

  • Thanks mate. The P38's are extremely capable off-roaders. A little common sense and some technique goes along way, as you suggested. I agree with brute force - have that on tap with my 4.6 if necessary. Particularly on the sand dunes of Stockton Beach. Very handy. But equally satisfying to perform the same as others with much less effort and much more pomp and ceremony. Ease, if you will. It pisses the others off no end. ;-)

  • i respect you man. what size tires are you runnin on that

  • Thanks mate. The two P38's are running Coopers 245/70x16's. Standard size and about 70/30 on-road/off-road.

  • finially someone doing what they are suppose to do in a range rover!!! not just going to the store to buy coffie or crusing down the M4 with crome wheels

  • Great stuff mate. I love seeing P38A's being used as the Creator intended. I've just had mine fitted with Arnott Gen3 air springs and have gained an extra 35mm lift on the off-road setting. Can't wait to try them out.

BTW: I respect Hummers, Cruisers and Patrols but there is nothing quite like a Rangie.

Come on down Canberra way sometime - there are some great tracks out in the Brindabellas.

  • Thanks mate. Yeah, respect for everybody else, but a clear understanding of who's at the top of the food chain. I've heard about the tracks around Canberra. Might have to one day. We quite often camp near Batemans so a quick zip over the tablelands and I'm there!!

  • Nice! Keep enjoying your trucks on the trail...How far did the Freelander make it?

  • It did well considering it didn't have a low gear ratio. Where we were off-road in the south coast of New South Wales, at every obstacle was a choice of varying difficulty. So the Freelander did most except the absolute hard core obstacles which it opted for an easier route. Clearance, power and simple laws of physics were it's problem. However, there was a Suzuki Vitara (brand new) with us and it was no better than the Freelender even though it had a low gear ratio. Thanks for the comment.

  • at last a p38 doin what it should do... so sad that 90% of them wont even enter a field.. nice job

  • Thanks Clumpy. What's even sadder is that they're one of the most capable off-road vehicles, standard of course, available. Particularly in their day. Not many standard 4WD vehicles can keep up both on & off the road.

  • A good driver in a great vehicle over some challenging terrain. Well done.

  • Thanks mate. It's actually harder terrain than it looks. Film doesn't do it justice. It's at a place called Appin. South coast of NSW.

  • nice work.

  • If you want to watch more have a search for: 2007 Boys Weekend 4x4 Teaser - we do this everyyear. you all might enjoy

  • and THATS how a Range Rover should be used, not crusing the streets of la

  • Absolutely, brother. We call them Toorak Tractors here in Australia. Toorak being the posh expensive suburb with all the richest residents in Melbourne.

  • haha thats so true but those Range Rovers arent cheap either

  • RR is good but nothing is a match for the hummer h1 .. no matter how much u hate it and no matter whats wrong with it its no match off raod by any stock land rover

  • Maybe. I'm not in a position to comment, however, there are a number of points about your comment that must be highlighted. Firstly, the H1 was designed originally as a military vehicle. So a little unfair. Secondly, the engine in an H1 is bordering on ridiculously expensive to run in the civilian world. Thirdly, I have seen videos here on YT that show an H1 not doing as well off road as a Toyota Hilux.

  • range rover = #1

  • this is the best video about p38, congratulations, I love rr's.

  • brillat vid thank you nice p38a

  • I have a 98 p38 hse in red.. i guess its kinda rare or somthing idk haha some guys in a jeep were making fun of me before I took it out on the trail sayin how im gona get my pretty rims scratched up and my leather int. dirty lol i passed them about half way up the trail listing to classical music they were stuck couldnt make it up some rocks...i made it just fine it was priceless hahaha but i think my air suspension is brokin it will raise up like 8in its kinda scary :) but fun to tease people

  • I'm an american with a P38, these other guys are chumps. P38's are some of the best vehicles on the road, they've just got a bad rap and are easy to fix if you're not a moron and don't pay your dealer $120 / hour to work on it.

  • I agree mate.

  • It is fascinating to see what a company with great expertise and ideas - Land Rover - can actually do with big bucks behind them. - BMW and more recently Ford. Their reliability issues are long gone. I agree about English cars too. But LR is not really English any more. Not where it matters anyway. After the unreliable crap that country has produced over the years, it's no wonder they don't own a car company any more. They don't bloody deserve it. :-)

  • Well now, the order is Bowler, LR, etc. But the Bowler is a LR anyway... :P

  • how is it? the only, ONLY, similarity is the headlight

  • So the P38A is all stock? If so, i forgot how good the ground clearance is on those. Just wondering, hows the reliability? Obviously general consensus, since a. its' a Land Rover, and b. it's English, it isn't all that reliable and DiscoIIs are somewhat better. I'm looking to get a P38 in the future which is why i ask. And at least you have your air suspension working. Those guys over at Land Rover Only etc have nothing nice to say about them haha.

  • Look, they're brilliant cars if you can can a good one. You're spot on about their reputation. I've spend probably AUD$8K replacing air suspension, water pump etc..all those things that tend to go la la. Now I have an extremely capable 4WD that not much can keep up with standard. Clearance is unrivalled and yes, my 4.6 HSE is completely standard. Other than the iPod stereo & bluetooth hands free :-) You can get them quite cheaply now, so good luck. It's worth it.

  • This video does show how good the rover's traction control is but it also looks like it took some body damage in the process. Its nice to see a high end grocery getter hold it's own on a dirt trail too bad it's pretty expensive and has limited clearance. Cool movie.

  • No damage was done and the clearance on the P-38 Range Rover would challenge any other car. Especially as we have adjustable air suspension. Just press a button and the car raises from low setting to high a total of 6 inches. Articulation and 4WD technology gets you through. Not traction control.

  • bet you spent 2K gettin the scratches out of it
