Pete Rock is an Engine in his own right. He is Thee Coldest! I got love for Premier and Dilla or even Dre. but NOBODY, and i mean NOBODY knows the game like Pete.
Stop your whining about hiphop rheden days and go look up australian artists like spot syndicate, low budget and dialectrix... Australian hiphop progresses where old school alternative hiphop has stopped. Just dropping knowledge and no money and hoes shit
i never forget the day. i was going through box of hand me downs my dad got from somebody. low and behold, this whole album on tape was in there. man, I rocked the brakes off of it lol.
don't trust them new niggas on the air, takin and makin life on radio unfair, cash in they face dangled our music source almost strangled don't trust them new niggas on the air, internet stars brag about cars, callin us stupid acting all foolish and meanwhile white people(no offense) adopting and re-droppin our crops now if that aint worth fightin for then we can just forget that we ever had a good time in music because it'll only be a memory...don't trust them new niggas on the air.
back in 1992 this album was my medicine!! i will never stop loving this album,a hip hop spiritual that opened my 3rd eye to knowledge...along with brand nubian's in god we trust. Peace to the gods & earths!!
Classic Material right here. Pete Rock and CL Smooth are one of those forgotten groups that consistently put out dope music without moving major units. They and Brand Nubian are the most slept on groups of the 90's
How does a classic like this, and from Pete Rock & CL Smooth only got 160,000 views? We gotta push and support this "Classic hip hop" agenda! so many feel good classics from this era, cannot let it get buried.
This song is fucking epic! I remember exactly how i felt back in 92 when i hear that album. Skating Pulaski Park, drinking and smoking with your peeps. Oh the good times. Real music - real shit.
I like when people make these silly comments about southern rap when they really don't know shit about it; its not all what you heard on the radio/ TV, so many cats from the south have real lyrics, rhyme schemes and songs with soul; how bout you educate yo self before making silly comments - and this song is a classic
We got save hip hop. These new nigga's. Im sorry they are corney and they are going platnum. The shit they be saying.I be like what the fuck.Somebody help.
@MegaDan1310 Seriously! I don't give a fuck about your money, your cars, your women, or any of your dumb metaphors shit. Just be real with me and drop knowledge. The fucking south ruined hip hop from the west in the east by bringing that corny shit.
@FINbball Dj Smash, Digable Planets, Jazz liberatorz, Nujabes, Dj Mitsu, Camp Lo, Damu the fudgemunk, Vinyl Reanimators, Y-Society, Jazz Addixx, Dutchmassive, Sound Providers, Georgia anne Muldrow, Masypke, Cinematic Orchestra, Dj Shadow to name a few. They all have an element of that grizzy jazz you after. Not all their songs but maybe it's the right direction. Hope it's a good starting point. Enjoy
@upstatecryptonite What are you talking about? This is straight baby thighs, fucking baby powder comes out the speakers when I bump this shit. Not like it's a bad thing though.
