  • yeah! play them tenors gurl!(;

  • They sound so good! I love how you can actually hear the basses in this video! I play bass one for my highschool, and we are playing double beat this season

  • why do they zoom in on the black guy

  • HATERSSSSS GET ON MYYY NERVESSSSSSS

  • 1:08 wayyyy too much damn wrist lol

btw ending for snares is wayyyyyy watered down!

  • @Kylon2014 Watered down? Incorrect, sir. I purchased the sheet music from Tapspace in 2004, and we performed it as written.

  • @Kylon2014 i hear whining

  • 1:08 wayyyy too much damn wrist lol

  • @Kylon2014 Filigree Apogee Pedigree Perigee....POOF! you are now a rabbit.

  • @Kylon2014 Each ensemble is responsible for developing its own style, so what might be "correct technique" to you is in fact simply a different approach to playing the same thing. Usually a more liberal use of "arm" is efficient, of course, but so long as everyone plays the same and has a good feel for the music, really no harm done.

  • nice two!

  • 8 basses.... thatll make a brown note...

  • Hulk on bottom bass.

  • tenors are tuned very nicely. great sound

  • Props because I can actually hear the bass line. Good work.

  • sounds great.. sadly the tall quad was looking down at his drums :( that's a no no :) i do, however, like that the center quad is a very small girl.. my friend is forced to play marimba because she's about that girl's size.. (personally i'd rather not have to deal with her) but that's pretty awesome that there is a small quad girl

  • i freackin love it.... u guys got it down idc how bad it sounded or anythign if it was better then other people u guys got it down

  • raw as hell. i love the bass drum parts.

  • 9 people go to ole miss

  • Cool! Michigan State's drumline does the same thing! Except they call theres Reich Drumming. Pretty awesome.

  • why dont they tilt the drums using trad

  • @xkwangg

    .

    See videos 2007 to present.

  • @xkwangg Well, its not really required to have angled drums for traditional. Evolution's a thing, isn't it? LOL

  • @xkwangg it messes up your heights anyway

  • is that yr when yall was vic firth

  • @BSBINC1

We have never been sponsored/endorsed by Vic Firth. However, we did use their products prior to fall 2004. We have been endorsed by Innovative Percussion since 2004.

  • @FleugenFlagen thanks

  • NICE.... wow, thats a lot of basses

  • so this is 04

  • the bass drums are a wee bit dirty.

  • woww 8 basses

  • Lol... Break and the bottom bass just wipes his forehead.

  • that what you do you move your writs unless you playing the tenors and bass

  • at 1:06 that dude straight doesnt even move his elbows and just plays with his wrists. mvp

  • lol. that last bass drummer looks like Brock Lesnar. LMAO. damn he huge..

  • LOL....the last bass is a MONSTER!

  • How come in the other Miss. State Double Beat '04 the tenor did the tapoff?

  • The other video is from 2006, this is from 2005

  • Oh, thanks.

  • @Emdai7813 it can be counted off either way

  • @Congobruh4

Yeah, I was just wondering. However I do like the Tenors tapping it off better :P.

  • @Emdai7813 yea my high school line plays dis cadence n our mulitples count it off, so i agree

  • bottom bass = hulksmash

  • holy crap the 8th bass is huge...along with the drumer!!

  • holy fuck 8 basses

  • pretty clean

  • TENORS!!! SICK @ 1:31!!!!! definitely have never seen that before

  • nicee. my drumlines only three snares, two tenors, four basses, and two cymbals..

  • that guy holding the bottom bass is huge along with the bass itsself

  • lol wish we had 8 bass players

  • They are so much better the Ole Miss..

  • this was good and wtf that bottom bass

  • pause it around 1:11 ish

im pretty sure thats a white guy playing cymbals

  • duh, the one on the left?

  • Dear god the last bass is a monster. I like how when they all relaxed every other bass bent back and the last bass just stood there and wiped his eyes lol.

  • haha i know! damn he is built

  • this is so sweet

  • hate to bust your bubble but all of their cymbal players ARENT black

  • Y'all sound better than Ole Miss.

  • Wow, amazing drumline setup and playing.

