People know damn well that squats will make your leg development explode, they're just to pussy to do them. Those that don't work legs, your not cut out for this ;)
Definitely agree. For any one who has never worked on their legs or hasn't in a while and like me was a lil fearful of starting again , what I've been doing is going on the bike , treadmill or elliptical machine every time I go to the gym for at least 5 minutes with enough resistance ( or speed ) that I feel a challenge. I do that every day I go so that when I do work my legs I don't feel blasted.
People who work upperbody everyday are fucking stupid. The people that won't go near a squat rack to save their life.. This video is for them. Even though it should be named "The hard way to gain muscle..for retards".
NO PAIN NO GAIN. If you believe in this video then you have no life, and now will power. Everything seems easy when you feel like doing it non stop forever
I wish i could do squats. But at age 20 I have a bad knee from major reconstructive surgery and a bad lower back. Squats are out of the picture for me.
@scotthermanfitness lets say i worked my chest well. I didnt go over board but i didnt go too light. And of course theres gonna be soreness. But how do i know i worked my chest perfectly? i worked both the upper half and the lower. Cause ive worked it out before and i get the soreness but i need to know if i really broke up the muscles that i used. My question is. How do you know you did a work out correctly after a day or two? I must know
now an exercise is partner specific.look,i know this is just a joke,a bad one,but a joke none the less, but protein is the building blocks of our entire body makeup.i have no further comment on this everyone knows the true value of olympic back and front squats.we now have hockey players utilizing the olympic front squat for sports improvement..also,your arms are twice as big as before?even at a mere 14 inches, that would now make them 28 inches.listen to what your saying and apply common sense.
... It's weird... Ive been gaining more muscle after i stopped going to the gym(which i went to mostly for leg exercises cuz I have dumbbells at home). And also when I stopped taking protein... My arms are twice as bigger than before... Idk if its cuz of my form(I changed it since)... But I stopped working my legs man... And im feeling fatigue when I do sports now... Squats are gay man... I prefer those isolation machines at the gym...
@Zegstasis ok i have to say something..did you really just say squats are "gay" and that machines are better? wtf is wrong with you squats are one of the most vital and important excerises you can do along with deadlifts, bench, and pullups.
@MrGimpolicious I know they are man... They are just gay to do lol... As in Id never go to the gym to do squats... Dont take me seriously I was just thinking out loud man... But thx for the headsup about deadlifts bench and pullups.
@Zegstasis lol it's cool man but you shouldn't be embarassed to do squats if anything be proud you actually work your legs unlike most people who just want the "beach body". as far as dumbells go you can do squats with them and calf raises im sure you can find videos for it. idk much for them i dont usually use dumbbells for legs:)
actually not so true.what steroids really do is allow the body to recover from the workout at a much greater rate.you must work out harder and more often because of the systematic effect of extragenous testosterone.your diet will also have to be substantially modified as well to cope with the increased caloric demand of the new tissue.also, ligaments and tendons DO NOT grow at the same rate-henceforth muscle pulls or tears can occur more easily.not a real shortcut after all.stimulate naturally.
scooping forward under the bar,and then shifting back again.oh yeah,no matter how big you think your quads and hamsrtings are, olympic back and front squatting will make them stronger, threreby bigger.you cant get bigger until you get stronger and nothing will ever replace the squat-front or back.hope this helps clear this up.
that slight degree of flexion as he or she flexes at the hip with the backlocked in forceful complete extension, lowering the torso as far as flexibility allows with the back properly extended, keeping the barbell in light contact with the legs.the motion is then reversed, and the athlete returns the torso to vertical,WITHOUT EXTENDING THE KNEES AGAIN.this continued slight flexion of the knees is the distinguishing characteristic of the RDL.the movement will look and feel essentially like the knees
TRAINING CENTER IN COLORODO SPRINGS.]since then, the name has been thrown around liberally and whatever it was actually intended to describe origginally is now debatable.the RDL begins with the athlete standing with the feet in the pulling position and the barbell hanging at arms length with a clean grip.whether the athlete arrives here by pulling the bar from a rack or deadlifting it from the floor is immaterial.from the standing position, the athlete will flex the knees slightly and maintain
