Damn, ToD2 really needs to be patched/localized to english (full, not just the menu that I use lol) whether it's on PSP, PS2, chinese version, etc.

Honestly, I think Namco would kill it w/ Eng voices, but c'mon, even they could've made an ok translation sub/menu for an NTSC-U realease, while keeping the voices (like ToD on PSX) .

Plus all we get is "ToD II" which isn't even ToD2, ToE (not ToD II) was a great game, but all the 2D ones on PS2 aren't even translated (except chinese...)

To be honest I think the real problem of them bringing it here is all the money but Judging by Stahn's and Leon's VA's I say they could do a good dub, I mean Liam(Stahns VA) is MORE than capable and has been with the company(Dist anyone?). I know very well Michael(Leon's VA) is capable, I mean he didn't pull off Joe in digimon for nothing. Either way the problem comes down to the money it would take to bring it here and even if it was say 75$ each copy I don't think it would make up for it

@KittyKatKatta I would still pay 75$ for it though, heck I'd play 150$ to get the ToD on the Ps2. I'd just buy an imported PS2 and the game and play it well reading a translation guide but...it wouldn't feel the same.

Why not just increase the amount to buy over here in America to compensate for the shipping expenses? I mean it is there game they can increase the amount to what ever they want. Plus they should be happy they've got fans across seas it shows they know what there doing.

Extra Note: They could just name the real Tales of Destiny 2 something else like they did with Symphonia 2. I would just get the JP one, but I wouldn't get it because it's in another language, so puzzles would be impossible (I'd use a walkthrough, but I don't use those unless I have to.). It'd probably be smart of them to put TOD PS2 on the PSP as well, since it'd be cheaper to buy, the graphics would seem up-to-code, etc.

P.S. By up-to-code, I didn't mean the graphics were bad... (in fact I like them very much, and it fits the theme, I believe) Just saying that a hand-held game with sprites is just natural, in my opinion.

thats mostly the reasons. rpgs don't sell that well here. but i also think its because of little comments like the onecyclone one made. there are probably more people importing than actually petitioning. srry guys but its unlikely that tod2 will be in the U.S. cuz of two things

1.They screwed up the name in Tales of Destiny II (Supposed to be Tales of Eternia but changed that name to avoid law suit)

2. Cuz of poor sales of tod (ps1) and Tales of Eternia (TodII)

But i think it will be for the psp though i hope so and i think that tod:re would be released someday =)

It's much easier to buy swapmagic -insert version here- and importing the game rather than waiting for the US Namco to realize that people like the 2D tales games, translate the games and release them in the US

Put your hopes high but they still wont release it here in the US because it is 2D !! The following tales games, Symphonia, Abyss,World:Radiant Mythology were only released because it was 3D graphics. Tales of the Tempest is the only game that actually has a chance to coming in the U.S. Yes people Tales of the Tempest is coming to the U.S. because it's 3D, but will take awhile just like Abyss.

Abyss for the U.S. came 10 months after the JPN release date. so Tales of the tempest will probably come out around the end of october of november. Although i wouldnt recommend this game because it SUCKS SOO MUCH THAT THEY PROBABLY WONT EVEN RELEASE IT IN THE US. Eternia was not released in US either but in Europe.

TOD2 will definitely not be released here because of it 2D graphics AND the PS2 version had no sign of coming to the US, so why should they for the PSP. thats it guyz, no matter how much you hope, IT'LL NEVER HAPPEN. THE GAMES WONT BE RELEASED IN THE U.S. just get swapmagic3, fliptop cover and import the game from playasia. if you think they're gna be released, will give up and stop hoping.

tales of symphonia 2 will come out for the US since its nintendo and 3D but will take awhile of course. the JPN version will come out in 2008.

I really think they should make an english version of this game. When I heard it was coming out with a remake I was thrilled and then I learned that it was coming out in Japan and most likely it wouldn't come out in America. :( *sighs* So I'm really hoping that they make a english version. ^^

I would LOVE to see Tales of Destiny and Tales of Destiny 2 released in English. Except, Tales of Destiny 2 might not happen, because the english translators accidentally released Tales of Eternia as Tales of Destiny 2...

Also, does Tales of Destiny 2 have to be PSP? Why not PS2?

I don't think American translators could do the characters justice, especially those from ToDR, ToD2, and Tales of Rebirth. Sure, there can be a English dubbing, but I want them released with both English and Japanese.

But I prefer they release Tales of Destiny 2 on the PS2, perhaps release the original as well (now that the Tales franchise has blossomed), the DS and the PSP releases, and then Rebirth on PS2. That way America will get all tales as well (excluding the Nariki Dungeon GBA games) Then we'll work for Europe

I think Sony's getting a little less strict on the PSP at least.

I mean...Sony allowed Valkyrie Profile: Lenneth, Darkstalkers, Lemmings, and PoPoLoCrois and those are sprite-based. Not just the yearly 50+ Street Fighter 2/Classic/Arcade collections.