Is it me, or is the cymbal line made up of mainly black people? >.> Racists :p

  • actually we played this as written. there were no sections omitted from this piece

by the way..... "some of the parts (are) cut out" not "some of the parts (is) cut out"

  • damn that's alot of basses!! i didn't think they were ever going to end..all different heights, sizes, races, genders too..equal opportunity employer, lol..these guys are GOOD though!!! i like State!! I went to JSU, to completely different styles but both are good!!!!

  • bass 1 and 8 sorta look alike...lol two different ends of the bassline

  • My god, I would not want to get in a fight with that bottom bass player. Is that a 34?

  • he works as a prison guard now

  • Does he really?

  • lol

  • im just a high school drummer

and it might be cuz i play tenors

but the snares overpower the tenors waaaay to much

but it sounds good and clean

  • there tuned high

  • 1:27

Random guy in pimped out wheelchair!

  • LMFAO, i just noticed it now that you said something. now i can't stop from seeing it every time.

  • Comment removed

  • Where did u get the cymbal part? I can't find one anywhere. It's no on my score.

  • we wrote it

  • @PJCCup90 Yeah, our cymbols had to write their own too, it just doesnt sound quite as epic

  • BEAUTIFUL. haha. 8 BASS DRUMS! NICE

  • greeaaat !!!!!

  • aw shit gotta love SCV's double beat.

  • 1) haha tiny tenors, the drums themselves, and the center tenor.

    2) they need more tenors with 9 snares...

    3) and damn the tone on those basses sounds like Jesus.

  • MSU!!!!! GO BULLDOGS!!!

  • this sounds like a cool cadence

  • the bass drums sound like thunder at the beginning. that's so badass.

  • i concur

  • lol, yeah!!

  • I agree, Mizz.

    Hahah, doesn't matter though.

  • its funny how weak niggas talk shit on da net...i posted dat like a year ago n yall niggas still talkin shit damn...hop off a niggas dick damn

  • tenor line=lol

  • wow dis band thing looks really cool. stink we dnt do diss in nz.

  • god! 9 snares 3 tenors and 6 base's!!! y u hatin on da tenors!!! hahaha! good job

  • 8 basses buddy :)

  • oops... guess i miss counted huh!

  • holy crap @ tenor line. Big - small - big

  • lol, the snare at 1:08, no arm whatsoever in the right hand, all rist, use some arm dude

  • NICE DOUBLE STOPS SNARES!!!

  • USMs Pride does it better..SMTTT!!!!

  • HA!...yeah, see how many people you can convince with that..."Fattiesburg" is a giant pool of "overrated" sour milk. Everything about that school is lame.

  • i second that motion

  • you second the "sour milk..lame Fattiesburg" or the USM doing it better?

  • There's no phrase other than pwn that can explain this drumline.... Except for pwn raised to the pwn power.... Buck Fama... Try a little grey GOOSE mixed with bacon fat

  • Can some1 mail me a site/place that has the sheet music to that? thats awsome!

  • why so many basses? I think it would clean up alot if there were less basses. But for a college line you guys are executing very cleanly. Impressive.

  • It would but they have alot for the beging bass roll

  • does anyone have the snare part to this?

  • lol pretty awesome for a college

  • Wait...this is a joke, right?

  • Aww......the negative effects of "no child left behind"...hehe

  • you must be one of those bitch ass ole piss fan!!!! haha! what a joke!

  • I'd like to see you playing this, maybe post a video?

  • That was to a48034, haha. You guys played that pretty good, nice job!

  • Alright there buddy....calm down...hehe

  • he closed his account. lol

  • Very clean, Im impressed for this being a college band

Im just wondering why they have so many basses

  • thats the usual number of basses for college bands i think. its only around 5 in high school and DCI.

  • Yall rock yall are champions

  • Pretty clean for all the people you got.. good job

  • 8 bass players....wow..

  • Mississippi band owns!!! I am a drummer and I watch the varcity band play. its sort of like this but not as fast. I live in mississippi.

  • WOW

  • HOLY CRAP.... look at the guy on the 8th bass. He's like 6'6" 280. Thats CRAZY.

