  • ..."an extinct CONSTELLATION"? The commentary is beyond idiocy.

  • wow, the commentary is really informative... seriously, how smart are the people they put on the news??? If that guy is actually a meteorologist he would definitely understand how a meteor burns in our atmosphere. pathetic.

  • Comment removed

  • Yeah, I just don't know..uh I mean they, they die, they lose that, that light, they're burning up.

So profound! lol He just rewrote the book on meteors (which this obviously is not).

  • Start of with using Christs name in vain, end with a comment like tampons have brains, and get top rating. I dont know why I keep looking at stupid, baby whining, gov depending users comments. I agree with On The Run 167, space junk. If you come to Youtube for 100% accurate info, you are barking up the wrong tree. If I dont want to hear the audio but only want to see the video, I know where there is a little speaker shaped icon that I push and waalaa.

  • That's space junk. Meteors don't disintegrate like that.

  • This was not a meteor but the remnant of a satellite re-entering earth's atmosphere over the area at about the same time the meteor shower took place. I can't remember the satellite but it was mistaken for a meteor. Meteors are moving at 20-40 times faster than a re-entering shuttle or disintegrating satellite.

  • "extint constellation? rocket exploding? Fizzle? a meteorologist not a meteor-ologist?

they die?" Where is the 7 seconds censorship retard?

  • Why does it just fizzle away?? ... the way... we're going to see it.. fizzle?

  • What a moron.

Wow! But why not show the wholevent?

    When?

    Any sonic boom later heard?

  • Mute this video! I can't express my anger at how stupid these news presenters are. It's not even funny how stupid they are.

  • Lol he said tits n the women got honey

  • "like a rocket taking off" Wooowwww. Dumb bitch.

  • there was actually a really amazing meteor crash in denmark some years ago, I was lucky to see it actually. I was drinking a beer in the garden, and reading a paper, with my garden lamp turned on, and then all of a sudden the sky flashed up, and I saw the meteor, I actually heard the slight impact, but it was from a LONG LONG distance. even the smallest meteors flashes the sky clear bright.

    Sounded like a "K-bom............................" =P

  • Lol. Why they "fizzle away"? That's too fucking funny. I kinda appreciate overseas news anchors for not being uptight as swedish one's though.

  • "Why does it fizzle away like that?"

    "I dunno"

    Oh ffs ¬_¬

  • mjah, as ignorant as they can be there... did not they have anybody smarter to comment that marvellous footage....

  • Before you blast this "fucking idiot", check your sources: "The name comes from Quadrans Muralis, an extinct constellation that is now part of Boötes. It lies between the end of the handle of the Big Dipper and the quadrilateral of stars marking the head of the constellation Draco." Source: Wikipedia obtained 2/10/11

FYI: Several respected scientific journals and website state the meteor shower does in fact radiate from an "extinct constellation".

  • Uh.......that wasn't a meteor. that's the debris of the Columbia shuttle. And the other pieces? yeah... that's what's left of the crew. Feeling really stupid now are ya, Faux News?

  • Tardastic

  • oh starbucks 0:09

  • well if you know that these newscaster have lied in the past in 06-07 trying to make shit intresting, and i know they dont come from constillations, and because most meteors are piece of asteroids most of em come from the belt from ,mars/ jupitor, and ps for you,at least learn to see peoples point of view instead of criticizes and not know exept for your knowledge, your ignorance is like a cli-chay

  • It sounds like his producer Googled the word meteor, clicked on the first sponsored link, printed out the information and handed it to him five minutes before going on the air.

I'm surprised Miss Fizzle didn't tell all the viewers to make a wish.

  • fizzle

  • No these are probably the most retarded reporters ever. This is footage of the Space Shuttle Columbia disaster.

  • Fizzle away I just can't understand ... why does it fizzle away ... just fizzle.... ... fizzle .

God what a bunch of tards.

  • I bet that newscaster thought that was an extinct constellation entering the atmosphere. Also that wasn't a meteor shower. Idiot newscasters.

