Such a sick song/vid, I remember always watching this and Weezer's Buddy Holly on the windows 95 CD, but i was much younger then so i probaly didnt appreciate how interesting this video is. it looks like it combines a lot of old footage or something in it its just so cool
So smooth, so cool, this song just drips hipness. He style is laid back and relaxing I would just melt in her arms. I want to be there playing guitar for this sweet thing. I totally love every move she makes and facial expression. She can give me them good times anytime...
this song is ruin by Barry White and I like Barry White but the song has it's own unique sound and feel to it and then out of left field comes Barry White 2/3 of the way through the song and it just does not fit in or work for me
I realize she is paying homage to the "master" of soul and it does make the song unique but I feel it ruins the whole sound and flow of the song and it does not fit in at all. Like when I bought a Tears For Fears Live DVD and they are really rocking at the end of the concert playing Shout and at the very end of the song they have their back up singers go into this whole rap thing, what a big mistake, fortunately I was able to fad the song out while copying it to a CD and skip the rap crap.
I agree w/ ya there. I would hate to hear a Tears for Fears tune tainted by rap. I guess it's always hard to figure stuff out like this when artists go off and do the unexpected. At least Barry didn't start rapping :)
caught Edie & NBs in cedar rapids ia at the paramount theatre a looong time ago... spring 1989... hadta talk my way out of a speeding ticket on the way there... told the trooper the tires hadn't been calibrated yet to the speedometer, which was true... thankfully there was still blueishness on the whitewalls of the tires, so no speeding ticket... fantastic show... dancin' in the aisles...

I still have my 'nostalgic' '95 disk somewhere in the pile. Also, strangely enough, Edie Brickell is still singing, still with the same band and STILL looks the same as she did on that disk. Or maybe she's just a pirated copy of Edie Brickell? :oD
It's kinda spooky how so many people look for the oddest videos on YouTube all at the same time. I thought I would been the ONLY one...but not, it seems. Ha! Weird huh?
Actually, yeah. I was thinking of it just now before I came hear, because I got my very first computer 12 years ago today and this was one of the demos. This video and Buddy Holly.
I remember this on my '95 CD. It was the ONLY good thing on the CD. I had a love/hate relationship with this disk. I loved Edie Brickell and hated Microsoft. But there again, if it wasn't for Microsoft, we wouldn't be here now on YouTube etc. My first Windows installation was with floppy disks on Windows 3.11 So basic! Now, I use OSX. Thanks for posting this video of EB.

Yeah Memories. This is the very first video that played on my old 486 sx25 with 16 mb ram and 320 mb hard drive. Good old Windows95. That was the time that i played Doom, Tetris, Police Quest and chatting on Palace. Ahhhh memories. ;) Great song. Thanks Eddie!!!
When we bought our very first computer that played sound,(a Packard Bell model),this video came with it on a CD rom. I used to play the shit out of it. Its my favorite all time video.
Impersonating DJ voice: That was Edie Brickell doing the Windows 95 Classic "Good Times." Thank you Edie Brickell! Normal voice: You know that disc still works on a XP computer. I don't know if it works on Vista. If you do play that song, you might put up a lighter in front of your computer and sing along like a concert.
Paul Simon is from 1941, Edie Brickell from 1966. So it could be possible that someone assumes she was his daughter. There is no reason to think that question was a joke!!

love that song. makes me feel good. the images in the video, the children's laughter, people just being real and having a good time, it reminds me that there is good in this messed up world.
it was the windows 95 and it was also with the weezer song buddy holly. i fell in love with this song when i first saw it on my new lap top. i brings back lots of good memories thanks for the up load.
Like many I first saw/heard this on my Win 95 computer. Liked it so much I bought the album, Picture Perfect Morning. I highly recommend it. Autumn is coming soon and it's a good early Fall album (or for whenever else, too).
I kept on watching it again & again on my newly acquired computer 12 years ago when i was in India...great song...the rain shots are terrific.. I had been searching for long and luckily I tracked it down...I had no clue who sang it or the name of the song...i just rememebered Microsoft Promotional CD...here i am...thank you very much...Anybody has the lyrics who can post it for me...thank you.
it has been a long time since i've seen this video, i last saw it on my windows 95 OS, it was bundled as a sample video for the media player. overall, this song is so cool...
these video is my favorite , ones of the best songs a could ever hear , mekas me cry every time y hear cause a can fellit so deep in my heart god bless people who write these kine of songs , makes people live one's again!
I hear ya. I'm a tough-as-they-come 32year-old black American male and I tear up at this song too. Just something about it's sweet simplicity that makes it true and GOOD. Mada, good job with your English, just a couple pointers- kine is actually "kind," one's= "once," mekas="makes," y should be "I." Still, well done, I can't speak more than one language at all.
I had Windows 95 on my old PC. FYI, Im not a big fan of Windows 95's. But you have to agree that Windows 98's or a Macintoshes will run forever.
Anyway, I upgraded my win95 on my 486 PC to a Windows 98.

that's Edie's way of paying homage to the great one - the masta of soul. it further adds to the uniqueness in my opinion.

This song was promoted on Windows 97 by Microsoft (I think this is the version) and the film clip was embedded onto the front of the software version.
I have the CD with this song on it. She is married to Paul Simon. Both great singer songwriters! Thanks for posting this.

Like many I first saw/heard this on my Win 95 computer. Liked it so much I bought the album, Picture Perfect Morning. I highly recommend it. Autumn is coming soon and it's a good early Fall album (or for whenever else, too).

It is a wonderful song and video. It always makes me feel good. Plus I love Edie, she seems just so nice. Is that Barry White doing the spoken part?

Yep, that's the B-man himself. All hail all things Barry!
