AL 281 is one of the most scenic drives in the entire state of Alabama in my own opinion. The steep inclines and declines on the highway make it that much more fun.
I just went through there about a month ago. I try to make the detour through there every time I go up towards Huntsville.
Awesome ride, Dale. Was that the Pinhoti Connection Ceremony with the Appalachian? The scenary you two saw on the way up there was what made me move here. 9 miles from my house to Cheaha. I spend every warm weekend with the family outdoors in this area. The rides on 49 and 281 makes me want a bike. Good job. Keep the videos rolling.
Yep, Cashrollinterror, I was there at the ceremony commemorating the connection of the Pinhoti with the A.T. That's really why I made the trip. I've backpacked the Pinhoti several times (along with many other trails) and was a long member of the ATC for several years. Years ago I was on the Board of Directors of the (then) Alabama Hiking Society (?) that later became the Alabama Trail Club. This really makes me want to get back into hiking/backpacking!!!

Actually crazyrailfan, it's Sixx AM, not 6 A.M. As in Nikki Sixx, formerly lead guitar for Motley Crue.
