I have not found those timing to be anything like the ones on our videos. We have a video that lasts for 2:32. 1st thumbnail shows at 0:04 2nd thumbnail shows at 1:00 3rd thumbnail shows at 1:44. So that blows the theory out on 25% 50% & 75%

I've made a video just for you guys, in a easy & organized way.

General steps are:

(1) Add timecode (timer) to buttom layer and add thumbnail at exact millisecond.

(2) Add thumbnail near the end (percent locations).

Examples & Proof: My 6 latest vids.

0:30 / 6:41 is not 25%

2:49 / 6:41 is not 50%

5:03 / 6:41 is pretty close to 75%, 2 out of 3 anyway

YouTube would not make this so easy, for obvious reasons.

@foxkart61 Actually, you are right twice: It doesn't work because I should have said N, 2N and 3N (instead of L, 2L and 3L), and because it just doesn't work. I tried it on some of my videos and all three images they provide me with are not even close to those positions. I shouldn't be surprised, though, since youtube changes things every day (not necessarily for the better).

Also, I'm going to delete my other comment, because the math is wrong.
