He appeared in the New Zealand Herald as Manager and he couldn't help but feel bitter about its demise. He said (quoting the Herald), "It was a unique product. You can go any place and buy a burger. It was a stupid thing to do, it could have been a success, I'm sure. At times I get really angry. It's one thing New Zealand could have given to the entire world."

I think we should petition Foodtown to reopen the restaurants. I would go therer everyday! 99% of there patronage would be 25-35 year olds. And they should have the $1 menu too... Only in a perfect world I guess :-(
