  • eartworm jim on snes and gensis, or contra 3 againts blast corps, or super castlevania 4 against castlevania blood lines.fatal fury on snes and genesis, final fight one on snes against sega cd

  • @alexNintendoSega LOL both Contra and Castlevania would be a one sided match.

  • to my mind, the Sega version has more speed and fluidity of play compared to the slowness of Nintendo. This is a fighting game, the important thing here is agility and control the game, which Nintendo has not.

I am definitely voting for Sega.

  • i like a lot of aes titles it is THE BEST way to play arcade style games at home without computer emulation

  • lol just feel the need to repeat what i was thinking on the last video if you want to play art of fighting by snk you need neo geo by snk but they are not too cheap and unless you are a die hard fan... its better to have a snes or genesis anyways

  • @92greenz34 I've got an AES actually :)

It only cost me $150 for the system and Art of Fighting I picked up for $20.

  • @SegaVsNin lol right im in the same boat... but a $20 genesis sounds more appealing to most people, wehen they can buy a xbox 360 for 150... the avs is probably the coolest system of its time

  • @92greenz34 Yeah I agree, but it was one of those systems that I only dreamed about as a child so after I got married I bought one. My most expensive game that I've bought so far was Fatal Fury 3 for $100 which was totally worth it.

  • Sega dropped the ball years ago.

  • Sega Kills Nintendo any day. 8bit to 16bit

  • Ill be honest and say ima a fanboy for sega. but snes definately took this this one. I think a great game to compare would be Robocop Vs Terminater or Eartthworm Jim

  • Shack fu was on the snes and genisis.

  • The sister's name is Yuri (Or Uri) My name is Uri and I'm not Japenese AND I'm a boy.

  • Are you russian or Ukrainian or from somewhere else? :)

  • @redSKORPION50 No I'm American from Louisiana.

  • No worries mate, im Australian from Australia ;)

  • 1) The death & return of Superman on both SNES & Sega Genesis.

2)The Power Rangers Franchise on Both the Sega Genesis & SNES

  • Sega Megadrive and Sega Genesis were basically the same. But just different models or am I missing something?

  • Yeah essentially the same machine just different name because of the region it was sold.

  • There are no torn clothes on the scene you zoomed in on. You're seeing things.

  • I'm not speaking about that specific scene. In the game in general clothing will tear.

  • SNES version was a lot better here, but still crappy compared to the arcade.

  • Yeah it was but when I think back to the day Street Fighter II came out for the SNES I could not hardly contain my excitement. The thing is I remember also the day I bought it I had let a friend borrow my SNES and I had to go get it from them the same day I gave it to them. I felt bad but I had to play it.

  • Agree, Genesis version was far better. Maybe Super nes has better graphics, the original zoom, and better sound, but genesis has a better playability and backgrounds were more delailed.

In Art of Fighting, Super Nintendo was the art and Genesis was the Fighting. If you want the game for playing and not just staring at the screen better go for the Sega one.

  • @Evilgouken I agree that the Genesis version was better. Gameplay sucks on the SNES port.

  • Syndicate!

  • Shadowrun

  • umk3 ultimate mortal kombat 3+

  • Just do a Mario vs Sonic.

  • DOOM!!!

  • Doom,Mortal kombat 3 and Terminator 2 judgment day

  • Doom!!!!

  • Mortal kombat 2

    Mortal kombat 3

    Ultimate mortal kombat 3

  • Dudes & dudettes, Sega does it for me. (But I am losing my grip)

  • HOBOKEN?

  • Haduken? haha

  • Dude invented scaling for all future games SNK is the standard for all fighting games. Both systems suck NEO-GEO Rocks

  • I wouldn't say that both systems suck because they don't. But I can't disagree with you about Neo-Geo rocking. I have Art of Fighting 1 and 2 for the AES and would love to get 3. Though... it's not as good as I remember it being. SF4 has really ruined me for fighting games. But I'm up for some KOF12 tomorrow.

  • Wait so there wasnt blood in mk genesis? Or there was but u had to turn it on?

  • Nah, Neo Geo was way too expensive. I have the emulators for it on my PC, and all the games suck except maybe Metal Slug.

  • I hated the scaling on these old Snk Fighters

  • saturday night slam masters...

  • addams family, addams family values, weaponlord, stargate, judge dredd, power instinct, mickey mania, great circus mystery, wanderers from ys, battletoads & double dragon, smash tv, raiden trad, brutal: paws of fury, side pocket, lost vikings, rock n roll racing....

  • fatal fury, fatal fury 2, world heroes, sparkster, zombies ate my neighbors, tmnt tournament fighters, sunset riders, ghouls n ghosts/super ghouls n ghosts, aladdin, lion king, mortal kombat 2, thunder force 3/thunder spirits, primal rage, desert strike, out of this world, flashback, prince of persia, clayfighter, bubsy, soldiers of fortune, aero the acrobat, earthworm jim...

