I sent you a link to photos of my U.S.S. Republic. I modified the 18"er to match the Polar Lights 1/1000 ship as well as added in a bridge under the dome. It might give you ideas for making your Enterprise kit.
Over at Hobbytalk ( YT won't allow external links) there is a fellow looking to release a 1/350 Excelsior! At 54", it is going to be a wonder to behold! No details on release date or cost yet. He's just putting his shop together.
I just found the thread there, and I hope he pulls it off. But I think I have a long way to go in my modeling experience before I can bite into a project like that. Any how I'm now working on an AMT 18" Enterprise that I've had stored for years thats like the one in your videos, but is light gray and has the saucer grid lines.
I built the old version just over two years ago. The gridlines were tough. I extended the razor blade from a utility knife until it was very flexible and had at it. Gouged the surface up, but the thing needs putty all over the place anyway so I didn't mind.
Here's my build log for that if you can puzzle out the address below:

PS. the original decals are very innaccurate. Search the web for JT graphics replacements. They are in the $20 range, but worth it. The difference is astounding.
Check my channel for the '4 Connies in a row' video. The Constitution is this old one I mention.
Yeah! Brazen, even. lol Luckily, I had surveillance footage of the perpetration. :D I found them just a moment ago. Thanks for reminding me! I think in a Rifleman video I lose a resistor right in front of me. It turned up days later perfectly in the open.
Over the last 30 years, I've built over a dozen, if not two dozen of these, and I do not remember any sprue gates/ pour stubs on either dish. Maybe I'm wrong. Maybe there were one or two, but 6 or 8 of 'em? Really?
I was also curious about why they increased the number of sprue gates for the upper and lower saucer halves. Did previous releases of the kit have a problem with short shots?
Those aren't stickers...they're Deck-als...or as the Americans say DEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEcals.
:D

yah, in the heat of the moment, I called 'em stickers.
But the rest of the planet pronounces decals wrong.
'Dek-uls' indeed!
Dee-kals! Darn it!
Deeee-kalsssss!
:D

pretty cavalier about how you toss those bits and pieces about. Look forward to your posts about missing bridge or sensor dome parts on the board.