  • really like a rocket,i knoe ppl that get high and are smarter than these ppl, like a rocket really go home

  • @123456789107530 your dumb shes saying that becuase it looks like the space shuttle columbia when it exploded

  • @invertballer12 look whos talking your listening and probably beliving what they say, there not that smart and you sound like a retard i bet to

  • @123456789107530 your stupid look it up I go to college and study this shit you have no idea what your talking about

  • @invertballer12 i do know and even my teacher say that about them, and your more of a imbread and niehter do these news cast they make up alot of shit, meteros dont come from constellation and it take more than over 300 years just for a star to blow up

  • @123456789107530 No you obviously dont they dont come from the constellation . They call it the quadrint shower becuase if you trace the trails it leads to where quadrint constellation was! PS back your shit up before you start saying shit you dont know

  • yea soo amazing fuking dumb ameicans wait till it kills us assholes

  • @bizzybez real bad ass talkin shit on internet stupid fat fuck

  • looks like a rocket taking off?!! What the hell woman!!

  • its jus Chuck Norris skydiving

  • really, you could not do some reading or research before going on air? Its beautiful and amazing, somewhat ruined but the wondering of 'why does it fizzle?" and the self serving "I wonder if we were the only ones who got that?" Spoils the moment a bit aye? The meteorologist really does not know why debris burns and glow when it hits the atmosphere at 25000+ MPH? I have never seen a living constellation, much less and "extinct" one. Natural beauty... American UGLY... but at least they smile?

  • this why i watch 9 news not 7.... witch for some reason it says 31 in the screen... they make me sad that the live in my town

  • this looks like Columbia Space Shuttle

  • obsolete not extinct

"Why does it Fizzle away" Fizzle? Just follow the teleprompter lady, and this want happen ever again.

  • these guys are bunch of fukin retards, just turn up the volume and listen

I bet he;s fuking both of them because there so dumb he could say anything

    and they would believe it,

quote= why do they fizzle like that?

answer= because your fired moron, you make the station look stupid...

  • @impleasen & a majority of the population- unless u're a 1st grader and haven't learned yet, u're not allowed to call someone stupid if u can't chose the correct form of "there, their or they're."

  • These people are so fucking stupid, its no wonder their on fox news..

  • Cool i think i saw that 1

  • "Why do they just fizzle away?" "I don't know they just die." Is he a fucking retard? They don't die or just lose their light. They burn up in the atmosphere idiot. All of those people in there. Need to go back to 4th grade science.

  • why do they fizzle? i dont understand why they fizzle...

then you should have paid attention in school you dumb fuck... its cause they burn up on re-entry... any idiot 7 year old knows that.. for fuck sake america... get some smart people to do the news

  • Well, you would never hear any of us Floridians describe ANYTHING as looking like an exploding rocket... It's like saying "bomb" on an airplane.

  • awesome

  • Get the Fox out of here!

  • Wha't a bunch of dum asses..!!!!

Also the video they show is not a meteor, that was the shuttle columbia accident...

  • "why do they just fizzle out like that??" Meteorologist: "i dont know" WOW i'm not a meteorologist and i even know why. THEY BURN UP WHILE ENTERING OUR ATMOSPHERE!!!!!! that right there is why adults and kids should never watch mainstream news. all they do is read off the teleprompter which is scripted. anyone could do that! (But only if ur good looking and have a good voice for tv)

    WOW

  • These people don't even know the difference between a meteor shower and a golden shower.

  • its FOX what do you expect lol

  • wow that guy is hawt lol

  • I agree. It's obvious where the meteorite came from and if you don't know why they "fizzle away" then the school you went to may be under par with everywhere else. I wonder how they got their job

  • I can't believe these people are employed to be presenters.... it's a sad indictment of educational standards. :(

  • I can't believe these dumbasses are responsible for delivering factual information to the public.

