@joemrp05 I think he meant "properly armored". The subsonic (slower than 330 m/s) 9mm rounds don't cause a big impact, even in a burst. A civilian body armor would be enough to give near - I said near - immunity to the target (of course, assuming all bullets hit only the armored torso).

Besides, subsonic 9mm doesn't cause hydrostatic shock in unarmored targets (much less armored ones), but the permanent cavity is enough to disable most of them.

@Trustds07 I think the MP7 uses a rifle round....although it's a very small rifle round so you could almost call it a dart. I've never actually seen one but I've heard they will punch through armor and if they'll do that, they'll go through the occasional wall.... I can see the uses of something like that as a personal weapon for tank crews etc., but I think it would be a bit risky in a hostage situation....you might go straight through the bad guy and hit the innocent behind him.

The p90 and mp7 are not regarded as "true" smgs, but rather personal defense weapons though. They don't use regular pistol ammo, and i have heard that the 9mm lacks much of the punch and penetration needed against modern day body armors

CSS is realistic? I'm sorry, but you essentialy just destroyed your credibility for a second. I have worked with various small arms in the United States Army for almost a decade of my life, and it makes me just a little twitchy when people start spouting bullshit about weapons. It's bad enough as is with Hollywood on the lose. And, DUH any modern ceramic vest stops 9mm, they're all rated to at least level 3a which includes everything up to .30cal. Don't need dragonskin to do that.

Again, the phrase "comes close" does not imply the reality. CSS is unrealistic because most modern combat takes place over 300 meters, when in CSS it is a few feet at most. When you get that down, in a game such as ArmA 2, all the AI complaints go out the window.

The MP7 is H&K's response to the FN P90 after they showed them up with the FAL (which was better than the G3). If I had the choice, I'd go with the P90 over the MP7 ANY day.

The only H&K weapons I like (that I havn't shot yet) are the Mk23 and the G36. The 416 looks nice, but it's basically an AR-15 with a piston. Heck, they even use the same lower-reciever.

The FAL didn't show up the G3. The G3 has far less recoil firing the same round. The G3's delayed roller locking system is far better designed than the FAL's STG run around. P90 vs MP7. It's a close contest, but I choose neither. KAC PDW is what I would choose over either of them.

It depends on the round. The G36 only fires the 5.56 NATO, which generates far less energy then the 7.62 NATO, both in felt recoil and raw take down power, so the roller delayed system would be a waste and only weigh the soldier down more.

@Zacdayak63 A 4.6x29mm round from an MP7A1 cannot pierce body armor because of the slow speed of the bullet. There is no suppressed compact rifle or SMG that can penetrate class III body armor. Unless you want to use supersonic rounds then the suppressor would be useless.
