Look at the grilles and you'll see they flash blue, the white is the main beams pulsing as they help people to locate the vehicle.

not really you can see it fine in a car when they pass me i hear the siren first then see the lights when it comes into view suprisingly you can hear the sirens just fine in a car although things seem to sound closer than they are.