  • hi my name is Heidi and I am honored that he chose my name for a pet meteor or down satellite or whatever it is. I wonder if anyone noticed the "other" things in that clip? like 7 or 8 ufo's? No, I 'm not crazy, just love everything to do with space and I've seen enough to know I havent seen enough. God Bless and take care....oh, love the tampon joke.....lol grossed me out, but you got your point accross Hunkola

  • @onetime34 dont kno if he needin a hug but he do havaa point tho. lol

  • THE AUTOBOTS ARE ARRIVING

  • i seen this and it wasnt a meteor it was a russian satelite breaking up when it was coming back down to earth

  • Denver, the last dinosaur! xDDD

  • it"s an army of transformers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Meteors do come from constellations, it´s called the radiant... they dont really come from the constellation... from earths view is the place where they enter atmosphere, visually, and the constellation quadrantis is not that it is extinct, it just was renamed to Bootes, this is a Bolide or Fireball and its quite normal in astronomy. This one is the remanent of comet C/1490 Y1. this shower happens all years froms january first to 5, and doesnt always garantee bolides.

  • It's a whole lot better to watch it without sound. Really.

  • Przepiękne!

  • did you hear that bizzle talk like snoop dizzle? the bizzle said the meteor is gonna fizzle? hahahah

  • they need to take high school science again, even the meteorologist didnt know that when meteors get pulled into earths atmosphere via gravitational pull, they are moving at such a velocity they begin to heat up and break apart

  • FUCKING CHRIST........."meteors from an extinct constellation" ??

What a dumb fucking faggot.........meteors dont come from constellations, asshole! Did a bunch of stars in a funny shape suddenly blow up and head towards Earth ?

I hate when these fucking pricks get on TV and pretend to be intelligent........most of them are dumber than a box of used tampons.

  • @Hunkola technically meteors can come from constellations , since constellations are made up of stars, most of which have planets orbiting them and asteroid belts like ours.

  • @Hunkola I know it's hard living in your momma's basement but cmon dude. Smoke a joint and fire a round off in a towel then go nite nite. Seems like you need a hug my angry little friend.

  • @Hunkola & @buff001 If hes retarded whats that make you? consideing he knows WTF hes talking about and you dont....

"Quadrantid" meteors take their name from an obsolete(extinct) constellation, Quadrans Muralis, found in early 19th-century star atlases between Draco, Hercules, and Bootes. It was removed, along with a few other constellations, from crowded sky maps in 1922 when the International Astronomical Union adopted the modern list of 88 officially-recognized constellations.

    Retards.

  • @Hunkola Well, "extinct" is a poor choice of words. But Quadrans Muralis was a constellation and the meteors do have their radiant in the spot that constellation used to be. It faded from use in the 19th century, especially after the official list of 88 was drawn up. As for him unable answer why they fizzle out? Go back to elementary science class, newsperson. FFS man, they simply burn up.

  • @Hunkola That "f" word belongs to you.

  • @Hunkola lol.....take this a little tooo serious dont you think?

  • @k32323 I have to agree with Hunkola. Making the odd little mistake is understandable, but to screw up on such a huge scale is unforgiveable. "Meteorites from an extinct constellation?!!" There are 1st graders that have a better understanding.

  • @71cassini i said that cuz i live in denver... and thats 7 news....

  • @k32323 Ah, now I get what you meant by that, my mistake.

  • @Hunkola : Apparently your as dumb as a box of used Tampons.... because what he is saying is that from Earth it appears to be coming from a constellation. He wasn't saying that the extinct constellation is the source of the meteors... Its about perception DUMBASS! Get a Life

  • @js207802 Okay, this is true. How do you explain all the other stupid things they said? Just curious.

  • @Hunkola calm down u angry fag

  • @Hunkola Chill out man! ou got some anger management problem's?

  • @Hunkola to be fair tho hes told what to read

  • @Hunkola you guy shouldnt be callin him stupid because the reason they call it the Quadrantid its becuase Quadrantid is an extinct constellation and if you trace there trails backwards it lead to where they meet within the boundaries of the now-extinct constellation Quadrans Muralis the Mural Quadrant. so you guys are the retarded ones

  • @Hunkola wow, what's with all the anger? You might need to take some time off dude. Actually, you should feel good knowing how much smarter you obviously are than those TV "pretend"ers.

