@Bbfishman No, it's not. MANY more cases actually involve golden retrievers, but the media doesn't attack those breeds, it's bully breeds they go after. Research how many cases against breeds biting, many are dogs that people think would never hurt a fly, while pitbulls we not close to the top.

If there's a dog attack that ACTUALLY involves one of these breeds (a lot of times people just call dogs that have attacked someone pit bulls if they can't identify the breed), it's usually the fault of a careless owner. When well-trained, they're wonderful pets. It's a shame that cases like these destroy the reputations of wonderful dogs.
There should be federal legislation mandating that anybody owning one of these killing machines should have to carry at least $25K in liability insurance in case of instances like this.
Most of the people who own these damn dogs don't have a pot to piss in, as well as no decency or responsibility. And when you come after them for damages, you ALWAYS have to go to court!

Pit bulls are vicious only depending on the owner, and usually the owner is some idiot who buys pit bulls to make them vicious dogs because they're seen that way. It's a ridiculous cycle of fulfilling one's own prophecy, and makes the dogs look unfriendly, which can in many cases be untrue.

thats not very funny... i had to put my dog down and its the most traumatic thing i've ever experienced. She was making a statement & get a reaction from the D and Judge by bringing the ashes.She said she got a dog because her daughter died before she was born so thats a double whammy in pain. You shouldn't laugh at others misfortune and I hope you don't feel the pain of losing something dear to you, especially watching what you love being EATEN in front of you.

@Bbfishman No, it's not. MANY more cases actually involve golden retrievers, but the media doesn't attack those breeds, it's bully breeds they go after. Research how many cases against breeds biting, many are dogs that people think would never hurt a fly, while pitbulls we not close to the top.

@fanficbug Pitbulls are illegal in some cities. In fact, one city near where I live gave owners two months to either move or get rid of the dogs before they seized them and destroyed them. It went before the state supreme court, but ultimately the city won.

@resqfireman i have 2 full blooded pit bulls and they are well behaved and haven't attacked anything. there have even been many stray dogs that have come into my yard and my dogs have not attacked. my male did pin a stray to the ground AFTER it tried to attack me. but when i told him to stop he did. the stray ran away unharmed but scared

@candihu Of course, there are going to be exceptions. However, it is my belief that MOST Pits are hardwired to be aggressive and it is something that has been bred into them over years and years. Personally, I think that the dogs should be illegal to own. Just my .02.

@resqfireman actually, statistically speaking, the EXCEPTIONS to the rule are the ones who attack. pits are not known for being human aggressive. check out the website law dogs usa dot org and see what a professional trainer for police dogs has to say about the breed temperment. i think you will be shocked. the rule is that the dogs have very stable temperments the exception is that irresponsible owners make them dangerous

@CustomJ I'm sorry you had such an experience, but I'll tell you it's sensationalistic cases like these that give pit bulls and rotties bad names. If there's a dog attack that ACTUALLY involves one of these breeds (a lot of times people just call dogs that have attacked someone pit bulls if they can't identify the breed), it's usually the fault of a careless owner. When well-trained, they're wonderful pets. It's a shame that cases like these destroy the reputations of wonderful dogs.

There should be federal legislation mandating that anybody owning one of these killing machines should have to carry at least $25K in liability insurance in case of instances like this.
Most of the people who own these damn dogs don't have a pot to piss in, as well as no decency or responsibility. And when you come after them for damages, you ALWAYS have to go to court!

@eleanorayoulateagain i own 2 pits and i am a responsible owner. my dogs have never attacked anything and are well mannered and well socialized. responsibility is in the hands of the owner because if there is a dog that is dog aggressive then it needs to be trained not to be aggressive. the dogs don't flip out over nothing sorry but there are always signs that are ignored before this happens

It doesn't matter how well you raise them. Like any other dog, pit bulls can and do decide to act on their own, even if it is on a rare instance.
The difference is that a pit bull will kill.
It's naive to think that raising them right will stop them from being the killers that they are.
