Nope, I think the pencils are the least important part. It definitely helps to have different darknesses of pencils, but skill and practice are the most important part in my mind.

What kind of pencil do you use? This is a stupid question coming from a real amateur, but here goes: Do you ever use an eraser? I never see one in your videos. Great talent. A joy to watch.

Yes, I do use an eraser in all my video drawings, it's just so fast that it's usually not visible when the drawing time is sped up. Although, I do sketches sometimes without using an eraser, it's nice practice.