  • @Hunkola boy are you stupid. Meteors are associated with constellations because they are formed along the orbits of comets, which when projected upon the celestial sphere appear to come from a certain point in the sky. Maybe what he said was not completely correct but you are definitely NOT the person to be correcting him. Douche.

  • @LonghornPhysicist He is right. The reporter said with such conviction as of he actually believed the meteor came from a constellation :D. Aren't they supposed to supply people with correct info?

  • @Hunkola the meteor shower is called Quadrantids because it appears to come from a constellation that no longer exist and was renamed to Bootes. agree with the second part of your post though :)

  • It's called an astronomy ..

  • The news lady is alot closer to being right than half of you on here. It wasn't a meteor...it was actually a russian sattellite that had come out of orbit and burnt up in the atmosphere across Colorado. I saw that exact event from my front yard in Grand Junction when it happened.

  • It this real ? Jes? This is the great vid of Meteor wat i se.....Mega-cool !!!!

  • these people are pretty stupid and this is who the masses look to for answers?! yikes!

  • I KNOW. everybody know how they break up and burn

  • "STARBUCKS?" Somebody on the end needs a warm-up, crew, before she falls asleep on the air. And whatever you do, don't say "quadro-t*ts." Sorry, but I cannot stop laughing!

  • An "extinct constellation"? What, was it stomped out by the dinosaurs? LOL, IDIOT!

  • HOLY SHIT. Everyone is fucking DUUUUUUUUUMB!

  • "i just don't know why they fizzle up" lmao how dumb is he. haven't you ever heard of friction.

  • YOu can tell that bitch wanted to say "Oh that looks like a NASA shuttle disintegrating!!, How beautiful!!!"

  • Wow, these newscasters are focking retarded.

  • @buff001

Yeah sadly journalism is dead, they are all paid actors now in the mainstream.

  • Stupid media gives us Americans a bad rap wow why does is fizzle out omfg are these people really that fucking dumb ? didnt they ever attend a science class ??? ah fuck em

  • the other thing that amazed me besides the awesome meteor, is the camera! lolz, but no really, that must have been an amazing camera to zoom and see all the details of that meteor passing by

  • Wow how dumb are those people?! I think I`d die of boredom if I was surrounded by halfwits like that.... Beautiful meteor though, I`m luck, I`ve seen something nearly that big in the daytime!

  • Have to admit that the best video of a meteor i've seen to date.usually, these things are over in a flash.

  • wow Englandforever maybe some of your ancestors were Americans so basically, u might be a retard.

  • How could english have ancestors from americans? americans are made up of english, Irish, Spanish and french...

  • Did she say it looks like a rocket taking off. My 2 year old son could give a better description.

  • Yepp..I knew it! That's Optimus Prime and the Autobots!

  • americans are retards. i try to think ppl are just being harsh when they say that...but they really are. if i was asked why they 'fizzle out' i could have answered correctly when i was about 7.

  • Comment removed

  • @chechoguitar112 realy? america is the 2nd most retarded country that do alot of polution .. intellegent hen?

  • clearly more intelligent....yup

  • @chechoguitar112, you're an idiot

  • you shouldn't say that. i know you can't possibly think an entire country is retarded based on a couple news people. what an ignorant statement.

  • you honestly think THIS is cool? watch this meteor!

    watch?v=kdU3VfYCWMk

  • awesome!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I just saw something like this yesterday. I took the photo using my mobile. Scary

  • An extinct constellation? What an idiot. Stick to the weather buddy, astronomy isn't your thing. Seriously I'm ashamed to be from Denver when I see stuff like this.

  • waouh its so beautifull ~

  • if it was the rest of the shuttle why did it suddenly accelerate in speed? if it was scrap it wouldn't do that now a meteor/comet can and did do that

  • is this really the colombia?

wow i can even see it shattering into pieces.

