BIG TIME. Ford = Found On Road Dead - we had so many different Fords, Mustang, Probe, Taurus, - they were ALWAYS being recalled. If it wasn't shit, we would buy it.

If everyone took the bus we wouldnt need cars. I pay $49.00 a month for unlimited bus travel to work and back and it stops at a Meijers halfway home for grocery shopping. I dont have to pay insurance,gas,oil changes,maintence,plates,registration,traffic tickets and best of all I dont have road rage because of stupid drivers. Auto industry workers were over paid for a reason,they had to know that there would be an end to their jobs one day, TOO many cars being made.Not enough buyers.Like VCR's?

Honda, Hyundai, Kia and Subaru and every import car with the exception of Nissan and Toyota sucks because people think they're reliable and getting high resale value and GM and Chrysler also suck as well because they will soon go bankrupt i suggest everyone should not buy a Honda or a Hyundai or a Subaru and start buying a Ford.

well put, however the uaw does not pay 80 per hour, thats a fabrication...to start right now, new employees would make 14.00 an hour ..average wage is 26.00 to 28.00 an hour. what i like is how the all cry about patrotism, but refuse to support the american worker!

I don't want to support their economy. I just want to drive their cars. I used to waste my money on American vehicles, but I got smart and took the advice of friends with Subarus and Toyotas with 300K miles on them (while my Ford was limping at 125K). One of the smartest decisions I ever made. :)

Almost all "Import" brands have manufacturing facilitiers here but the majority of the money earned goes back to corporations's home country, and economy. Just like the money that illegal immigants earn here. If a japanese salesman said not to buy American computers it wouldn't really matter because the U.S. is by far the largest market for personal computer and electronics. Why else would everybody in the world trip over themselves to market their stuff here. China is a close and growing #2.

Yeah, the rear drum/ spindle/ ABS unit assembly on the Focus that costs $500 per because repair garage machines can't cut the drums and the assembly is in 1 piece. It was a the senate that f-ed over the USA with their concern for the foreign manufacturers in their states. American and foreign cars are made through parts that supply all companies. The CEO's and the UAW agreed they would make concessions but the union busting southerners care more about breaking the union then the Americans they represent. Do some research you knowledge of the US manufacturers is lacking.

Last time I went car shopping I bought a Subaru. I love the idea of buying American but there is no way in hell I would spend my money on a POS Ford! The Walmart reference was that most folks think Walmart sells only American made, but in reality most of the stuff there is foreign made, just look at the labels when you purchase something next time.

Remember, it was an American who wanted to teach quality control to American auto manufacturers after WWII and the American Companies blew him off and told him to teach that crap to the Japanese. Well, he did and the Japanese listened and produced electronics and autos to a high standard that Americans wanted to buy. This is my second Toyota because the vehicle is reliable...6 years and no problems.
