This tree is the king in the forest. So is this piece in this "forestry" suite. So easy in the key tones, and after that, it opens the imagination ...
Sorry our acquaintance was so short...but this will remain a favourite as long asI retain a channel here that I feel isn't spoilt. It is early days for me with my new channel...and time so limited for recreation...but I have some choice treasures I hope to share and do justice to...
@HopeWithPandora Hello, Christine! How nice that you found your way back here even you've changed channel. I'm glad. And I'll be here, no need for a new channel (at least for now), but I think I've just been lucky in that matter. Please, keep coming back. I'll visit your new channel soon. :)
Thanks for the lovely music, and for the introduction to Finnish artists! It beats me why this enchantingly beautiful melody is not much more famous the world over. But then the Anglophone world is another Eco-system, I suppose, where Sibelius is often regarded as just another prominent nationalist composer and not one of the greatest 20th century musical geniuses! Most do not know of anything other than Finlandia, the Swan of Tuonela and may be the Symphonies. What a pity.
Alan soittaa tota 3/3 varte. Sitä o nii ihana soittaa, ku "saa" vaa fiilistellä. Ope tosiaa valittaa siit välil, et mun soitto elää välil vähä liikaa, mut e voi sil mittää:D.
@BloodyBloodPeker Hienoa! Onnea sitten vaan 3/3:en! Ja fiilistele Sinä vaan... Siitä se sielu syntyy niille äänille, joita flyygelistäsi lähtee... Kiitos kommentistasi! :o)
@MarcheseCadmio88 Yes, he's the composer himself, Sibelius, very drunk, in this Gallén-Kallela's painting called "The symposium". The others are composers Cajanus and Merikanto and on the left there's painter, Gallén-Kallela, himself. Maybe it can be a funny picture, if you look at it that way, but I think it's rather sad. Thanks for your comment!
@HighHeelWoman1975 Oh, Merikanto? I didn't recognize him. I like his music too. I don't know why, but all composers from Finland (Sibelius, Merikanto, Rautavaara, Sallinen), Estonia (Pärt) and Scandinavia in general (Grieg, Sinding, Leifs) always suit to my tastes. In particular Sibelius moves me: he's so direct, refined, so melancholic and profound! Adorno called him "duffer", I call him ART.
@MarcheseCadmio88 Well, the legend tells that Merikanto was too busy to model for Gallén-Kallela to this painting, so Gallén-Kallela used a turnip as a model for Merikanto's head... Maybe that's why you didn't quite recognized him from that painting...ha haa...
I'm very happy and proud that you like our composers and music so much. Seem like you really can appreciate it. I love them too. Enourmosly! :D
Meillä kävi eilen sellainen kaksikko soittamassa sibeliusta sellolla ja pianolla, voi että ne oli iyhanasti soitettuja! Varsinki Finlandialle oli ihana sovitus sellolle ja pianolle...
Eero Heinonen is a great pianist! I had the opportunity to be in his class last summer. I'm still wondering all of his wors about music and piano playing... and actually you can hear them clearly in his playing... Just love this piece and love this video! :)
Thank you so much for you comment. Very nice to hear that kind of thoughts too. I've only listened his recordings, but love them very much. And I'm so happy, if you liked the video too. I love making them.
47 comments!!! for what I personally percieve as the 'purest' most 'soulful' piece of music ever gifted to me.
Sacrilege??? perhaps... but it proves that people know less than they they think they know.
This was a gift... just took me a long time to unwrap... but without the need for batteries... remains no 1 of a very long list... forever [smile]