  • i no that amazing

  • OMG! Thats amazing! You guys kept it so clean even with EIGHT BASSES! Thats insane. My highschool drumline can barely get five basses to work. Much respect to your D-Line

  • whaoo exellent groove

  • hahahahahahaha they realy should have played Electric Wheelchair cuz there's a guy watching on the left in an electric wheel chair !!!! omg sooo funny

  • we played Electric Wheelchair that year...2005, just havent posted the video yet

  • muy bien se oye chido

  • watch it starting at 0:53 with watching the cymbals in mind, and then at 1:11 try not to laugh.

  • 1:11

that giant cymbal guy in the background makes me life

    hes twice the snare's size.

  • please the basses sound so awkward especially at the beginning with the sixlet run and there isn't enough video of tech to determine how clean they're playing all you hear are the snares and they're pretty clean

  • excellent. way better than that other video of TTU attempting EW

  • at 1:28 there's a hint of electric wheelchair..

  • Same guy wrote electric wheelchair and this, so its not surprising

  • It was a joke man, there's a guy in an Electric Wheelchair at 1:28.

  • hahaha theres a cadence called electric wheeel chair!!!!!!!

  • You guys sound good....but...dont you want to have a little fun with it? Oh and...8 Basses, 3 Tenors...a Little Mismatched (Why not 6 basses and 5 tenors?)

  • I love this video. I play quads in my high school and im only one of two quad players:/. Mississippi must have better snare sticks then my high school because ours snap while playing. Thanks for posting this<3.

  • that is a crapload of basses

  • i know

  • fuckin spammers GOD damn!

  • Murray buttsecks is an amazing man

    So is his double beat.

  • What bass line needs 8? Isn't 5 enough? lol

  • you can never have enough bass!!!! if only we could get enough basses for a few octaves, then we wouldnt need the band...

  • the two quint players on the right taught me in middle school :)

  • they're better than our drumline. when we play double beat, its not that clean.

  • i dont like tenors tuned that high. it just sounds weird...

  • well those look like the the playschool sized tenors. not full size. thats pretty much as good as you can get those to sound.

  • who's looking down at their drum, the snares were pretty together. and i'm gonna agree with drumnstormchasnguy, (haha) that's a crapload of bass's

  • your drum's not going any where why are you staring down at it?

  • wow they play like bytches an there tenors must have come from a jr high

  • Clean? Dirty snares, dirty quads... Zero sound quality.

  • Them cymbals nice ohhhhhhh

  • they also play ditty with this many basses.... kind of a waste of space on the field if you ask me...

  • HAHA good clean playing but holy crap have some basses! lol still really clean basses kind of blew some stuff but its got to be hard with about 80 basses. over all pretty dang good. keep it up!

  • good job... but did anyone else notice the MASSIVE amount of cymbal players??

  • Nice job guys... I hate Yamahas though... My school marches Yamahas. I hate the sound to them. I like Dynasty or Pearl

  • awesome

  • they are pretty good, but bases sound wierd in the begining with the 30 seconded notes

  • lol by the way those arnt 32nd notes.. sixtuplets bud.. yea they did suck tho.. but its all good.

  • ehh. it was alright i guess. not perfect. the basses sound really weird for some reason. WTF 8 BASSES!?!. maybe you guys should enjoy it more if you get what im sayin.

    wow familyguy is an idiot

  • Yeah, I thought it was too fast, too.

  • Nice job. Pretty clean for a college line! But the diddles were a bit dirty, but who can blame you, you aren't a drum corps.

And familyguy31092, you are a total tard.

  • that's their DRUMLINE you f*cking dumb ass

  • Comment removed

  • hahahahaha wow

  • this comment is pretty funny

  • thats a strong bassline

  • that was ridiculously too fast and i didnt like it, just my opinion

  • lol Tenors sound weird with Yamaha one

  • Needs a Mop in some sections, I heard some mud! Lol, pretty cool still that a college line plays SCV stuff.

  • incredible does any one have a copy of double beat they can send me

  • I love double beat. When my high school drumline played it, it was awesome. For some reason, it sounded better than this drumline though... don't know why. I still like it though.

  • it was probably slower. Its marked at 152 but we proably played in '05 around 160, and this past season in '06 around 170

  • At 00:48 that snare guy forgets the music haha, l2p!
