Terfel sings this song very well, but Richard Burton was KING ARTHUR, and conveys even more with less of a natural singing voice. But it's good to have all of the "recitative" before here, and thank you VERY much for sharing this.
What about Richard Burton who sang it in the original Broadway version? We were in High School when it came out and I still have the LP. Bryn Terfel sang this song (also The Impossible Dream) at the Nobel Gala concert 2001 to the delight of everybody.I simply adore Terfel. cheers.
Is it my imagination, or has he 'filled-out' since I first heard him some years ago? I got fat just by being lazy and drinking beer! I jest.. This is delightful.
Hi Chinaman432: Thanks so much for this lovely Christmas present!!! Terfel is utterly astonishing in his utter versatility. He's GREAT in everything!!!
Lovely stuff, but I still prefer Shatner's version.

Bryn is one of the few opera singers that can sing amazingly as well as act. He is awesome

I love him doing broadway! He's great in the other classical stuff, but his more contemporary music is superb!

was richard burton King Arthur? thought it was richard harris? But either of them don't compare to Bryn Terfel's version.

Beautifully sung. And no matter who sings it .. the words remain just as wise and true!

Rush Limbaugh did a great parody of this on his show (June 6, 2008), with Obama and Clinton as the "stars." Classic!

I love Richard Harris' version of this.
He can't sing for toffee compared to Bryn, of course, but it's still my favourite.
Probably because I was madly in love when I first saw "Camelot" (back in the sixties, I'm afraid, folks).
Ah...the past is a dangerous country, best not visited....

Harris' facial expressions are masterful during his version.

I didn't particularly care for the first 1:40, but once he gets to the song it's beautiful, as his singing always is. Thanks!
