Luckily for him it was a tourney and no one left 4 the final, so he and Conan were forced to rematch, but that was WORLD CLASS BITCHING by Saku.

The first fight was BS, the ref stopped the fight too soon (and I think knowing Royce wasn't asleep from the supposedly choke) If Royce was asleep at all he wouldn't of got up so quickly and that's the fact. Anyone asleep doesn't get up that quickly from a choke. And as for Yoshida he has no honour at all, he knew this but acted like he didn't know what Royce was talking about when Royce confronted him (me nor understand english BS).

@greyfoxau well i agree but the choking thing is a big deal.experienced guys like royce will go to sleep but when the choke is stop being applied he regains concious quick fast.i saw him go limp and im not a jujitsu guy or a judo guy.but his hands went to low he stopped moving and the ref instead of checking in on royce gave yoshida the win.

he only asked for speciall rules once, it was against sakuraba, the special rules were unlimited rounds and no referee stoppages, i think there was no judges. Against Tokoro there was no judges and the only way of winning was ko or submission, of course neither happened.....those fights were boring as hell even with that "cool" special rules....

yoshida had many opportunities to drop his knee right into his balls which would do a hell of a lot more than that kick did. gracie also gave him the back of his head on the ground.

Yoshida stayed true to his art and threw no punches, knees, or elbows. this is truly a bad victory

There is no doubt that the Gracies were pioneers in mma and made it into a technical sport. But my beef with the Gracies is that they are sore losers. They always bitch when they lose and they always ask for special rules and stipulations whenever there is a rematch or revenge match. They constantly bitch. The only Gracie that is a great sportsman is Rickson. Best lb 4 lb fighter of all times.

Besides Renzo is a very respectful warrior and went on his own early in his career. I have much respect for Renzo and Rickson, they never make excuses. As for the others they still disrespect anyone not in their circle. Did you watch Renzo vs Matt Hughes great match?

@wu10314 Well the Gracie family was brought up on no rules, its hard to change to point systems and time limits when you have never done it before, today MMA got a little bit weaker, watch Helio's fight videos...their conditioning for fights must have been crazy because Helio would fight for hours, and Royce fought from 1-4 fights a night

@RadOne83 You're right in that their conditioning is top, but they like to fight other mortals. Yoshida, sakuraba are not mortal men. Royce thought no time limit would benefit him and give him an advantage. Helio is a master, but physically not on par with present day fighters. Same reason rickson would not be successful. I respect those men, but its a total sport now. There is no martial art mentality; its about crosstraining. mma is not weaker its a totally different idea now.

So your under the impression that someone alive today pioneered the concept of mixed martial arts or evolved it drastically beyond what came before your just retarded. It's been around since the dawn of time.. .. if your talking about the "evolution of mma as a sport" with rules of a given type.. you'll find that its the rules evolving around what the competitors are allowed to do.. the fighting techniques are not new by a long fucking shot..