the romanian deadlift is quite possibly the center of more argument regarding execution than any other exercises.the confusion arises from the fact that everyone agrees on its fundamental historical source-the romanian weightlifter NICU VLAD while training in the u.s.-but no one seems to agree on what exactly VLAD was doing or why[and there are even reports of the witnessing and naming of the exercise at at least two different locations;the sports palace in san francisco, and the OLYMPIC
@MrCranberry777 im romanian and don't know what a RDL is like:)),but i really dont need 2 train legs,i have genetic big thighs.I never even did a squat LOL
there is no easy way.you must work your ass off for every oz of muscle you earn.no shortcuts,no gimmicks.true, callous bleeding work.thats the real way.and dont give us the bullcrap about steroids.if i were to give you a shot of 2000 mg testosterone suspension, and you sat on your ass and ate chips, then all you would get is a sore ass.you must work out harder and more often due to the fact that your muscles recover at a much greater rate..pure,natural instinctive hard ass work.exhausting ,rush.
@BurakCelikbilek Sooooo what your telling me is you took a penis to the vagina?Well good 4 you your parents must be very proud there son took a penis to the vagina
OH my god there are so many stick legs at my gym :| it's so awkward, I have large legs from volleyball training, but I mean, these people have clearly never EVER done squats or even leg press! It makes me laugh :P
@BurakCelikbilek You're sooo retarded there are lots of wheelchair sports team that play basketball or other sports. Plus they can do any exercise that doesn't affect their disability, probably certain isolated leg exercises and bench presses or anything upper body... You obviously don't know what you're talking about so kindly fuck off =)
"I hope not because you will look ridiculous and i will probably make fun of you to my friends if i see you." Dude now everybody's making fun of you.. you have small legs... no joke haha take your own advice
Thanks for the advice man! ive only been doing upper body for 1,5 months. Ive gain 11kg from 70 - 81 by only doing upper body. i have played soccer for seven years but i stopped 2 years ago think i need to work on my legs a lot more! thanks man really appreciate it! :D
Well, if you're low bodyfat with a slim waist, training legs heavy would result in not being able to fit in regular jeans? would be loose around the waist?
SCOTT ARE YOU SERIOUSLY telling people how to work legs? you are like 170lbs and have little tiny stick legs wtf? practice what you preach before telling people about "easy ways to gain muscle" cus if it was easy u wouldnt be such a scronny little fag
I usually do leg presses and squats and take a few days off. Once I am done with legs the after effects are legs that feel like logs and a slow drive home since I drive a stick shift.
@thevegabondwolf that or u went to hard but I like feeling sore the next day it does make u feel like u went extra hard or ur just not used to working those muscle groups!
can anyone tell me if the muscle pain (of what some called 'beautiful pain') after you worked out for 6-24 hours is what showed u that u've done atleast enough for ur workout and it's waiting to be repaired and grow?
we have a squat machiene in my school weight room and when we do strength and conditioning its fun just to use monstourus amounts of weight even though we cudnt do it with a barbell
@Todi123456 fucking dumbest comment of all time.... next to the chuck norris and 'in soviet russia.." comments. still find this shit funny? lol fuck me.
@ToppaliniTube Nope, sorry. That doesn't stimulate muscle growth (maybe in the calves but still a very small amount compared to lifting), nor does it release testosterone. Big difference between running and lifting with legs.
my legs aren't too thin, i like em the way they are, its my upper body is what needs sculpting, beside at work im on my feet for twelve hours a day, so i think i dont need that to be workout
@matthew4892 Hm. Are you a teenager? This seems to be the mindset of many younger people, but they couldn't be more than wrong.
What people don't realize is working the lower body stimulates upper body growth. Did you not listen to the video? Squats release more testosterone than ANY other exercise, and deadlifts (which also use the legs) are a close second. You'll get way more results incorporating them into a routine than only doing upper body.
by Kyle Leon and it was very helpful for me. I've been using it the past year and have put on a lot of muscle.... muscle that I'd never thought I'd have, give it a go!
Great video. From your personal experience, is it at all possible to bulk and add muscle mass without losing the definition in my abs? As for bulking time frames, I’m going to bulk for 2 months then cut and lean out for 1 month..Any suggestions?
anyone knows a way to train my abs at home? crunches and stuff are just too easy, ususally i take weights behind my head when i do abs so its harder to do them, but im looking for a more effective workout
