The building that 'looks like a castle' is in fact the old court building. It was in this building in October 1936 that Wallace Simpson went to get her divorce. hmmm i can see what svengaile does in traffic he has one foot down of the pegs.i see alot of riders do this i dont know if this is personal preference or a better skill for traffic.i might do this as in traffic the cars may stop infront of you instantly having one foot ready of the pegs to be planted on the ground instead of franticly luggin both legs of the pegs on the ground

He sometimes likes to drag his foot for fun. But in general...you are supposed to have both feet on the pegs as soon as the bike starts to move. Noobs often leave their feet off the pegs until through the intersection....there are a few things wrong with this.

wouldnt having one foot ready to be planted be logical as if youre riding with both feet on pegs you look both ways and have to suddenly brake it might not be a smooth stop if you quickly throw both feet on the ground when a car suddenly appears.ive noticed riders when approachin intersections they look both ways and if there is a car coming there brake looks smooth with one foot rolling to a stop.set me straight mordeth if im on the wrong learning curve

You can always put your feet down...quicker than you can stop. So there's no need to have them hanging. I've never stopped to quick then fallen over because I couldn't get my feet down quick enough...hehe.

And if your feet are hanging they behave as counter-weights which decrease your stability and balance as you ride. Not to mention if you were hit by a car you'd have a better chance of breaking that leg.

Says who exactly? There's literally no difference between using the key or the kill switch. Safety wise all safety devices must be regularly tested for proper operation otherwise when you need it you'll have no idea if it'll work or if it ever did work.

its mentioned on the bike tests in the uk. I can't remember it exactly (eventhough I should) but its the way the kill switch works. If you use it too much it can be damaged easly and thus stopping your engine from even starting. Something like the connections get worn down or something lol I would google it but i'm too busy right now :P

Correct, training centres I know will only talk about the operation of the switch but won't actual demonstrate it because of the amount of times it would be pressed in a week with a new set of pupils every day.

Is it ok in general to cut off the bike with the key? That's your answer...the kill switch and key are on the same circuit providing power for the ignition/fuel system.
