For any one who has never worked on their legs or hasn't in a while and like me was a lil fearful of starting again , what I've been doing is going on the bike , treadmill or elliptical machine every time I go to the gym for at least 5 minutes with enough resistance ( or speed ) that I feel a challenge. I do that every day I go so that when I do work my legs I don't feel blasted.

But how do i know i worked my chest perfectly? i worked both the upper half and the lower. Cause ive worked it out before and i get the soreness but i need to know if i really broke up the muscles that i used. My question is. How do you know you did a work out correctly after a day or two? I must know

  • actually not so true.what steroids really do is allow the body to recover from the workout at a much greater rate.you must work out harder and more often because of the systematic effect of extragenous testosterone.your diet will also have to be substantially modified as well to cope with the increased caloric demand of the new tissue.also,ligaments and tendons DO NOT grow at the same rate-henceforth muscle pulls or tears can occur more easily.not a real shortcut after all.stimulate naturally.

  • @ToppaliniTube Nope, sorry. That doesn't stimulate muscle growth (maybe in the calves but still a very small amount compared to lifting), nor does it release testosterone. Big difference between running and lifting with legs.

  • @matthew4892 Hm. Are you a teenager? This seems to be the mindset of many younger people, but they couldn't be more than wrong.

    What people don't realize is working the lower body stimulates upper body growth. Did you not listen to the video? Squats release more testosterone than ANY other exercise, and deadlifts (which also use the legs) are a close second. You'll get way more results incorporating them into a routine than only doing upper body.

High rep sit ups worked for me with mass when I was just starting, but train your lower back as well if you don't want to develop a muscle imbalance and back pain.

  • compound movements is key, isolation wont build as much muscle as compound exercises do.

  • 1.eat big to get big 2. work out 1 body part a week 3. 20-30 minutes cardio before weight training. thats the best advice i got . n i dont mean eat like 10 cheeseburgers a day type of big. limited carb/sugar alot of fish chix n lean beef. its that simple. diet is 80% of weight training n 20% lifting.. u can work out 5 hrs a day.. go home , eat like shit and everything u work for is a big loss... bible that shit ..haaaa

    No seriously. I had a torn ACL and before I opted to get surgery worked my legs extensively about twice a week. Increased my squat from 185 for 10 to 300lbs for 6 reps before surgery.

    My workouts consisted of a 10 min warm up on the bike 4 sets of squat then 3 sets of walking Dumbbell lunges, leg extension & curls, & calf raise. Going heavy on everything. Also plenty of stretching. Being active will help your injury.

  • @Lambofgod2316 both are very good, but only if your not overweight. why? running with a lot of bodyweight puts a lot of pressure on your knees and eventually you WILL ruin them, and let me, as someone who ruined his knees with basketball and no proper treatment for the legs, tell you something: you DO NOT want to ruin your knees. they are irreplaceable!

  • @Lambofgod2316 So what I want to tell you is: If you have a(n) (almost) "normal" bodyweight: run/ hike as much as you want, as long you you have proper running shoes.

  • @rvzitze If your very overweight: Take your bike and ride the hell out of it! with most of your bodyweight on the saddle, you won't ruin your knees. just make sure that if the pedal is all the way down, your leg should almost be straight! very, very important! also have in mind that in general to have the same fat burning effect as with running you have to do one and a half ties more, when you are riding a bike.

    best way: do both cardio and weight lifting= best results. they are perfect complements, not substitutes

  • the legs are like the roots of a tree, you need to make a strong foundation in order to make everything else stronger. Stronger legs mean a stronger upper body :) ...if that helps.