@StarCraftNoobTrainer High-rep sit ups, find a stable surface to suspend yourself and do L sit / leg raise training and find a way to work up to dragonflags. High rep sit ups worked for me with mass when I was just starting, but train your lower back as well if you don't want to develop a muscle imbalance and back pain.
1.eat big to get big 2. work out 1 body part a week 3. 20-30 minutes cardio before weight training. thats the best advice i got . n i dont mean eat like 10 cheeseburgers a day type of big. limited carb/sugar alot of fish chix n lean beef. its that simple. diet is 80% of weight training n 20% lifting.. u can work out 5 hrs a day.. go home , eat like shit and everything u work for is a big loss... bible that shit ..haaaa
@BLaCkEdOuTRoUsHF150 bad advice. cardio b4 weighlifting is the worst time to do it to gain muscle. its 100% diet and its 100% training. training is more important as if u just eat 100$ well and dont train u will not grow. if u haave good training and bad diet u couldl still see some results but not much. u can train each bodypart twice also but once is just as good depending on what way u do it.
working out 5 hours is pointless. who told u do all this?
what if you cant work out your legs due to physical reasons? like a torn acl in your knee like me. then you would feel like an ass for laughing at a big guy with stick legs. (i can still work out my legs, its just uncomfortable at times) but you get the point..
@incharger its really annoying how youtubers try to discredit what he says because he's not IFBB Pro huge. i.e. disgusting and unrealistically bulky. comparatively, yes, his legs are sticks compared to Jose Raymond, but you couldn't make a video explaining how to get Jose's legs if you tried. so what in the world is funny about that? let's see your legs, let's laugh at those..
@incharger that's just ignorant to say, he's leaner, just like me, therefore having "stick" legs that you say translate to leaner legs with a good amount of muscle. You are probably one of the people that have had huge legs their entire life, which is something us "leaner" guys cannot get because of genetics or without the help of steroids
@incharger Maybe, but he is right though. Working legs also stimulates testosterone production. I don't care how intense people think their prissy little dumbell curls are, they don't compare to a squat and deadlift workout. I used to hate doing legs because it is harder, but now I look forward to those days.
This is so helpful and it makes so much sense. I've been working out for a year now, now in 9th grade. I mean I have a very well defined buff-ish upper body, with some stick legs because I'm a hard-gainer nd never worked out my legs xD but i want to be way buffer nd this'll help. thanks alot bro.
Since my right knee started wearing down at work, I haven't done my legs for fear of serious injury. It's getting better now, so maybe I should try it again.
@Kn1gHtMaRe00 Rule #76 No excuses. Play like a champion.
No seriously. I had a torn ACL and before I opted to get surgery worked my legs extensively about twice a week. Increased my squat from 185 for 10 to 300lbs for 6 reps before surgery.
My workouts consisted of a 10 min warm up on the bike 4 sets of squat then 3 sets of walking Dumbbell lunges, leg extension & curls, & calf raise. Going heavy on everything. Also plenty of stretching. Being active will help your injury.
i have a shoulder injury for 2 months now.... i used to train my legs, but now i train my legs 2 to 3 times a week. and i can say that my lounge volume has grown big time.. i used to do cardio for 20min and thats it.... now im doing it for 70min without a break.
it feels so damn good to train your legs. i see them growing fast.
Squat Deadlift and Bench coupled with some isloation with swimming/running on off days and you're off to a better physique. so listen to the guy. SQUAT
@Lambofgod2316 both are very good, but only if your not overweight. why? running with a lot of bodyweight puts a lot of pressure on your knees and eventually you WILL ruin them, and let me, as someone who ruined his knees with basketball and no proper treatment for the legs, tell you something: you DO NOT want to ruin your knees. they are irreplaceable!
@Lambofgod2316 So what I want to tell you is: If you have a(n) (almost) "normal" bodyweight: run/ hike as much as you want, as long you you have proper running shoes.
@rvzitze If your very overweight: Take your bike and ride the hell out of it! with most of your bodyweight on the saddle, you won't ruin your knees. just make sure that if the pedal is all the way down, your leg should almost be straight! very, very important! also have in mind that in general to have the same fat burning effect as with running you have to do one and a half ties more, when you are riding a bike.
the legs are like the roots of a tree, you need to make a strong foundation in order to make everything else stronger. Stronger legs mean a stronger upper body :) ...if that helps.
i made the mistake of not doing legs and sadly acquired the chicken leg syndrome. but now legs are my favourite body part to workout