  • ummm what about the lost vikings

  • That would be truly a one-sided battle. The SNES wouldn't have a chance. That's like comparing Doom for the 32x to the PSX.

  • then why does the 32x version of doom suck. the 32x sound was the worst port of the game and it had 1/2 the levels of snes. the snes had the best sound and had the levels but the graphics were terrible

  • @hteman

There was an article on Sega 16 about that one. 32X DOOM was required to be a release title by contract. The 32X was rushed as was the game itself. So what we see when we play the 32X version is pretty much a crappy Beta. The final version was supposed to have Q-sound and have the 8 sided sprites of the PC version and all the levels. But unfortunately we got what we had.

  • play doom on both but the sega genesis will need the 32x addon to play

  • Revolution X!!! The SNES Version Would Win By Far Though.

  • Yeah that would be a good one to do but... at the same time I hate that game with a passion.

  • what game do I whant to see next? A NON FIGHTING GAME!! you cant properly compare consoles with JUST fighting games!

  • Good suggestion! The problem is this is not just a comparison of Sega and Nintendo but it also compairs them to the arcade counterpart if you haven't noticed. So something like Sunset Riders would be a better suggestion.

  • I see, that explains it.

  • Earthworm Jim would be a good one to compare on both systems. I had the Genesis version back in the day and a friend let me borrow the SNES one.. I definitely noticed some differences in both versions..

  • compare mario vs. sonic

  • that's the ultimate tiebreaker for something like this

  • i know thats why i said it but make it sonic 1 2 and 3 vs allstars + mario world thx

  • why not just Sonic CD and Super Mario World, those were awsome titles

  • yeah but not many ppl plaed sonic cd and you needed the gayass add on sega cd so nah

  • What about Doom?

  • What about NBA Jam or Earthworm Jim?

  • Round 5 should be WWF WrestleMania: The Arcade Game.

  • Both versions of Sonic Adventure (SEGA Dreamcast and Nintendo Gamecube).

  • that is kinda stupid since the controls and graphics are different not saying your stupid but...

  • that wouldn't really work since it would be a sega game on a sega console vs a sega game on a nintendo console

  • ...Actually, you two make a good point.

  • Doom

  • you should compare nba jam for arcade snes and sega

  • In fact Genesis Art.F. was going to use the SVP but at the end it got canned in favor of the 32x.

There were some other games that were going to use the SVP but SEGA made the decision not to release more SVP games due to the price tag. Then they came up with the 32x to reduce the price per games cart.

  • compere Super mario bros. to Sonic the hedgehog!

  • How can you compare those games when they're totally different idiot.

  • we can already tell what youre gonna decide by the way you criticize the game, and hold the other one in high respect

  • do a comparison of Strider. i can already tell you that ninetendo will lose. since strider was on the genesis, it was also on the NES

  • do a comparison of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 4 PLS!

  • awesome comparison! i suggest you do Doom for SNES and 32x. BTW do you even have one? if you don't, then you should do Fatal Fury.

  • PACMAN lol

  • Can you put mortal kombat 2! please i would like to see wich one wins

  • super would win, no comparison :)

  • i agree. i just want to see the crap that sega did! jaja

  • jajajajaajano U are wrong is all crappy worst sounds musicand evrything..SNES has more of the arcade

  • Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles IV: Turtles in Time for the SNES...compared to Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Hyperstone Heist on Sega Genesis

  • m,aximum carnage

  • EARTHWORM JIM EARTHWORM JIM

  • SOLDIERS OF FORTUNE

  • try doom

  • yeah i know thats what i was thinking.

  • Comment removed

  • I'm just saying you could compare Aladdin, Desert Strike, or Earthworm Jim. I mean these games were also on both systems. Let's mix it up a bit!

  • another fighting game comparison, very original!

  • i want to see you make sega vs nintendo mortal kombat 1 or 2 or 3 please

  • Sega vs Nintendo round 2 is MK1

  • i hope nintendo gonna win. can you make a xbox360 vs playstation3?

  • u should definitly do nba jam

  • yeah !!! fatal fury should be next

  • can you make a sega vs sony after that? please. but keep up with the work, please

  • typical sega for ya

  • I think the reason the MegaDrive/Genesis had a different intro is to give it a little indivisuality from the Arcade and SNES versions.

  • you know u could make sega vs gameboy (have similler gameplay)

  • I say doom.

  • keep going and do some sega vs sony please

  • why, half the pople i know don't even know what a saturn or a dreamcast is

  • they are girls maybe...

heck i even have a neogeo, neogeoCD, pocket color, gamegear, and a 3DO. thats a gamer no some stupid fools "fanboys"

  • well, they're into new shit, dating to the gameeboy color and beyond. i didn't know what a dreamcast was until a couple years after it's demise

  • i still play my dreamcast, saturn and genisis

  • The MegaDrive/Genesis version of Fatal Fury is missing Hwa Jai and Billy Kane, as well as their stages. Their music tracks are also gone. So that 6 things missing from the arcade version.

