I hadn't spoken to him in years, and was hoping to reconnect with him this year through my studies of Social Work, opportunities lost to make things right :(

Dad was a builder's labourer and I he took me for a ride on a JCB when I was a kid :)

Can't help thinking that this song chimes with people who have lost their dad too early. No doubt they have memories of them coming home from work after a "bloody hard day". Now that the pension age has gone up to 67, there will be more of us dads expiring before we can get a well deserved rest. My dad died at 67. I remember the times he drove me round in his work car.
