I see one of your hobbies is Wing Tsun Kung Fu, cool man. Vancouver is fortunate enough to have an instructor from Germany. I hope the hobby doesn't endanger your fingers :)
On the site you say: "When you feel ready a great chord progression to work on is: C G Am F, each chord being played for one or two bars." ...How do we know about Am and F, which strings to pluck ect? The website/video only covers C and G. Anyone?
thanks justin ,i`m 63 and intermediate old school rock player you have inspired me to explore and try different things. wish i would have had this technoligy when i was young.
Why do ppl dislike Justins videos, they are so easy to follow and his teaching method so relaxed. If it was not for Justin I'd still be just plucking about on the guitar making a noise...well done Justin, another great video, just got to get to that stage...can't wait
just decided yesterday 2 move in to finger style and you send out this vid...hummmmmm maybe you are a mind reader ,as well as a great instructor. YOU ARE THE MAN
Justin - Thanks so much for doing this module. As a "Folky Fingerstyler" myself I think you're doing a really fantastic thing by teaching and introducing a vast amount of people to these approaches; Approaches, I feel, that are slightly neglected whilst they champion the steel string guitar as an instrument so much!
I don't know how you do it, but you somehow manage to keep me motivated to practice more and more. The only problem is: there is soooooo much content, can't decide what to try first :D
II can't thank you enough for sharing this. It is about time that I put down the pick and let my skills grow. You are as talented teacher as you are a guitarist. Cheers Justin. I will keep this with me for the rest of my life.
I remember getting these finger style patters years ago in a small little book and tape (it actually was a casette tape) and i must have done something right because they stuck and I can tell you if you get them down they are GOLD. They've made me sound like i know what i'm doing for years :-)
Great lesson again. Regarding the D-chord. Im used to play the D as a C-shaped chord in order to keep the regular position for the right hand, but i struggle to get it done quickly at times. any tipps? (except for doing some chord changing exercises)
am i okay using my little finger on the bottom string?

Does someone know some songs which are using some kind of patterns like this one or rather pop-songs that are using folk-guitar?

I would suggest that you wear your ring on the ring (annular) finger instead of the medio to save confusion - brilliant lessons, thanks.

The first pattern can be perfected by learning "Dust in the Wind", by Kansas. It was my first fingerstyle tune on the guitar.

@DerisedEgami its not the same pattern

@gongusan Maybe not exact, but the Pinch, bounce bounce, pinch pattern is pretty much it. Don't get too technical on me, bro.