  • Wrong game. Hwa Jai and Billy Kane are not from Art of Fighting they are in the Fatal Fury series.

  • he said fatal fury

  • i rmeber beating the genesi version but the only thing that was stopping during my moment was when the guy with the bamboo sticks kicked my ass i was down till my last credit

  • Ryo/Robert/Mr. Karate Special Moves.

    Fireball: Down,DownForward,Forward+Punch.

    100Punches: Forward,Back,Forward+Throw.

    Double Kick: DownBack,Forward+Kick.

    Uppercut: Forward,Down,DownForward+Punch.

  • If you make another Sega VS Nintendo, you should make it on Fatal Fury (SNK).

  • I agree, Fatal Fury is a very good choice, or maybe World Heroes.

The highest difficult of the AOF in Genesis version makes it virtually unplayable.

  • Maximum Carnage

  • On the PS2 version (AOF Anthology) The intro vocals, Ryo's vocals (at the end), and Yuri's vocals (At the end) are missing.

  • Genesis: Strengths - Has all in-game cinemas (not intro, though), graphics include all animations and sprites, action is closer to the NEO*GEO than SNES offering.

Weaknesses - Sound quality is like nails on a backboard! Characters don't look damaged after taking hits, no zooming, less options than SNES version.

For a good example on the backgrounds, take a look at Mickey's level on both SNES and Genesis to see what I mean about what's missing from the SNES.

    Overall, SNES takes the win!

  • Yeah but I was annoyed by the backgrounds in the Gen version because of it being zoomed out. If I remember correctly the background on the Gen stages did not look like the arcade they were altered quite a bit.

  • Actually not too much. Look at King's background and notice the flashing lights on some of the buildings. You don't see that on the NEO*GEO version. I just watched a video from the PC Engine version and it blows the doors off of both these versions!

  • Way to go on the comparison! I own AoF on BOTH SNES and Genesis and want to do my take on the 2 versions. Might take 2 posts so please forgive me!

SNES: Strengths - More options, larger fighters, desperation moves, playable bosses, zooming is not so annoying, good ending. Graphics are colourful and sharp.

Weaknesses- Backgrounds are almost empty with so many sprites and animations missing, voices are WAY off, some fighting differs from the NEO*GEO so less combos.

  • In the SNES version, everyone had Super Moves/Desperation Attacks and an extended ending. In the Megadrive/Genesis version only Ryo, Robert, and Mr.Karate had Super Moves, and it had a cliffhanger ending.

  • I second Earthworm Jim, even if the Sega CD version is better than both. Oh and you should do the original Fatal Fury just so Sega gets one free point. :)

  • Yeah I definetly plan on doing one on Fatal Fury for sure. I think this next one when I finally get around to doing it will be either TMNT or Sunset Riders. Not quite sure yet.

  • You should just do the ultimate showdown. Earthworm Jim. Seriously, people STILL argue about this game and it's Genesis/SNES ports.

  • their wasnt that many games that were on both but i think mickey mouse might of been one or bubsy

  • The Japanese version to the SEGA Genesis have an easy mode. So if you want quiet a bit easier version, go for the Japanese game.

  • How about Fatal Fury 2? :)

  • Yet another good option.

  • How about Sunset Riders? A comparison of those would be great!

  • Oooo.... someone else recommended TMNT but since the games are not the same and have different stages Sunset Riders may be a better option. I like both of those ideas. Any one else?

  • again great video, be great if you can do a NES vs master system aswell =)

  • Yeah I'm contemplating doing that. Please send in suggestions as to what game you would like to see done. Double Dragon was the first game that came to mind only... I like both games equally. If I want arcade game play I'll play the SMS version where as the NES added something to the game play.

  • Love the vids brother!

  • nice vids man..are you going to do any sega master system vs NES games?Sega would clean up that area

  • You know I thought about it. There were many games that would be great to do this with for the 8bit era.

  • nice review.

  • I suggest you do Fatal Fury and King of fighters. I'm not sure if there's a KOF game for the genesis.

  • Ha... yeah there was actually a KOF game on the Genesis but it was not official. If I remember correctly it even had Ryu or Ken in it. It was a really bad game.

  • WOW that was awesome comparison man!!!!!!! Ill have a think about games.

    Good work!!

  • Yeah I had a bit of time on my hands since I called in sick ;)

Anyway about the Battle Toads and Double Dragon. I really want to have something to compare the SNES and GEN games to so it needs an arcade counterpart. But of course Fatal Fury is an option. Another one of the great SNK games.

  • Wow 2 videos so quickly after that long break ;)

I suggest that you do Fatal Fury or Battle Toads and Double Dragon next.
