do you have any intention of doing something similar to this using bluetooth wireless keyboards like for example Ps3 mini one (Cechzk1UC) or something else wireless this is great but not wireless I am willing to try to program something along those lines if I get enough info and pointers in the right direction Email me at sithbadger@gmail.com this goes for any of you Provided you know your stuff I will know otherwise. I got CFW long ago now I learning to make these sort of programs work
So this is through the serial port? how do you interface the serial port? can you buy the plug seperately? I am thinking of linking it up to an Xbee transceiver for wireless serial transmitting and receiving of data.
So say I wanted to use an ACTUAL joystick (not a hand-held controller) that works on XP fine without installing any drivers with this thing for fighting games and shmups. How could I get this to work?
do u prefer it on slim or phat i have both but yeah which one has an advantage over other like does any of them read usb mass storage then the other or both are just the same
I have the software to do host mode, but since this is only usb full speed ( 12 Mbit ) and it feeds in the serial port limited to 115k baud, it is way to slow to use for mass storage.
Check out my other videos and you will see my other project is a high speed ( 480 Mbit ) storage system. We are working on boards for that one.
I have already done it. The problem is the serial port is so slow that you could type the program almost as fast as it loads.
If you look at my other projects, I am the one doing a USB Host/Mass storage for the PSP. Watch my other videos, I am waiting for a custom board I have at the PC board house being made right now. It will be a USB 2.0 HIgh Speed (480 Mbit) host that runs hard drives for the PSP.
Yes the firmware is modified. It will run on CFW from 3.52 and up. The only way to run drivers and custom software is with custom firmware. You have to install a device driver in the PSP memory for it to read the serial data coming in the port.
thats amazing! im thinking maybe you could make this work with like a sidekick type keyboard? to keep the whole portable concept going. and maybe build it so it can attach to the psp and we can use like 7 joysticks(LOL). also, this type of stuff could allow for way better games, hopefully sony realizes that
I am releasing the entire thing to public domain. I will be giving away the fully commented source code. The prototype board is three inches by 1 inch and it is called the ATUSB90 KEY demo board that sells for $34.00
Excellent. Do you plan on releasing the design of this anywhere or selling built units? If so, sign me up to build or buy one!
Also, you mentioned that your USB interface for the joystick will remap the joystick buttons to the face buttons by having them duplicate keystrokes. That means that remapping the joystick analog sticks to the PSP's analog stick out of the question, right?
Also, do you feel that the hardware would support sending analog stick data to a PRX plug-in on a custom firmware PSP? If so, this type of project would be an excellent way to allow homebrew to have dual analog support.
There will be two designs one external using the demo board and another that just has the chip, crystal, and connector. It will hardly be bigger than the size of what most the people are
using to make sound reactive mods with.
NO the mapping works for the analogue sticks,
as we have a computer talking to computer it will talk in digital but so fast you will not be able to tell it from the analogue. So yes both analogue sticks can be mapped into the PSP.
does this work for only slim or fat or both just diffrent wirings to the audio port and how is this psp not hacked i mean the theme doesnt look anything close to the normal xmb
The external works with both. The final unit will spec a connector to the external box that allows you to have one cable for each PSP and switch back and forth between them.
One of the drivers I am working on right now is for the Xbox 360 wireless gamepad with the chatpad keypad installed. That way you have joysticks that you can type on.
Are you using arduino?

If you have an old headphone remote to get the cable from you can buy the board already made for $34.00 plus shipping

Where? I'd love to buy this.
As long as it supports game controllers.
Could I suggest some remapping for PS1 games and remote play?

gsharpshooter80 3 years ago
Makes no difference works the same on both,
all the translation and mapping are done in the external CPU to reduce the overhead on the PSP and not interfere with other programs.

alright thanx for the answers look foreward well i guess buying this from u. u are selling these right?