Recently started working legs (starting to become a chicken legs with big top half). Good advice for others getting to that phase

i run does that count?
ToppaliniTube 1 month ago
@ToppaliniTube Nope, sorry. That doesn't stimulate muscle growth (maybe in the calves but still a very small amount compared to lifting), nor does it release testosterone. Big difference between running and lifting with legs.

my legs aren't too thin, i like em the way they are, its my upper body is what needs sculpting, beside at work im on my feet for twelve hours a day, so i think i dont need that to be workout
matthew4892 1 month ago
@matthew4892 Hm. Are you a teenager? This seems to be the mindset of many younger people, but they couldn't be more than wrong.
What people don't realize is working the lower body stimulates upper body growth. Did you not listen to the video? Squats release more testosterone than ANY other exercise, and deadlifts (which also use the legs) are a close second. You'll get way more results incorporating them into a routine than only doing upper body.

where I bought the Muscle Maximizer Program
by Kyle Leon and it was very helpful for me.

Thanks

@StarCraftNoobTrainer High-rep sit ups, find a stable surface to suspend yourself and do L sit / leg raise training and find a way to work up to dragonflags. High rep sit ups worked for me with mass when I was just starting, but train your lower back as well if you don't want to develop a muscle imbalance and back pain.

compound movements is key, isolation wont build as much muscle as compound exercises do.

MusclesMaximizer.info
synchronizes the specific training
program for daily diet and guarantees
our body that will get precisely what it
needs to be able to build lean muscle
mass naturally..:))

BLaCkEdOuTRoUsHF150 2 months ago
@BLaCkEdOuTRoUsHF150 bad advice. cardio b4 weighlifting is the worst time to do it to gain muscle. its 100% diet and its 100% training. training is more important as if u just eat 100$ well and dont train u will not grow. if u haave good training and bad diet u couldl still see some results but not much. u can train each bodypart twice also but once is just as good depending on what way u do it.
working out 5 hours is pointless. who told u do all this?
eat right , sleep well , train hard
AdR1aN43 2 months ago
"You need to do leg curls, leg extensions, etc etc etc" why over complicate your leg workout with a crapload of isolation exercises?
AMPepin1992 2 months ago
what if you cant work out your legs due to physical reasons? like a torn acl in your knee like me. then you would feel like an ass for laughing at a big guy with stick legs. (i can still work out my legs, its just uncomfortable at times) but you get the point..
SuperChamona 2 months ago
but scott has stick legs...funny
incharger 2 months ago 49
@incharger its really annoying how youtubers try to discredit what he says because he's not IFBB Pro huge. i.e. disgusting and unrealistically bulky. comparatively, yes, his legs are sticks compared to Jose Raymond, but you couldn't make a video explaining how to get Jose's legs if you tried. so what in the world is funny about that? let's see your legs, let's laugh at those..
katinkers 2 months ago
@incharger that's just ignorant to say, he's leaner, just like me, therefore having "stick" legs that you say translate to leaner legs with a good amount of muscle. You are probably one of the people that have had huge legs their entire life, which is something us "leaner" guys cannot get because of genetics or without the help of steroids
jsp5162 1 month ago

Kn1gHtMaRe00 2 months ago
@Kn1gHtMaRe00 Rule #76 No excuses. Play like a champion.
No seriously. I had a torn ACL and before I opted to get surgery worked my legs extensively about twice a week. Increased my squat from 185 for 10 to 300lbs for 6 reps before surgery.
My workouts consisted of a 10 min warm up on the bike 4 sets of squat then 3 sets of walking Dumbbell lunges, leg extension & curls, & calf raise. Going heavy on everything. Also plenty of stretching. Being active will help your injury.

Hey I have a question, how good of a work out is running and especially hiking?
Lambofgod2316 3 months ago
@Lambofgod2316 both are good cardio and leg exercises that will help you burn fat
suicide814 3 months ago
@Lambofgod2316 both are very good, but only if your not overweight. why? running with a lot of bodyweight puts a lot of pressure on your knees and eventually you WILL ruin them, and let me, as someone who ruined his knees with basketball and no proper treatment for the legs, tell you something: you DO NOT want to ruin your knees. they are irreplaceable!
rvzitze 2 months ago
@Lambofgod2316 So what I want to tell you is: If you have a(n) (almost) "normal" bodyweight: run/ hike as much as you want, as long you you have proper running shoes.
rvzitze 2 months ago
@rvzitze If your very overweight: Take your bike and ride the hell out of it! with most of your bodyweight on the saddle, you won't ruin your knees. just make sure that if the pedal is all the way down, your leg should almost be straight! very, very important! also have in mind that in general to have the same fat burning effect as with running you have to do one and a half ties more, when you are riding a bike.
rvzitze 2 months ago
@Lambofgod2316 oh and of course: this is a nice fat burning workout. don't expect extensive musle growth from it, well except for your legs and butt.
best way: do both cardio and weight lifting= best results. they are perfect complements, not substitutes

the legs are like the roots of a tree, you need to make a strong foundation in order to make everything else stronger. Stronger legs mean a stronger upper body :) ...if that helps.
