I think the comparison to Bob Marley, though he may be too modest to acknowledge it, is an apt one. The problem is the dominance of contemporary american culture that isn't (widely) receptive this kind of music and his messages. The counter-culture of the 60's and 70's, Marley's time, was open to the messages of revolution and change.