    OMG

  • No it is a meteor

  • No sorry further research indicates it was space debris in a polar orbit perhaps an old intel' satelite?

  • How freaking high were these newspeople when they did this? Seriously, I laughed so hard listening to that...

  • yo dats the colombia when it broke up coming back into earth dat wuz a sad sight

  • and it just fizzles away i can't understand why im a dumb cunt wow it just fizzles away

  • Thats a fuckin satellite or spaceships...

dam I do smell cover up...LOL

  • satellites dont move that fast. space ships only have 3 thrusters.

  • dumbasses this is not a meteor i cant believe they laughed at this THIS IS THE REST OF THE Columbia spaceship when it reentered earth.

  • dumbass.. how is it the rest of when that shuttle blew up in 2000 when it was re-entering earth's atmosphere. i live where some those astronauts were from... our airport is Rick Husband International.

  • dumbass...no its not

  • its beutiful

  • thats awsome

  • actually your all wrong on what it is it was the Jules Verne Automated Transfer Vehicle.

  • This is not a Meteor

  • lol a METEOR (ologist) doesn't know much about meteors

  • this is y they r called weathermen

  • its cosmologist lol dumbass

    nice video

  • its a russian satellite burning up. if you look at the columbia space shuttle, it breaks up the same way.

  • it is to slow to be a meteor.

  • its slow motion

  • And he said it was from a defunct "constellation". Newspeople should be smarter than everyone else, as they report and explain so many things. Instead we just have pretty faces saying how pretty the sparkles are..

  • @1flyfire8 Well said... we leave in a unfair world...

  • Rocket booster lights up early morning sky

    The Coloradoan

    January 4, 2007

It wasn't a meteor, it was rocket booster.

A brilliant object that burned in the early morning sky was a Russian

booster rocket re-entering the atmosphere over Colorado and Wyoming,

according to NORAD and the U.S. Northern Command ...

NORAD identified the rocket as an SL-4 used to launch a French space telescope in December.

  • was this columbia break up?

  • No, this was a Russian booster rocket's PLANNED reentry ... but it looks just like the Columbia breakup (which occurred in morning daylight hours).

  • No one at this news station recognized that this stream of debris looked IDENTICAL to the shuttle Columbia's breakup on reentry? If anyone had, that should have given a TRUE reporter pause that this might be a man-made event.

After a little Googling, I determined that the French commissioned a Russian rocket to launch a space telescope for them in December 2006. This is the rocket booster's reentry weeks later.

  • This was the Jules Verne spacecraft's controlled re-entry and burnup

  • QUADran-TITS!

  • appearently these people weren't to bright, im still trying to wrap my head around this fizzle statement, its not a freaking soda bitch. some people need to be slapped with the stupid stick

  • Exactly.

  • I know, even my niece who's in primary school knows why they burn up.

  • Yeah, this is more indicative of a satellite breaking up. The higher density parts of the satellite are ahead of the bulkier, less dense parts in that descent.

  • ???fizzle???

  • this was no meteorite, it was an artificial satellite, dumb journalists..how stupid is that journalist that he can't even explain what a meteorite is or why it burns like that, a fucking 12 year old kid in public school is assumed to know that. He probably got hired for being the son of one of the executives..fucking shame.

  • Can you explain what a meteorite is?

  • Yeah I can and I am not a fucking weather man!..your point???

  • wow pretty amazing

  • Very great...wow... :)

  • wow

  • Last year, my family got up at 3:30 am to watch this... We live in the country so there were TONS! NASA said 500 every five mins!!

  • it looked like a rocket at the beginning kool

  • Comment removed

  • anyone know what time the perseid meteor shower is gonna be showin up in denver?

  • DYK. most meteors are only the size of a grain of sand~!

  • Comment removed

  • "i don't know"...oh wow.

  • "Looks like a rocket exploding" .. I think that was a direct reference to Space Shuttle Columbia LOL

  • lmao thats wrong

  • imply
