Love this guy, he is what i like to call a "proper" economist. Someone who actually uses real life to create his theory, unlike to ridiculous Keynesians who construct ridiculous models of total irrelevance and then earn themselves a nobel prize in what Casey calls the corrupt science of Economics. And it is, how can people like Paul Krugman really be known as one of the best economists in the world?
Doug is right, regarding a decayed republic without jury rights, and without proper elections (as the US now is). But he's surprisingly short-sighted about understanding that this situation is not static, it is simply resistant to change. Unfortunately, Doug's prescribed course of action makes the situation more resistant to change, because the current situation is informational, and obeys the logic of crowd thresholds. Casey's prescription reduces the likelihood of exponential libertarianism
Another load of nonsense that offers no solution or even suggestions as to how to change anything....can you say "pessimistic" just for it's own sake?
@Deb1inFla You don't have to offer solutions to point out legitimate problems. If he did that, you could say he's after some kind of agenda. Besides, accusing him of having no solutions isn't an argument against what he's saying, and neither is just calling it nonsense. Why is it nonsense?
It's like if I said that getting stabbed in the hand hurts. Just because I'm not naming things that feel good doesn't mean that I'm wrong about getting stabbed.
@Deb1inFla Can you say "realistic" for it's own sake? If you know anything about Doug Casey, you would know he has offered many suggestions about change, it's just like he says in this vid, the government is a leviathan out of control. Wake up.
