  • Did you just challenge us to spell it then put up the word?

  • well that's certainly a feat. fkjdfkadflsdfaklfjklasdajkdflajfldasdfdrweuootfjsdfhkdvjjcncjxhcjkxf = Bangkok!

  • I'll just stick with Bangkok

  • I stay in Thailand 3 years and that is the only person I heard remember the full name

    well done

  • They just wanted to beat El Pueblo de Nuestra Señora la Reina de los Ángeles del Río de Porciúncula (whose short forms translate to the same thing, funnily enough).

  • Steve Stifler: Hey, Finch, what’s the capital of Thailand?

    Finch:Krungthepmahanakornamornratanakosinmahintarayutthayamahadilokphopnopparatrajathaniburiromudomrajaniwesmahasatharn

    amornphimarnavatarnsathitsakkattiyavisanukamprasit??????

    [Hits Finch in the groin]

    Steve Stifler: Bang-cock!?

  • It translates to:

"The city of angels, the great city, the eternal jewel city, the impregnable city of God Indra, the grand capital of the world endowed with nine precious gems, the happy city, abounding in an enormous Royal Palace that resembles the heavenly abode where reigns the reincarnated god, a city given by Indra and built by Vishnukarma"

    Corny rice eaters...lol

  • Woow and you just recently found that out in 2008?! ....

  • that is not a name, it is an enumeration of praises :D

  • พูดผิิดตอนท้ายๆ

  • 555 พูดผิดไปเยอะนะ

  • Great vid but she mispronounced a bit (as would I hahah.).

Also, Thais obviously never use that name lol, just "Krung thep".

  • Comment removed

  • OMB(oh my buddha) i did not know it was that long, i dont think someone could spell that without looking at the name

    maby buddha could

  • Yup, she mispronounced that last part. The English spelling at the end is correct, though. What the guy said ("real" name of Bangkok) was a tad misleading. Bangkok (or Baang Gog = "olive grove") is the town's original name and was changed to this super-long one some 200 years ago. Some older folks in rural area may still refer to the old name. I suppose they use Bangkok internationally because it's easier to pronounce than Krung Thep, but it is by no means a "fake" name :)

  • krung thep translates into city of angels whilst Bangkok means village of plums

  • The end was wrong!

  • i remember it by a song

  • Bangkok is also known as ~ Krung Thep Mahanakhon Amon Rattanakosin Mahinthara Ayuthaya Mahadilok Phop Noppharat Ratchathani Burirom Udomratchaniwet Mahasathan Amon Piman Awatan Sathit Sakkathattiya Witsanukam Prasit

  • Er det mulig, så sinnsvakt langt navn =O

Is it possible, what a crazy long name =O

  • Well der.

My mom said the way she memorized it in school was by song.

    xDD

  • Jesus christ that's a long name.

  • That's hysterical! Awesome discovery!
