  • rocky and adrian.

  • It was a Shingleback skink / Tiliqua rugosa but big deal so what viper keeper made a very small boo boo loll great vid ! one of the very few private reptile zoos to be accredited in North America ! Great vid ! keep up the great work !

  • sort of in between

  • 3:24 is a spceis of skink.. maybe prehensile tailed skink but im not sure. definitely not a frilled

  • Repitland has added a butterfly exhibit this year. It was pretty full of butterflies when we went in the other day.

  • well i know where to go if i was assighned to build a ark i guess.

  • Been there, done that..

  • I've found Burmese to be about as laid back and easy going as they come, but they are voracious eaters with a vicious feeding response. If something that size mistakes part of you as food, you're in for BAD time. I can't imagine feeding that many of them in the same enclosure. LOL! Great stuff!

  • Man I want to go there so bad. Yup that's a nice little shingleback - would love to get one but they aren't exporting them from Australia. I found one that was available over here but didn't have $5,500... If you want to talk about a gecko with an attitude that would be a Tokay! Cool little reptile but nasty tempered!! Too bad the bearded dragons didn't do the arm wave along with the head bob.

  • 3:24 wasnt a frilled dragon

  • What was it then?

  • looks like a shingleback

  • @viperkeeper it was a shingle back lizard,

this is a frilled lizard has a spiked flap of skin around its neck so when fighting ir threeatened it can lift that up and make it look like its bigger

  • Clyde Peeling's Reptilaand really is a world class facility. I grew up a few miles down Route 15 from Reptiland, and am visiting in a couple months. Anyone who wants an amazing tour, make sure to stop by! Great video!

  • crap i wish i had one pf these

  • I wish I had something like that around here :P

  • Wow, that facility is awesome. I wish I had something of that caliber in Washington. There is a serpentarium in Monroe, WA run by Scott Peterson, aka "The ReptileMan,(he brought some of his snakes to my grade school back around 10 years ago). His old facility consisted of mainly 40 gallon breeders and the sliding glass stackable tanks you have, but he has moved since my last visit, so I don't know what his new facility is like.

  • where abouts is this park?

  • For specific information about the park see the end of the clip where I give the website address. Allenwood, PA

  • i went there

  • so a black mamba can live 30+ yrs? That is pretty cool...love the video's too al..

  • Al, wouldn't the poison arrow frogs be a tasty treat for the eyelash viper? Or is he "programmed" through millions of years to think they are still toxic?

  • Good question :-) I bet their instincts are to avoid those puppies.

  • I've seen emerald tree boas and eyelash vipers in with these guys on a number of occasions (I'm a bit of a zoo dork), I don't think they're of particular interest to a handful of snake species.

  • Exhibits are very costly to change and they have to do it overnight before they open the next day.

  • Its good to see a place that is especially for reptiles.. dont get much (or any) of that around the northern parts of europe.

  • Really nice video, Al.

Do you know what kind of sand the mamba was on?

  • Thanks for the visit!

  • amazing!

behind the scenes vids are awesome.

what was the minor disaster you spoke of at the end? if you dont mind that is.

  • A plumbing problem....leak.

  • awesome zoo!

  • Sleeping frilled dragon...aka Shingleback Skink? LOL!

  • The gaboon viper looked like Gabby. Tell Gabby I said hi! lol

  • I will but I don't agree, Gabby has more pastel colors where this one is more "grey scale"

  • cool

  • sos some fantastic facilities there - really looks like a great place, 2 months to go then i can enter the lottery fingers crossed haha

that really is awesome, especially their display cases

  • Whowhoawhoawhoa...whoa..whoaaa...i didnt really get this part Al...so a bearded dragon suppose to have the same components in the saliva as those of a rattlesnake venom??? huh?? O_O did i misunderstand something? Btw im such a geek with monitors ^_^ first thing i said when i saw the water,was"...Salvator" lol

  • Yes, they even have venom glands and ducts to the teeth. They have all sorts of toxins in their "saliva" including Crotamine.

  • A lot of harmless colubrids are believed to be somewhat venomous, too. A lot of people don't know that garter snakes are venomous and can put you in the hospital (if you have an allergy anyway). Corn snakes, rat snakes, king snakes, and boomslangs are all colubrids.

  • Rat Snakes are know not to have any venom components in thier saliva. Garter Snakes actually have very toxic saliva, beyond a simple allergy.

  • I love when you do behind the scene post at zoos etc.

    good work

  • Wow, That looks like a spectacular place. I think that's a Shingleback at around 03:20 though.

  • I called it what they called it...

  • yeah thats what I thought. I know it wasnt a frilled dragon.

  • Yeah, just got back from Reptiland yesterday. The dude who worked there told us it was a Shingleback Skink that they popped in the cage because it only did well, said he, "around people." Guess they haven't changed the label on the cage yet.

  • They have the frillies back in now. they also have a nice little blue tongue.

  • two thoughts

    1. sweet jesus i have never seen a agkistrodon (sp?) that huge

    2. I agree with you.. seeing those burms being fed would be very fun. heh..

  • That's a big one but when I was 16/17 I caught a Copperhead that was 51 inches long..just 2 inches behind the record.

  • LOL! DUDE, THAT IS AWESOME! Dude, I wsih I could have seen that! That is really bodaciously insane. :D :D

  • wow amaizing do you know all of does animal names and scientific names in your head or you get help like behind camaras. I realy think your smart but all does weird and long names amaizing.

  • Yes...I admit it..I'm a geek...I know all of those names and many more throughout the animal kingdom. I took 4 years of Latin which helps..

  • and my family said I shouldn't take latin on college!... then again, they also think I should be an artist and enjoy my job at the local coffee shop...

  • Guys & Gals.... I don't mind answering questions about what you see in the videos but listen to what I say too. It's just as important and it answers most of your questions.

    Thanks,

    Al

  • i want to GO! thanks for that oppertunity AL, is this place in PA, too? thanks for another great video.

  • Yes, to you too...Listen to what I say in the video...The answer to your question is there..

  • This is new. Have you been here before?

  • Wait a minute...Go back and listen to what I say :-( I answer the question in the video.
