  • You are good! I was looking for how long to stretch each day and found your answer. I'm a guy too. Contortionists being all women is just a fad. In India they are all guys and in the 1900's here too.

  • how did you start? do you go to a yoga class?

  • When I was a kid I did some gymnastics and dance, so I knew good stretches already. When I got a stress fracture in my back in high school, I started stretching 80 min a day, 5 days a week. Just kept improving... so I continued. Didn't pick up yoga till much later... Never gone to a class. Everything I know is either observed, read about, or remembered from when I was little.

  • Actually, I got a stress fracture in my back from running CC and track, and so I had to stretch to relieve pain and elongate my back. After doing that for 3 months every day for 80 minutes I noticed that I was improving a lot. So I just continued... Then I found Cirque and so began my obsession with contortion.

  • so i do contortion a little and i am like obsessed with cirque du soleil and i have definitely improved from stretching more but i still don't understand ho you balance on your forearms can you help with maybe stretching tips? if it helps my strength is not in my arms it is in my legs so please help!!

    Have you done times for track or CC since you've been stretching? I was wondering how your times compared to before?

  • 4-5 times a week, and I generally shoot for 2-3 (and if I am lucky 4) hours. Plus or minus some weights...
